Ugh, "feminist conspiracy" that takes me back to a argument i had with a guy who was angry just cos female Hawke existed
Wait really?
That's...sad.

Wouldn't making the NPC bisexual give everyone the same number of choices? Granted, there's the problem of having only one LI in the party, but people might get disappointed by not having their favorite LI in the party regardless if they're straight, homosexual or bisexual.
Yes it would. If 2/2/2, then everyone has at least 1 companion LI and 1 NPC LI.

Yep, but there'd need to be two bisexuals NPCs and there's a lot of nasty pushback from certain sectors if you suggest that they might have 'turned' Cullen bisexual instead of straight so... *shrug*

Such is the natural advantage of being bisexual/playing a bisexual PC. More fish in the sea.
I don't think anyone has a problem with that tho. At least I've never seen anyone complain?
There's not really a way to make bisexuals having less options. And I think it's perfectly normal they have more choices.

Because then straight players STILL have more options. And we're back to what we had in DAO. DA2 wasn't perfect but it was progress. Let's not move backward. If we're gonna have a set sexualities system, then the only way it works is 2/2/2 or 2/4/2. Everyone gets an option exclusive to their gender/orientation and the straight players are not rewarded extras simply for being straight. Sounds good?
And what you wanted (my original quote from you) was the reverse of DA:O. Which is still moving backwards, with one party not being treated equally.
I'm glad you're now arguing for equality.

Oh my god, I was trolling. I said it RIGHT IN THE POST. *rolls eyes* People get so defensive if anyone even jokes about taking away the straight people's options, YEESH.

It could but then the whining and bitching and gnashing at the teeth about Cullen being "retconned" good lord.
(Also it'd mean Cassandra isn't bi and that'd break my heart cause I really don't find a vast majority of the male characters appealing.)

I doubt Bioware would care much about those complaints, consider their reactions with Anders' complaints.

This.
When you're more open to choices you get more. Simple. *shrug*

Maybe they should randomly generate which characters are interested in your character at the start of the game

Probably don't want to engage with him. He thinks there should be a 'reason' that characters are written gay, instead of making them gay for 'quotas'.

You did not say you were trolling in the post. Because my post quoted your post.
I'm not offended about taking away straight people's options, I'm offended by the idea that it's about punishing straight players for something they didn't do (the players didn't create the game after all).
And if you were trolling, I'm glad my comments have caused you annoyance, because trolling is bad. ![]()

Oooh they could have an affinity meter and it's RNG and maybe your PC could flip out on certain companions.
that'd be amusing. Well for five minutes til I started save scumming to get the option I wanted.
Yup, Gaider sure as hell doesn't give a flying duck about those people.
True.
So cullen and Scribe girl bi, Vivi gay, Cassandra straight, Solas (or IB or GW) gay, DHMG straight...I would like that. And it's fair enough you get one NPC choice and one companion choice.

To be fair I have seen people on these boards legitimately arguing that straight players should have less options or that there should be more non-straight options than straight options to "make up for the past".
It kind of jaded me about the whole thing, seeing that there were people on that side of the argument who were equally as bad as the people they were arguing against. In a way I sort of hoped those people would be stuck with only one option again just to spite them, as horrible as that makes me sound.

Was just before DA2 came out & i had online argument with a guy who was sh*tting on it not cos of the gameplay, romances or story but just that he thought BW was "pandering to the feminist agenda" & that it was "lame" they'd created a female version of Hawke

Maybe we should wait for the game to come out before we all jump on the "OMG OMG COME SEE THE OPPRESSION INHERENT IN THE SYSTEM!" train.

Wut. I just...wow. That's...something.
He does realize BW's games have been allowing you to pick your gender since BG right? That's...just such an odd thing to complain about. O_o
