I strongly doubt the next gay LI will be Solas. Bioware has yet to prove that they can give an awesome gay LI and I feel a human is more appropriate for that goal...

Regardless of who ends up being LIs, i somehow feel it'll be nearly impossible for me to choose between them.

I have to Disagree with some of that, I could see Vivienne as being Bisexual, and Scribbles being Bi or Gay, Leliana is a NO, Varric, its about time he man up and get back on the horse. Iron bull is probably straight, and the Warden is Papa-Bear, he's like everyones Dad while on Vacation, but i could see him being Straight.

Ladies:
Cass: Bi. Most BioWare plot armored leading ladies are, and someone has to follow in Liars and Lelianas footsteps
Sera: Bi. Until proven otherwise she still strikes me as Lady Zevran
Vivienne: Straight, but like Aveline she won't be an LI. Sadly.
Scribbles: Actually get a straight vibe from her. Somewhat akin to a merchant version of Anora/Kelly
Leliana: Bi, but only available if the Warden didn't romance her
Gents:
Cullen: Straight. Hasn't expressed anything for men in Origins or DA2
Solas: Bi. Can't see them going any other route for the sole male elf
Varric: Straight, but Biancasexual and not playersexual
DHMG: Gay or Bi.
Iron Bull: Blood axsexual. Could care less about 'romance'
BeardWarden: Unavailable regardless
Cole: Asexual

So, minor concern, but am I the only one fearing that set sexualities are going to bring us a lot of previous relationship stories? because I hate that, and I have the feeling that it's seems to be one of the great advantages of the system
it's not only that I don't think it's the most interesting topic of conversation with someone you're attracted to, but in ME it became too often the only topic... I really don't want anymore widowers, or people traumatised about their first love and things like that... I hope that's not the fleshing out we're being promesed ![]()

That's amusing. Bah, let me try:
Cullen - straight
Solas - bi
DHMG - gay
Varric - Bianca
Iron Bull - No ©
Warden - uncle
Cole - jesus christ, a child and a spirit? Get away from me, demon!
Cassandra - bi
Sera - bi
Vivienne - who are you?
Scribbles - gay
Leliana - bi, but twice? I don't think so.

In DA2, I go so sick of how all the LIs boiled down to, "Woe! No one could ever love me!" Each one was fun in its own way, I just didn't need a whole game of it.

Most people are predicting Scribbles as gay and Cullen as straight, but doesn't this kinda screw over femquisitor? I mean NPC LI's are all well and good, but most players would agree that they'd prefer to romance a companion if they can, unless an NPC really grabs them. If Scribbles is gay, and Cullen is straight this means there's at most 2 LI companions available to femquisitor, and perhaps, depending on how they do it, as little as 0. Meanwhile we know that malequisitor has at least 1 companion LI, and, if they really do the 2/2/2 scenario as many as 4 supposing Cullen really is straight and Scribbles really is gay.

oh, yes, there's always so much emotional scars to be healed
I know there's people who enjoys that dynamic, but IMO we certainly need more variety, and I have a strong feeling being able to talk aboust past relationships it's not going to help...

when it comes down to sexual preference think about where everyone is coming from, i also doubt their all going to be Woe is me about romance like in DA:2, we wont need to carry ductape to keep our companions from slitting their wrists this time, dont worry. They All seem pretty mature and centered in their respective groups and circles and i feel some of them probably have been around a few times.

I just don't see both Solas and DHMG as straight, so that leaves Cullen as the only option. Solas - because he's the only "non-human" male romance option, and DHMG - Tevinter, plus as Cullen has already expressed his interest in female, he can't be a gay.

Well that's fine if he's the straight option, all I'm just saying is that if Scribbles is anything other than the straight option as well then there'll be an imbalance of companion romances available to each gender. This is of course assuming the 2/2/2 route.

Uhm well, I don't see Cass as a gay option, considering she's the "main" female romance, and I can't see Sera as gay either, considering she's the only "non-human" female romance, so that leaves Scribbles? I'd call Cass straight, but she's expressed interest in both male and female Hawke in DAII, so idk.

You make a valid argument, Cass is unlikely to be gay, and Sera will probably be bi. You're also right when you say that Cullen is probably straight. Which means that femquisitors like myself are probably just gonna have to deal. It's a bit disappointing, but we did get an extra LI in the last game, so I suppose it's not necessarily unfair that we should get fewer companion options this game.

For a certain definition of LI. He didn't bother showing up to comfort Hawke when her mother dies.

Or a final romantic dialog. At the end of the game, I didn't even know if I had done the romance correctly.

To be honest, I still think it's likely Sera is going to be the lesbian character. Making the NPCs both bisexual is literally the only way to make this system fair. Some people aren't going to get what they want with this system, but the most fair way to handle it is bisexual NPCs with one each gay/straight companion LI.
This isn't my ideal, at all, but it's pretty clear that somebody gets an unbalanced amount of options on any other path.

Do you think they will make elves unavailable to both genders? I find it very unlikely.

Cass strikes me as into ladies, and I'm not sure why. I think it's because of the way she and Leliana look at each other at the end of DA2. They exchange a Look and I immediately decided they were a couple.
(Partly because out of all my saves, I have romanced Leliana a total of once, so she's totally available!)
