I wish she had been available for FemSheps, don't get me wrong! I love Jack. I guess it's in peoples' interpretations of what she says; I always thought that that the couple that were taking advantage of and were using her had also done so sexually maybe, and she'd decided sleeping with women wasn't for her after some experimentation on that front. I took her "girl's club" comment to FemShep as reinforcement of that, though I can see it also meaning that she simply didn't want a paint-toenails-sleepover-talk-about-boys girl BFFs type relationship ("fck off I'm not here to make friends" type situation rather than "I don't play for the lesbian team man").

I wouldn't say she was "explicitly bi" though.

Cassandra could have had many lovers in her past...that all died.

Who still wants to romance Cassandra now?

^_^

SHE CAN KILL ME ANY TIME

I believe Jack may have originally been intended to be a romance option for FemShep. This can be seen in parts of the dialogue with her, where some lines from the actual romance almost intersect but somehow stop altogether and you cannot move forward. I don't know if it's just me but I thought it was quite suggestive.

So either BioWare didn't bother editing the dialogue enough in the case of FemSheps, or Jack was indeed a romance option at some point during development before getting scrapped last-minute, leaving us with a bunch of teasing leftovers.

But the same was true for Tali and FemShep, the almost intersecting and somehow stopping altogether and you can't move forward and it can be taken to be quite suggestive - do you think Tali was intended as a romance option for FemShep too and got scrapped during development? I always took it as BioWare not bothering (more likely they weren't able i.e. lack of resources, more squadmates = less depth for each squadmate) to differentiate friendship paths enough or give them enough depth. Some of the friendship paths are lacking in a similar way with the characters you CAN romance as a certain sex but choose not to.

For that matter there was apparently an intention for Miranda to be bisexual as well, given unused dialogue.

I wouldn't know about Tali, but it's definitely possible.

I think it's likely that many of the romances were edited and/or scrapped during development. If I remember correctly, I read somewhere that Thane (yes, Thane) was originally available to MaleSheps, despite having been created specifically for the ladies.

Either way, BioWare not bothering sounds like the most likely explanation to me as well, which can be for any number of reasons including a lack of resources. It's just unfortunate considering the potential that could have been. I'd hate for the same thing to happen again in DA:I.

Also true. I specifically remember that.

Can we talk about how the explanation for Quarian sensitivity doesn;t make sense tho? Every Quarian has to leave the fleet to become an adult. Every Quarian. The reason why early explorers decimated populations they visited with disease was because the exact opposite of the Quarian system.

If anything, they should have the most robust immune systems of all!

Quarion biology is just a middle finger to immunology. It's a big case of did not do the research (like, for example, talking about using antibiotics to "boost" your immune system when the ostensibly problem is allergic).

I believe it is more the former than the latter.  Sloppy.

Doesn't Tali have some FemShep romance lines too?  Kaidan and Ash have same-sex dialogue.  Thane has unused audio files as well with DudeShep.  I thought part of it was because the scripts are read by Hale and Meer from cover to cover, and they read each LI's romance scene, regardless of whether that LI is going to be gender-gated/straight and if they need those dialogue lines.

If this is true I have to hear Male Shepard speaking the lines from Jacobs romance.

Complete with Mark Meer saying "But I'm a woman" I believe.

Is that the creepy sexual harassment one?

Yeah its when FemShep meets him at Clora's Den. Meer's "uh..." never fails to crack me up.

The weird thing is, Femshep has audio files for an Ashley romance at the very begining of ME3, files that shouldn’t be here as it’s a dialogue that’s only possible if Ashley was romanced in ME1...

That actually is kinda funny.

I really wonder why they cut it from Mass Effect, when Jade Empire had two bi characters out of three for LI?

Jade Empire came first IIRC.

It wasn't cut.  The lines just weren't flagged to be recorded only for FemShep.

Let's not forget this, too... *sigh* Thane was always my favorite character.  What could have been...

Days of our Thedosian Lives. The Young and the Restless Ferelden. General Hospice. Lord Gray's Anatomy. So many soap-opera-esque options to choose from.

Qun&Elfquisitor: "I don't want to live in this world anymore." :crying:

I did hear that they have both VA record the lines regardless of how the romance might end up

If you listen to the Nerd Appropriate podcast about LGBT content from PAX Prime, here you will hear them talk about.

Go to 36 minutes roughly.

(paraphrased)

Luke "There are lines where the Male Shepard has romantic lines for Kaiden... not because they were written for them to say but because they weren't flagged to be female only."

Patrick: "I don't think we could flag female only. I think we were just so paranoid that a line would be missed that we agreed to just have them record all the lines."

It might not be the case for the later games.  Luke specifically mentioned the first game, so it could be a case where we are both correct? (assuming the lines are recorded for ME3 too).

Not sure if I'm gonna cry or laugh when it turns out that Cassandra gets the Carth Syndrome.

"Oh Regalyan! His magic was like a soft touch upon the cheeks, his hands were like wings that would lift you into the sky of pleasure! Ooooooh, I miss him so much!"

I'm assuming this is a different Cassandra, right? Because that's not Cassandra's personality, like at all, about anything.

Never doubt the effect of Shepard's extraordinarily high midichlorian count.

As for Cassandra, I keep getting the feeling that she will be a slightly more intense version of Aveline, which, I must say, I approve of.

Yes! I love Aveline. She's probably my second favorite companion in DA2.

Well, Turians aren't 'senstitive' species (if i'm correct. Mordin didn't say anything about beding Garrus, did he?). Quarians on the other hand....

No, Mordin says stuff. He tells Shepard not to...ingest Turian tissue.
