I hope that in DA:I, if one of our LIs refers to us as either "My Lady" or "M'lord" or something overly formal like that, we get the option to tell them to knock it off. :) I don't mind if them doing that is part of their character, but it'd be cool if we could let part of our Inquisitor's character be that he/she doesn't like formalities (especially in a relationship!).

(Whether or not Nate was genuine or mocking her, if someone used that kind of formal language to me, I'd probably assume they were making fun of me. Esp coming from a guy who's basically a noble speaking to someone on a lower social/class ladder. That's why it read to me as teasing.)

Origins had plenty of opportunities for us to tell someone to use our first name... they either said nope, I'm calling you the warden. Or I will, and just didn't.

Your headcannon of him is surely a great source. With all do respect.

Heh, no headcanons in my case. Just facts
You can headcanons all you want that he was "trolling" her, though

What type of person you believe him to be? ... Okay.

Nathaniel have been raised in a noble family, remember. Years away from the enviroment can't completely erase his education. He was probably used to refer to women with formal names and all. And even with her harsh personality, Velanna is still a good looking, intelligent, accultured (of course more in her people ways, than in human's, but is still culture.) strong woman.

A person like Nathaniel, who have been raised to treat in a gallant way noble women, can find those characteristics wort of the same treatmant, and well, maybe is just his way to flirt (in an old fashion manner). At least, that how he seems to me, expecially in the dialogue where he complimented her.

I just can't see his flirtirting with Velanna as simply joking. is not like Zev and Morrigan, where at the end we have the revelation that Zevran had a bet with Alistair.

What bet? And how was it revealed? I think I missed something in origins.

Their last banter goes like this:

  • Zevran: Has anyone told you what marvellous eyes you possess, my dear?
  • Morrigan: Again with the flattery? Do you not tire from these pointless exercises?
  • Zevran: In Antiva, women are accustomed to being showered with the praise they deserve. Men should worship you at your feet as you pass.
  • Morrigan: They don't find that incredibly annoying?
  • Zevran: They are goddesses receiving their subjects, just as you should be. Whatever would be annoying about that?
  • Morrigan: I have no wish to be placed upon a pedestal.
  • Zevran: But you deserve no less. You should be admired by painters, copied by sculptors, exalted by poets! Surely you know that yours is a beauty so exotic it--it would turn the eye of the Maker Himself!
  • Morrigan: Well, I suppose I...
  • Alistair: By the Maker! You were right! You win, I guess.
  • Zevran: Thank you, ser. I expect payment forthwith.
  • Morrigan: I hate you all.

What's more, if Leliana or Ogrhen are in the party instead of Alistair, then they will also tell him he won the bet. It seems like Zevran made a wager with all of them :). (I guess Sten, Shale and Wynne wouldn't bet.)

party banter.

Zev compliment Morrigan a few times, and when she admit is flattered, he said he have win a bet with Alistair. I can't remeber it well. I've hear it a lot of time ago.

Lol ok. I guess I missed that one cuz I rarely have morrigan and alistair together. Too much bickering like smal kids.

I will say that she does have a point here though. Even if she was very irritating, I don't think I have ever really hated companion. She was pretty wise once you got past her insults.

That kind of trolling just doesn't seem to fit Nathaniel's character. Where else do we see this sort of subtle mockery? His brand of trolling is biting sarcasm. It's more acidic and out in the open. If this was mockery, it's too subtle for what we see of his character in other interactions.

You didn't need Alistair. Just Morrigan and Zevran.

Hoping that Cassandra is available for both male and female. She is the only one that interests me.

I wouldn't mind the tradition of getting fresh Isabela in a tavern. IT IS TRADITION.

Isabella is a character who gives you the Duelist specialty for rogues in Dragon Age: Origins. You can do it one of two ways. One is to play cards and win (either through cheating yourself or by catching her cheating) or to have crazy monkey sex with her. Also possibly with Leliana, Alistair, or Zevran. Also possibly with Leliana and Zevran at the same time, resulting in a foursome.

Isabela is also one of the easier to manage romances in DA2 (also one of the least obnoxious romances). Same character. She will also have a three way with Hawke and Zevran if he survived DA:O (as in, you didn't murder him in the two occassions where you may do so).

Er, I know who she is, and pretty much the entire forum does as well.  I've done the group session in Origins, romanced her in DA2 and even did a group thing with her and Zev in Act 3.

I was just confused as to what the poster I quoted was talking about.

That's why I posted that response.

"Getting fresh with Isabella in a tavern is a Tradition!"

It's happened in each game thus far. Hence "It's a tradition!"

Huh?

In both DAO and DA2, we met Izzy in a tavern... so it would be nice to meet her again in a tavern (preferably with Hawke this time  ) so that will become a tradition. :P
