Complete with Mark Meer saying "But I'm a woman" I believe.

I remember that.

Hilarious stuff.

Cassandra seems really cool, but I don't trust Gaider all that much with an LI arc. He needs a hefty diet of fan tears.

Didn't he write the Alistair arc? That could turn out all happy-go-lucky if you played it write.

I hate to break it to you: all writers love a hefty diet of fan tears.

It's in the book.

1. Write something seemingly happy and lovely.

2. Make sure everyone's all invested.

3. Crush them.

4. Crush them like Shale crushes pigeons.

5. Bask in the warm glow of their misery.

6. Go back to step 1.

If Isabela is Sheryl Chee's idea of fan tears, I'll take it. It's just good drama. There's nothing crushing about it?

And if Lukas is writing an LI, then I doubt he'll repeat the Aveline thing again.

I like Cassandra's blush.

However the s/s fanart is getting old. Nothing wrong with s/s stuff, I'd just like more variety in fanart.

I think he'd rather it go differently. Case in point :D

Watching some peoples’ reactions regarding Alistair and the Landsmeet, as they attempt to thread a needle of self-justification for their desires, has always been a highlight for me. It’s fascinating, even if it does make me feel a bit like a mad scientist with little electric probes attached to the patient’s brain.

"Hmm. Now vee shall see how ze subjekt responds to ze stimulus!" ZZZZAP

If you want to make Gaider laugh, tell him your plans.

Right you are. He'll laugh even if you manage to correctly guess the LIs just to make you doubt yourself.

I don't think you even have to tell the plans. He knows what archetypes and plots many people gravitate toward well enough. And then subverts it.

Meer doing FemShep's version of the Harkin's conversation is my favorite one <3

That's my favorite one, too, due to Meer's delivery and the novelty of it.  Creepy sexual harassment that it is.  And "Hey Sweetheart" scenarios are things I'd rather avoid like the plague.

Is he subverting archetypical happy romances or, is he just phoning in archetypical tragic romances?

I don't know. It's not really important. I still like how his characters in general. None of it is even romance related (HK-47 and Shale, the general lore. Great villains like Loghain and Meredith).

It is. On MShep it's hilarity on FemShep it's eyeroll worthy.

Agreed. Or at least have them be male PC exclusive :P

It's gross either way, imo.

Joss Whedon actually keeps a reservoir under his house that contains fan tears. Occasionally, he dunks himself into it to soak in its life energy, like the Lazarus pit.

Maybe that's why I like Shale. She just gets to the crushing right off the bat.

Shale's a more endearing character than she lets on. I think Sten is the same way, despite what he did to get where he was.

As Leliana says, Sten is just a big softie.

The same reason I like Jack.

But there's less bullsh*t going on with their intros and plots. What you see is what you get.

He was helping the kitten train you guys :P

I'd probably like Jack a lot more if she wasn't a forced recruit. As it is though...meh.
