The last three Wardens I did were human nobles.  Sad, but true.  I've only completed the game with one Dalish and one City Elf though.  That's what I'm leaning towards.  I was still going to get Alistair on the throne though.

That's fine, I just figured since you're doing an experiment playthrough, have it affect as much as possible but your game, not mine. ^_^

I've only done Mahariel and Cousland in Origins. I always romance Zevran either way. With Cousland I have Alistair do the Dark Ritual and with Mahariel I do it myself. I think it's more interesting when it's Alistair's baby than a random human noble, but I also kind of like the idea of it being half elven.

In Origins I played all the characters and did all the romances for achievements but when I play for fun, my male character is always a dalish that romances Zev (I rarely play male though) and my female character is always human noble and romances Leliana. I like the human noble story because of Iona. It just gives me a way to say that my character is into girls before the adventure properly starts and she meets Leliana  :P Hoping for something similar in Inquisition. Doesn't have to be a 1 night thing, just a flirt option or two with random female characters before we meet our LI's will be enough  :D

Well, I'd like to share too my list of wardens and lovers, but I think I've played DA:O just too much, so I just can't remember every specific combination of origins and romance... I think I could give approximate percentages though  :P something like 90% mage (elf or human, indifferently) and 75% Zevran-25% Alistair and only once Leliana, because I didnt like the romance (same thing wth Merril). The thing is I love Alistair's romance, but the truth is  only pick him from time to time for the sake of variety... And the same thing happens to me in DA2, I love romancing Isabella and Anders (something like 12,5% each) but almost always end up with Fenris.

So, regarding "main" romances, and though I absolutely support a not gender-gated one, of course, I'm happy that I know I'm not going to be bothered at all if my favourite ones are not, because so far they've never been and I'm fine with it

Since we're sharing!

Female Amell (Mage) - King Alistair's chancellor/mistress. This was the first character I ever played, and BOY did I have a fun time figuring out how to keep Alistair and a non-noble Warden together (and alive!)

Male Brosca (Rogue) - Forever alone, does the US (at least his nephew is in line for Orzammar's throne)

Male Cousland (Warrior) - Marries Anora, Loghain does the US. Romanced and impregnated Morrigan, but was just leading her on and refused the Dark Ritual.

Female Hawke (Mage, Aggressive) - Templar'd Carver, forced Varric to kill Bartrand and let him keep the idol shard, returned Fenris to Danarius, let Isabela run off with the relic, encouraged Merrill in her pursuits, supported and romanced Anders, had a bitter rivalry with Aveline. Outspoken and belligerent about mage freedom. I headcanon she's fighting in the mage rebellion with Anders.

Female Hawke (Rogue, Clever) - Lost Bethany in the Deep Roads, let Varric kill Bartrand (for his part in Bethany's death) but didn't let him keep the idol shard, befriended Fenris and helped him defeat Danarius, turned Isabela over to the Arishok, denounced Merrill's behavior, had a bitter rivalry with Anders and a slightly less bitter rivalry with Aveline, and rivalmanced Sebastian. After losing her sister, the best mage she ever knew after her father, and then losing her mother to blood magic, she lost all faith in mages and turned pro-templar. Biggest and most depressing headcanon ever: she became Viscountess and married Sebastian. It will never be real. ;_;

Female Hawke (Warrior, Diplomatic) - Circle'd Bethany, didn't let Varric kill Bartrand or keep the idol shard, rivalmanced Fenris and helped him defeat Danarius, defended Isabela from the Arishok, pleaded with Merrill to see sense, sympathized with Anders and was on good terms with Aveline. Despite being a templar, she knew from personal experience that not all mages are evil, and defended them from Meredith at the Gallows. I headcanon she returned to Ferelden with Fenris after helping the mages, and now they wander the country helping people in need.

I'll take a shot at Inquisitors as well, though until I get to know the characters better (and know who my options are) none of this is set in stone.

Female Trevalyan (Mage) - Definitely Cullen. The mage-templar romance dynamic is so appealing that it's been used multiple times in "canon" works, so I hope it'll be available for me too!

Female Lavellan (Rogue) - Will probably be forever alone like Brosca and (technically) Hawke in the import chain before her! I played my male Cousland as being obsessed with avenging his family and killing Howe, so if Lavellan loses her entire clan because of the Breach, I might play her this way too.

Female Adaar (Warrior) - The most difficult! I was planning to play a stoic, greater good/end justifies the means type qunari, but if the personality triad is making a return from DA2 my qunari has to be the snarky/charming character out of my three Inquisitors. And if she is, it'll feel like I have a rule 63 Iron Bull Inquisitor... Add to that the fact that my second romance option is probably Solas, and... well, there's some humor potential in that, I guess?

Ah, why not.

Male Mahariel (canon): Morrigan. Mahariel is just as new to this strange new human world as she is, and they both hate the Chantry and respect nature/old lore. It's a natural fit. Performed the DR with Morrigan.

Female Aeducan: Zevran. Was looking for sex, not love, after Gorim broke her heart...and found love anyway. Talked Alistair into sleeping with Morrigan.

Male Cousland: Leliana. Complete arrogant playboy noble with a redeemed bard who was trying for love instead of sex. You better believe she caught his eye, and kept it when she *ahem* dragged him on. Let Loghain do the US.

Female Tabris: Alistair, because they're both sweet, funny people. Had to watch as he did the US, which you better believe broke her.

Male Brosca: Nobody. He didn't like being shorter than all the girls. Performed the US himself.

Female Surana: Nobody. She was a complete psychopath. Forced Alistair to sleep with Morrigan because she was curious as to what an OGB would be like.

Female Hawke (Mage, Snarky) (Canon): Romanced Anders, will side with the mages. Almost done with this, still trying to decide whether it'd be a better story to kill him or let him go. If he dies  she walks the earth trying to fix the mess he made. If he lives they run away together fighting for mage freedom.

Male Hawke (Rogue, Aggressive): Rivalmanced Merrill. Sided with the mages because his sister was in the Circle. Now running around with Merrill trying to protect her from the vengeful Dalish clans and angry Templars.

Female Hawke (Warrior, Diplomatic): Romanced Fenris. Sided with the Templars to preserve as much order in the city as possible. Now rules it as Viscountess.

Since we are apparently sharing whom our Wardens tend to romance, here's mine.

Amell: Leliana (They both seemed to be looking for someone to accept them as they really are. I also want to see if Leliana and Cullen have any words on the subject since Leliana gets involved with his crush.)

Brosca: Alistair (Both she and Rica have stolen the hearts of future kings.)

Cousland: Morrigan and Leliana and Anora (It's good to be the King. :P)

Mahariel: Zevran (Both were elves without a home so were kindred spirits.)

Tabris(canon Warden): Nobody. She doesn't believe in sex before marriage.

In DA:O

Amell: Morrigan - always Morrigan (because of the mage-to-mage connection; step 1 in the plan to be immortal-ish).

Cousland: Leliana (and/or Leliana + Anora, depending on the moral compass).

Tabris: Zevran (she's a tinytiny bit of an elf supremacist; still doesn't like the Dalish  :P )

Broca: Sten (I don't care what you say they were in love!  :pinched: )

In DA2:

Depending on the playthrough, Merrill, Isabella or Fenris. Anders is just a LOLNope because he's a complete loon. Fenris may have a lot of issues, but at least he doesn't have a +1.

MCousland: Romance with Morrigan. Followed her into the mirror, so who knows what happened

FAmell:Became Alistairs mistress and lover. I imagine she's done quite a bit of travel between the circle trying to keep the heavy emotions stable. (canon)

FAmell: Became viscountess and ruled with Fenris by her side.  After the events Fenris and her probably ran away to the country side

MAmell: Fell in love with Anders. They fled the area and probably picked up a few illusion spells. Even though My Amell was still disappointed in him, he knew something had to happen. You can bet they'll be in the mage war

In DA:O

Broca: Sten (I don't care what you say they were in love!  :pinched: )

In DAO I had a head canon that there was something going on between my Warden and Sten as well.  Heck, my Warden left with him back to his homeland at the end of the game (and with the way his epilogue was worded, "always standing by [my Warden's] side", Zevran apparently came along, too  LOL).

I forgot where I heard this from, but wasn't it stated somewhere, in the comics or wherever, that the game's default Warden (the female Dalish elf) had a relationship with Sten?

No the defualt import has no romances.

Cause if there was one, the forums would explode in rage over them trying to force a character or something.

Every so often a person rages onto the forums screaming about BIOWARE ENFORCING CANON or something.

Rather amusing.

I can get behind this 100%.  I just did the same with my Dalish Warden and Zev.  Wouldn't that be a wonderful sight, Sten marching around with his two elf companions?

Now that I think about it more, I could swear it was talked about a bit on the old forums.  In fact, I distinctly remember being taken aback because the participants in the conversation were talking about it like it was absolute fact.

Oh well.  I don't really care enough about it to look it up (especially if the supposed source material is the comics, which I don't particularly care for).  I was just mildly curious.

Since we're making lists ...

FCousland: Alistair. I did not start out planning to be queen! I went into DAO not knowing that Alistair was the heir to the throne, and my Cousland fell for him before they went to Redcliffe and he told her the truth. But being queen sure is a nice fringe benefit.

MAmell: Ruthless, power-hungry ... and a total sap for his Antivan assassin. Until I hear otherwise, I assume they had a great time taking over the Crows together.

FAeducan: Managed to have a complex soap opera love-life. Started out with Gorrim, then developed unrequited feelings for Sten. (I wish there was an option to talk about this in game, the way there is with Aveline in DA2. I wouldn't expect anything but utter incomprehension on Sten's part, but it would have been neat to be able to say something.) Meanwhile, Leliana ninjamanced her due to a bug, and Aeducan had to break up with her twice despite nothing ever happening. She also slept with Alistair after she'd arranged for him to marry Anora, because she felt bad about sending the poor boy off a blushing virgin. And then she did the Ultimate Sacrifice and everyone involved felt bad. (I think it's probably just as well she stabbed Zevran without waking him up, or it might all have gotten even worse somehow ...)

MMahariel: Naive and easily seduced by Morrigan. Was furious when he found out why she'd really been following him around all this time, and refused the Dark Ritual. Had a change of heart after he heard she was pregnant anyway and ran all over Ferelden looking for her. They reconciled in front of the Eluvian and took off together for parts unknown.

FTabris: Didn't want to get married, and wished there was an option to say 'but dad, I don't think I like men!' Wasn't too sure about humans either at first, but Leliana won her over eventually. Alas, Morrigan was one of the humans she didn't trust, so she ended up doing the ultimate sacrifice.

MBrosca: Was only into dwarves. Forever alone. (Well, he did the Dark Ritual with Morrigan, but not for fun.) It's a shame Sigrun wasn't an option, because he'd have gone for her in a heartbeat.

MSurana: Flirted with every girl he met, with the notable exception of Morrigan. (He was a good Andraste-fearing boy and didn't approve of her apostate ways.) Ended up in love with Leliana, but did the Dark Ritual. He was very, very upset about this whole thing and ended up stabbing Morrigan at the Eluvian as a result.

Fem Tabris: always running away from ninjamance Leliana to run in the arms of her Gray Warden Alistair. She accepter Morrigan's ritual, and now she and Alistair travel together as Gray Warden, Anora rule the Ferelden.

Male Brosca: helped Alistair became ruler with Anora, but disappeared to find her lover, Morrigan, and his god-baby.

Fem Surana: initially accepted Leliana avances, but in the end she fell for Zevran. Didin't made the ritual. Alistair died.

Male Surana: started a romance with Zevran, but I didn't finished his story....

I would actually be rather embarrassed to list off just how many times I did Dragon Age Origins runs.

But suffice it to say I did do all the romances in the game.

Tabris (canon): Alistair with mistress ending. She talked him into the DR AND marrying Anora, because she felt the marriage added legitimacy to the reign. She was not going to give up the political connection or let Anora rule on her own after all the stuff that went down in the alienage. Besties with Morrigan, and let her go through the Eluvian.

Aeducan: Leliana romance, because an ousted noble and ex-spy were too good to pass up. Crowned Bhelen so he'd always know he owed his throne to his paragon sister.

Purple Warrior Hawke: friendmanced Isabela, but very adamantly did not agree to the deal for the ship. Friended everyone except Anders, primarily because she thought he was so weird. I like to think she insisted on paying him every time she brought him along to heal. 'But we're companions, you don't have to pay me!' 'Yes. Yes, I do. Don't come to my house any more. Ever.'

I'm utterly pathetic in DA:O, I find it impossible to romance anyone but Alistair, I don't play male characters either...

In DA2, my mages romance Anders, and my rogues Fenris...apart from one, who got upset after Fenris naffed off after sleeping with her so she ended up with Anders...

My canon DA:O playthrough is FCousland who is also the Queen of course...

Cannon:

- Female Dalish Elf Warden: slept with Zevran, fell for Alistair, broke Zev's heart, ended up Alistair's mistress.

- Female Mage Hawke: Had the hots for Fenris, but enjoyed flirting with Anders. Anders happened to proposition her first, and she couldn't resist - he moved in. Eventually fell in love with him, but kind of always regretted never hooking up with Fenris.

Evil:

- Female Elf Mage: hooked up with Zevran, stayed true to him

- Female Rogue Hawke: All about the Fenris.

Sleep-Around Playthrough (preface that they slept with every NPC available, these are just the companions):

- Male Human Noble Rogue: Slept with Zevran. Slept with Morrigan. Romanced Leliana. Did the foursome with Zev, Leli, and Isabella.  Knocked up Morrigan with an OGB, married Anora, kept Leliana as his Mistress.

- Male Mage Hawke: Slept with Fenris. Dumped him. Slept with Anders. Dumped him. Slept with Merrill. Dumped her. Slept with Isabella - supposed she's still with him. Did the threesome with Isabella and Zevran. Kind of hoping Isabella and Zevran show up in DA:I just so all my protagonists can sleep with the same two people.

Noble/Religious Playthrough:

- Male Dwarf Noble Warrior: Said I wouldn't mention NPC's (mostly cos i forget them all), but he did get that one dwarf chick pregnant. Romanced Morrigan - but felt the dark ritual was wrong, so she left him. He may have also slept with Zevran and/or Leliana at some point, but I honestly don't remember.

- Female Warrior Hawke: Married Sebastian. Never got any.
