If you are not romancing two characters and they end up hooking up with each other do you approve or disapprove? Is it just jealousy because in a previous playthroughs you romanced one of the said characters? Or is it just some weird thing where only you want to be the only one allowed to romance?

I don't like that my LI from other playthrough will hook up with someone else and it's because I'm jealous :D But I'm not trying to avoid that situation either.

Well, if you really love your LI, you'll be happy for them when your aren't romancing them.

Isabela/Fenris isn't really a relationship though. It seemed to me it was only casual sex.
There's some problem with the comparison of how he reacted after having sex with Hawke (for what i know). It can be possibly explained, I guess, that his crysis with Hawke was caused by the feelings he has for him/her, while he doesn't have for Isabela.
I like that Fenris interacts more with people in Act 3. He's friend with Varric and Donnic, he talks with the elves in the city. He seems more integrated in it.

I comfort myself with the whole Hawke screwed Fenris so hard his life flashed before his eyes :P

And yeah Fenris is more at peace with himself regardless in act 3. A nice contrast to Anders who starts out more open and is more distrusting and bitter.

I disagree. I can really love that LI but I don't have to be happy for him when he is with someone else. I can just allow it to happen.

Eh it really depends on which NPC they hook up for me.

Yeah, I think the same thing about the Anders-Fenris comparison in the various acts.
Though to be fair I don't think it's easy to live with a corrupted spirit inside you.

Yeah it's interesting how they switched perspectives though.

And true.

I like it when companions form relationships when each other. It makes them seem more like individuals when you're not the focus of their whole world. They spend a lot of time with you, but they also spend so much time with each other. It makes sense they'd form intense bonds and, yes, even relationships. If the companions involved are also LIs, then it should just be a situation where you pass a certain point to trigger the romance and they pursue someone else, I think. I don't really understand the jealousy issues people have with it at all, honestly.

Personally Isabela/fenris thing doesn't happen in my games as Isabela and hawke are the perfect fit. Really liked the Garrus/tali thing as I rarely romance either. Don't get peoples issues that these things happen if not romanced.

I'm ok with relationships between companions, but I'm not particularly interested in them either, not the way they're usually presented at least, which is only one short scene, like with garrus and tali, or one or two banters, like with Fenris and Isabella (I'm not sure, is unfrequent that both of them are unromanced in my playthrughs but that was all, wasn't it?). It does little more for me that "oh, so this two hook up" and that's about it. It doesn't really seem to add to their personalities or personal stories... In this regard I think I like better something like Joker-EDI's relationship, which is given more time and relevance. Otherwise, well, I value the scene in question as much as any other funny dialogue (assuming it is funny).

Maybe there will be a 'double-date' option for this Orlesian Ball thing.

I was struck by how much variety there seemed to be, and also the amount of thought some people seem to have put into their characters' motivations and feelings about their relationships.

My canon Origins playthrough is a female Dalish Warrior (bisexual). Tamlen was her best friend and they were involved. She starts out really quite racist and Dalish supremacisty towards "shems" and "flat ears", though she quickly becomes bffs with Morrigan through their shared traits (respect for nature and old magic/old lore, distrust and dislike of the new human world they find themselves navigating, opinions towards the Chantry, both being capable strong women, hardline pragmatic attitudes & tendency towards the acerbic, mutual disparaging opinions of Alistair, etc). She engages in a casual friends-with-benefits arrangement with her bro Zevran but ultimately grudgingly falls for Alistair. At first she thinks he's a big stupid shem, slow and useless, soft, cowardly, indecisive etc. She's slow to warm to him but they end up together. In the end, Anora becomes sole ruler, Alistair does the DR with Morrigan at the Warden's insisting (I love Aimo and DGaider's comic for the DR with romanced Alistair and bestfriended!Morrigan), Alistair remains unhardened and him and Mahariel continue to be Wardens together. Although, if she'd been able to romance Morrigan it would have been a different story. x)

Canon DAII is bisexual ladyHawke aggressive & direct mage who romances Fenris, after a fwb fling with bff!Izzy.

In Inquisition I'm hoping for Cassandra and Solas for my FemQuizzies. I'm still not over Morrigan rofl. I light 8978 prayer candles every night that my femquisitor will be able to be with Cass.

Impossible situation. If my LI is going to romance someone else my love for them will disappear.

Yeah reading some of those angry posts about the Isabela/Fenris ship was ....weird.

Crazy Person:"FENRIS IS MINE ! IZZY CANT HAVE HIM! THAT PIRATE ******! I SELL HER TO THE ARISHOK INSTEAD!!!! CAUSE HE IS MINE!"

Me: 9rkDKoa.gif

I mean he is not a romance for you in that game and you cant stand it that much?

That is just a bit to nutty for me.

The whole throw her to the Arishok then makes me  I mean...really? It's not like Tali where you're forced to drag her ass around otherwise. Just don't recruit. It's...really...not that hard.

Well I was talking to one person about why she did that.

She insisted that its to much like cheating for her, cause really even though she was romancing Anders that run Fenris was still HERS!

Wut.

I could understand if one felt the two of them were ill suited to one another but...lol.

(Handing Isabela over to the arishok is one of the lamest decisions. It makes the whole Arishok conflict bleeeeh).

And why the prison breaking sequences need to be so unecesserily hardcore ? the difficulty is all over the place.
