Not sure about that. But the impression I get from reading the boards is people are more concerned about virtual waifu's and inclusion than they are about the game.
While it's not Bioware directly, these are their boards for anyone looking at DA:I.
You hit the nail on the head. As one of the developers had said, the fanbase had caused the hype to revolve around homosexuality. "Dragon Age: Inquisition's" advertising should be based upon game mechanics, skills, character customization, storytelling, etc... During the course of the past year, the main theme behind interviews and fan raves have revolved around homosexuality. While I have no problem with the inclusion of gay characters, I wish the hype focused on other game aspects.
Vocal fans, some of those in this thread, have managed to hijack the game's hype.
"Dragon Age: Inquisition" is either a dark fantasy roleplaying game, or its a story about a group of homosexual lovers. Romance is a welcomed aspect of BioWare games. I love BioWare's style of storytelling. I am a massive fan. On the other hand, the alternative romances should not overshadow everythigng else.
That said, gamers like him do make me worried that when it hits mainstream, that is all people will talk about being a gay agenda game or whatever. I have seen it elsewhere, but I am just really worried that it may effect Bioware negatively.
...and, that is my point.
I managed to tick off a ton of people by using the phrase 'alpha male'.
...and, that should be a serious problem for BioWare.
We have to move past the 'special' romance aspects of this game.
I should not have been burned for asking for strong hetrosexual repationships.
...the fact is many people who play dragon age are not heterosexual...
Unless you have some sort of statistical data, I personally do not think your assumption is based upon truth.
