Who was the female elf LI for DA:O? I thought it was just Zevran.
There wasn't one XD
It was Leliana and Morrigan both humans.

Hopefully she'll be the m/f exclusive option?
I hope the straight or gay only LI isn't the NPC ones. I love NPC LIs, but I know others don't so that'll be bad.
My guess for the females is either;
Straight - Cassandra
Lesbian - Sera
Bi - Scribbles
Or the less balanced option;
Straight - Cassandra
Bi - Sera
Lesbian - Scribbles
It wouldn't make much sense, in my opinion, to have 1 non-companion LI among 3 companion LIs, so I assume there is going to be 6. Unless they throw Sera/Vivienne out for Scribbles and it's just her and Cass, but I reaaaaally don't see that happening.

I actually see Cassandra being a bi option more so than any other. Not sure why. I just feel it.

XD hope springs eternal for me. Besides it'd probably balance out Cullen ![]()

I would be totally comfortable with three female companions as LIs. As far as I'm concerned, that would change absolutely nothing for my male inquisitor with this outcome compared to the scenario with scribe girl. Only two girls available to me, the lesbian option not romancable in my playthrough, except that I can choose between two companions, which is just fine for me.
Just wondering, if 8 LIs meant cutting content somewhere else, would you guys still be for it? Would you rather have more LIs with less romantic content, or less LIs with more individual content? Would you sacrifice content with non-LIs to develop romances more? Or is 8 LIs just an ideal if it doesn't cut content elsewhere?
Nnnnope. If it's a choice between more content for fewer LIs and less content for more -- which is indeed how it is painted -- then I'd prefer to have fewer LIs and more meaningful/more in-depth conversations and quests content. I'd be very happy with 4 Bi LIs in this case. I'd be fine with 6 Bi LIs, too, but I personally think that may be pushing it too much with the 'more LIs, less content' idea.
I'd also not want non-romanceable companions to have their friendship paths cut for more LIs. Friendship paths are about as important to me, as interpersonal relationships are an important part of caring for the misfits around you and allowing them to breathe as fleshed-out people rather than one-dimensional pack mules.
I like having a good 8 or so companions to choose from, but I *might* be persuaded for smaller casts if it meant bigger parts and friendship and romance paths for the smaller casts.

I understand how you feel. The companions generally and the romances are my favorite part of Bioware games, but it's because of how much depth is put into them in comparison to similar game titles. Offering more sounds nice, but the reality could actually end up taking away from what originally made the games great. It's a difficult balance.

That's how I see it too. Just because all 3 female companions happen to be LIs is not the same as them all being available to a player.

Same. My preference is 4 bi Lis with extensive friendship paths for everyone else. I'll pick friendship paths over more romances every time.

That's a good point.
I guess TOR wouldn't have been so bad if some of the females were strictly lesbian (and not all available to male PCs).
I don't think the gating makes things different. I mean, either it's bad for all female companions to be sexually available, but not the males, or it's not bad. I don't think it matters who they're sexually available to.

I can't like this enough. It looks like the friendship paths are going to get some further depth, judging by Cameron Lee's comments awhile back. Having "only" 4 LIs available to all players in exchange for having deeper romance content with them, as well as deeper friendships paths for the rest? Sign me up. ![]()

You're entitled to your opinion. I'd agree if there were 6 females like there are males.
They should just add a functionality to the Keep that allows us to define character sexualities prior to starting a playthrough. A junior in college could do that.
Everyone wins!

Agreed. It makes no difference to me if they're limited to only fem PCs or males or both. Every single female companion being romanceable is meh. I really really hope BW avoided that.
The smaller number of female companions in comparison to males makes it worse if they were all Lis to me as well. They're already just a handful and they all have to be romance options?

I don't think that way at all. But it's up to you to see what you find offensive or not. There's nothing offensive for me.

Yup.

I think that's actually the main issue people are taking with the concept, though. There are twice as many males, they're a lot more diverse in design, they wont all be LIs. The females, in the scenario, were all designed very much with traditional beauty standards in mind and they'd all be sexually available in some way or another.
It would be the most epic fail ever by a developer.Terrible idea is terrible.

The only males who have untraditional appearances are the ones we pretty much know won't be romancable: Cole, Iron Bull, and Varric. Meanwhile the traditionally handsome characters Solas, DHMG, and Grey Warden are also expected to be LIs by most.

Having one of the six dude companions be another lady would've helped, imo. Iron Bull as a lady Qunari would be interesting to me.
