I want an ice king, but I don't think I'll ever get one in Bioware games.
Same.
I thought Fenris would've been the ice king but he's more a ball of rage and fire D:
I love defrosting Ice Kings.

I can only remember as "Ice King" Sand in NWN2. and I'm still depressed that he wasn't a romance. He would have been awesome.
cinical, almost cruel but intelligent, with a soft spot to the "thank you". I loved that Elf.
okay, ignore the companions in general. What would your ideal romance be?

You and me both. He was the best character out of that mess. I expect writing a romance for him would have been fun.
As far as romances go, I actually liked Kaidan's. He had valid reason to not want to automatically get involved - fraternization is bad, yo - and though he had his "past" with the girl, it was a silly teenage crush and his bigger issue was realizing how dangerous his powers could be. He was also over the girl and largely over his dangerous power fears by the time he talks to you in ME1. I know and tend to agree with people who hate Horizon, but on the other hand it was nice to see at least one character not automatically fall at Shepard's feet and fawn all over him/her, and to have the ballocks to question the issue. It made him feel "real" as his own character, and not like a puppy that fell in line once Shepard whistled.
If I have a complaint about that particular romance, it would be that there wasn't much support like one would expect from a love interest, especially in the situation that Shepard was facing. Kaidan might not have asked to be patted and walked and cared for, but he also didn't do much in turn. Having a line or two about "how are you doing, really?" or comforting someone after a bad mission would be nice to see from a love interest.

I would like to see LI comforting my PC too.

XD I loved Sand's snarking. And that wasn't BW ;-; BW why you no give me Ice King male D:

I really liked how the LI (or Aveline if you didn't have one) came up to try to comfort you after All that Remains. That was a very nice touch.
This just totally reminded me of the implied suicide epilogue if an unhardened Leliana was romanced + ultimate sacrifice.Would ultimate sacrificed Warden that had a Leliana romance count?
I know Leliana's not a romance option but I'm sure she'll bring Dead!Warden up at some point.
I would like to see LI comforting my PC too.
Thirded. Obviously we have no idea if there's going to be anything like it in DA: I, but the scene after All That Remains was lovely. I wish there had been something like it in Origins, after you visit certain places. Like a sort of 'do you want to talk about it? I'm sorry' conversation tied to specific origin triggers. The City Elf after Unrest in the Alienage, the Casteless after entering dust town for the first time, Aeducan after entering the palace. The Mage could happen after either the tower or meeting Jowan in Redcliffe. Something for when you go back to the party camp after.
Dalish and Cousland are a mite more difficult, but even if it's not their clan a Dalish warden might be thrown by seeing any clan devastated, and Cousland might well be triggered by seeing a castle/village very like their own in such a state of destruction.

Cousland could've worked after Howe confrontation.
Dalish is kind of just there tho....I guess you could've gotten one after the Tamlen shade incident?
She gains a tolerance to YOUR germs. Simple.Power of Shep's magic wang. Shep can even bang Tali into not being as sensitive to human germs. Somehow.
...

We can hope that there will be more comforting in the future
It would have also been nice that your LI would have come and hug you or hold your hand after something bad had happened. Maybe kiss you on your cheek so that you know that he/she cares about you.

yep. I was a little disappointed about the CE origin. when Shianni talk about what happened at the marriage of the Warden, Alistar said something like "what? you where married?" and one of the answers where something like "I'll talk you about it later" but that conversation never happened.
I would have loved the chance to talk to a romaced Alistair about what happened.
Cousland could've worked after Howe confrontation.

Or that.
Or maybe it only unlocks if you do the Arcane Warrior thing (even if the specialization is already unlocked from another warden)? I mean, you're screwing around with ancient elven magic again, and that's what got them in this mess in the first place.

I really would have loved if there had been a response reserved for those of us who kept the wedding ring equipped. 'Why do you think I have been wearing a WEDDING RING this entire time'

that too. I always roleplayed so my Elf kept the ring equipped until she started the romance with Alistair, but a reference about the special items would have been cute.

That...doesn't make it more reasonable at all.
As for Jack it didn't feel to me she was over it in the least bit given her actions in game.
Or that.

Yeah.
I don't see why. DW can't even be a AW. If anything shouldn't it trigger from simply finding the ruins?

Same. But always in the inventory. And then she puts it back on once they talk about him maybe marrying Anora, because her being married is a little bit of armor against court rumors.
Yeah.

That would also work. But the warden doesn;t know they can't be an AW, so there's no reason for them not to do the ritual thing, and it's the messing about with elven magic that calls back to their origin.

True I just feel it'd work better with the ruins in general though. But this is clearly a YMMV situation so ![]()
A young girl who's in love with the idea of romance and through the chaos and events of the game gains maturity and discovers what she really wanted was people she cared enough about to live for. And by the end of the game we start a family... although knowing me I'd probably just go for whoever the unstable chick is. My DA romances: Morrigan and Merrill ME: Jack. My track record in rl isn't too different either.okay, ignore the companions in general. What would your ideal romance be?

Agreed. ![]()
And now I'm hoping Dwarf Inq can mention the weirdness of them somewhat using magic by being able to control fade tears ![]()

Yeah. It's not much of a difference anyways really, since I think most people still do the ritual for XP and the convo wouldn't trigger til back at the party camp

That would be neat.
It makes me think of the gameplay trailer, when Cass confronts the inquisitor saying "You are the only threat I see." after he uses the glow hand-thing.
I imagine her thinking "Mage!", but with the dwarven inquisitor she's thinking "Mage!.. Wait, wut?" ![]()

That situation was a good example of the LI not supporting your PC - mostly because it happened really late in the game, so it was really weird to have your LI be totally surprised about your past. Only Wynne asks you more about yourself and how are you feeling about stuff.
