I don't know why I get the feeling that Vivienne will be a Samara-esque character, as in introspective, conservative and possibly even spiritual. She strikes me as such just looking at her.

Oh I'm sure she will be. Samara was technically a love interest herself, just not a 'full' one.

Saying that Samara was technically a LI is a joke. If Viv had a romance on par the the Samara "romance" I'd honestly rather it not be there at all. Calling it a romance a stretch and kind of an insult. 

 

I'm not sure if she will or will not be an option and I'm not going to even guess. I can say I hope she is an option and if she  is an option that I hope she is available to a female inquisitor, but that is as far as I would go with that one.

There are 4 obvious female candidates for being romances, so either one won't be or 2/2/2 is wrong.

Saying that Samara was technically a LI is a joke. If Viv had a romance on par the the Samara "romance" I'd honestly rather it not be there at all. Calling it a romance a stretch and kind of an insult.

Samara was a 'love interest' because, IIRC, you could only flirt with her if you weren't already involved with someone else, otherwise the option was unavailable.

 

I don't really remember, though, so maybe someone can correct me on that. Either way, she wasn't a full-fledged romance option that grants the Paramour achievement, but she was there as far as flirting goes.

 

If Vivienne does end up being a romance option, however, I don't think she will be anything like Samara.

Flirting is just a small part of the romance path though.

You can flirt with Samara no matter what.  In ME1, I romanced Liara and the various flirt options (for Sam, Garrus, Thane, ect) all came up as normal.  I'll admit I had to reload a couple of times because I accidentally hit one and I'm staying loyal for Liara til the next game.

Just because you can flirt with someone does not equal romance. I'm sorry, but no... My point is that that is NOT a romance to me. I'm not talking about an achievement. I couldn't care less about achievements and they mean nothing as far as romance goes. What I am saying is that if Vivienne had a romance that was equal to what we got with Samara, I would be very disappointed and would rather not see anything at all. Calling it a romance to me is a joke, because it's not a romance at all.

She did show up a lot. I was reading old DA2 forum posts and a lot of people assumed she would be a LI. That is one of the reasons I don't assume one way or another. I hope certain characters are LI's but until it's confirmed, I'm not going to assume anything.

Thanks for the correction. I remember testing it out myself while I was involved with Thane. I must have selected wrong dialog options or something.

Frankly, I was never a fan of these 'teaser romances' in ME2. Samara turns you down, Morinth kills you, and Kelly.... does something with you in your cabin. So I'm going to be crossing my fingers to not see them return in DA:I.

Aveline, Varric and Isabela were marketed more than any other character if I recall correctly. Doesn't bode well for Varric/Viv/Solas .

I'm fairly sure that Viv won't be an LI, and I actually hope she isn't one, in all honesty. 

 

I wouldn't be very happy if all female LI's were human, and having all of the female companions be LI's would be really questionable.

I for one won't lose any sleep if Viv isn't a love interest. She's gorgeous, but I find her personality(from what we seen so far) ... how do I put this politely... less than appealing.

i wanna see how cullen and varric will be in romance....and hopefully enjoy them alot since varric looks more attractive in dai xD

I just really, really hope that everyone is happy with the romances. I've been lurking in the character threads, and seeing everybody there so intrigued and already falling in love with them and knowing that they won't be able to have the relationship they want with some of them makes me sad. I hope they'll be able to find other characters they'll like just as much to ease the blow if a character they have their hearts set on turns out to be unavailable. I guess I should just quit being all squishy and sensitive and go back to stalking Scuttlebutt, but.... Just wanted to express my sentiments for my fellow forumites.

Yeah I mentioned stuff to that effect a few times.

 

People make such awesome fan art/write fanfic before we can be sure about everything.

That level of investment is just asking for people to get disappointed.

 

I dont hate it like some people have said. 

I just worry that people will be devastated on release
