Bonbons aren't condoms. They are a type of chocolate sweet:

This are fancy-smhancy ones, all hand painted.
For a woman, the Inquisitor could do much worse than good wine and chocolates. ![]()

Yeah, I didn't need to know that either. I'd bet money that wasn't the context that the artist was going for. ![]()

Question to shoot the romance thread.
I was just reading the old threads of various games and came across a thread where a poster wanted a way yo keep Tali and Garrus from hooking up without having to kill or romance either of them. I have to wonder the general opinion.
If you are not romancing two characters and they end up hooking up with each other do you approve or disapprove? Is it just jealousy because in a previous playthroughs you romanced one of the said characters? Or is it just some weird thing where only you want to be the only one allowed to romance?
Personally I love that this happens. When I first saw Tali and Garrus together, I liked the hook up so much I disregarded my Tali romance Playthrough and haven't touched the two ever since. I feel that when your companions peruse their own love lives they become more alive to me.
I hope all of my companions one day find their true loves... with or without me. Companions developing relationships with one another heightens the roleplaying experience for me.
I picked up some donuts on the way home because dammit I deserved them. And they were delicious.
Tasty dessert: Take some strawberries, cut them in half. cover each strawberry half in chocolate and stick in on top of a pepperidge farm brussels cookie. Add dollop whipped cream. It seems much fancier than it is and takes like 30 seconds to make, outside of melting the chocolate.
I like it when companions form relationships when each other. It makes them seem more like individuals when you're not the focus of their whole world. They spend a lot of time with you, but they also spend so much time with each other. It makes sense they'd form intense bonds and, yes, even relationships. If the companions involved are also LIs, then it should just be a situation where you pass a certain point to trigger the romance and they pursue someone else, I think. I don't really understand the jealousy issues people have with it at all, honestly.

Well, I find that I actually like Fenris and Isabela's relationship, such that it is, better than him being with Hawke, so I'll probably not romance either of them again. I just think that plays out at a healthier pace than his relationship with Hawke can (not to say that Fenris/Hawke is unhealthy, I'm just not 100% comfortable with the love scene in Act 2).
For Tali and Garrus, I don't love them together, but I don't hate it. I would never, like, kill one of them off to avoid it or anything. I just think that they should have been bi options in ME2/available for new romances in ME3. Despite Garrus/FemShep being my favorite romance of all romances, I'm more okay with him hooking up with Tali when unromanced, and more upset that I can't romance her with FemShep. A triad would have also been acceptable.
But over all, I'm amenable to it all the time. As long as it's not otherwise problematic, why not? Our companions have needs, too.

I *love* the idea of Isabela and Fenris together, and they're my favorite DA2 love interests. If I like the characters, and they seem to be happy and work well together, my Inquisitor will gladly give them her blessing.
The only thing that might bother me is an emotionally or physically abusive relationship, or one that hurts either party in any way. Then I'd hope there's a way to at least express disapproval, if not stop them. I don't know if that kind of NPC relationship will be written any time soon, but it would be sad to see a trainwreck happening and know I can't do anything about it.
I'm so so on NPCs hooking up regardless. Like say Joker and EDI always hooking up and Shep not being able to discourage that would've left a bad taste in my mouth. But something like Garrus/Tali doesn't bother me at all (and I avoid Fenris/Isabela by romancing Fenris or flat out not recruiting Isabela so *shrug* I really don't see that relationship as healthier than Hawke/Fenris. Fenris is just more open about his hurt and rage with Hawke.)
...then again I side with the geth. So it's often not an issue.
and on my renedouche playthroughs (yay peace) it's easily ignored.
So it really depends on who I guess. LelianaxAlistair in DSC didn't bother me in the least. (I kind of wish they did it in the base game). I guess it bothers me when I don't like one of the characters to begin with.
I thought Fenris/Isabela was cute. I also like the idea that Fenris will be okay even if Hawke doesn't romance him. But I've never actually had this happen because my Hawkes always romance Fenris. ![]()
I'm looking forward to seeing what relationships could potentially happen with the DA:I npcs.
There's another thread where we were talking about how it'd be cool to have a married couple among your companions, so I'd be all for 2 of our companions hooking up. I think it might also be cool if an un-romanced LI hooked up with one of the companions that WASN'T a potential LI. You know, cuz just because they aren't available to the PLAYER doesn't mean they aren't interested in having their own romances. ![]()

I loved Tali and Garrus hooking up, but that was because I totally shipped them from ME1 on. But! I also like when Fenris and Isabella hook up. I like when my companions go "whatever, who needs the PC!" and find love (or at least lust) on their own, I guess.
I super don't care about any romances that don't involve me, and I double-super don't care about any romances that involve vaginas.
So yeah, companions I'm not boning can do whoever they want.
Companions finding love and/or hooking up is awesome to me. I fully endorse it. But more than that, I love if I can have my PC play meddling matchmaker. Getting to have an interactive hand involved in setting folks up, similar to Aveline and Donnic. Love that.
I never really saw Garrus and Tali as a couple. I thought it was a rather odd match. They seemed like antagonistic brother/sister to me. But hey, if they're happy, whatever.

Can't say I've ever enjoyed matchmaking. It just seems like meddling to me.
Fenris will hook up with Isabela at about the same time that he'll return to Hawke if the romance has gone well. I think that's simply when he was finally ready, regardless of who it is.

Indeed. Would rather allow my companions to sort their own affairs. Like Tali and Garrus. They didn't come to me for advice. Edi made sense considering she is a A.I. learning.
