That was an awfully longwinded way of saying, "I'm a homophobe and I don't want gay crap in my game."

 

 

More accurately, a privileged person, in that he believes that if a specific problem does not affect him (I assume it's a "him", sorry if I'm getting this wrong), then there is no problem.

 

I honestly think it's a combination of the two.  The tone of his little rant sounded to me that he was very much coming from a homophobic place as well as a privileged one.

 

As an aside, I'm still rolling my eyes at his "You can't have equal representation of your sexuality in the game because there are starving children in China" argument in particular.  Quite frankly, that was the most absurd and inane thing I've read in a while.

 

Oh well.  In the end, the devs have long since made it clear that they are on a side in this debate, and it's not his.

aaaaah loving the fanart of Dorian. It has raised my expectations exceedingly high for his in-game appearance

 

At this point I have absolutely no clue who the remaining LIs could be. Hoping for Blackwall, Dorian, Solas or Vivienne specifically, but either way I'll be happy (I already have my number 1 choice, Cullen   ). Whoever the LIs are I will do as many playthoughs as whatever gender or race necessary to get their loving'

So what will people do if they cant romance the character they want?

I see lots of "I REALLY WANT TO ROMANCE X!" comments or "I WILL NOT  BE HAPPY IF I CANT HAVE X!" discussions.

So what will people really do if they cant have the romance they want?

 

You adapt. Its that simple. Of course it helps to not have any expectations.  A lot of people have set themselves up to be massively disappointed but hopefully the rage will subside quickly and people will adapt.

But I'm sure I'll find someone who'll work fine. Bioware hasn't let me down yet. Except that one time with Jacob in ME3.

I'm predicting Varric will either not be romanceable or he will be restricted to dwarf Inquisitors.

 

Bioware gives but also takes away. I have a feeling we will be seeing alot of rejection dialogue for our Inquisitors.

Seeing Leliana in the new trailer today actually makes me more optimistic for non companions romances. Not that I expect her to be a romance, but if her, Cullen, and Scribbles aren't companions, then at least it seems they can get into big, dramatic situations.

I think everyone should have the possibility of LI, even like the Queen of Orlias, you would just have to work harder and differently for the queen vs a commoner vs a follower. It would be super cool to have the queen on your side, even if it ticked off the other countries like Fereldan

I hope Bioware break away from the typical 'Elf = Bisexual/Gay' thing, that's why I kinda hope Solas is a straight romance so it lessens the obviousness seeing as Sera is blatantly going to be Bisexual or a Lesbian (preferably lesbian).

I always saw it going the other way actually. I see Sera being straight and Solas gay if they aren't bisexual.

How does elf = bisexual? Where does that stereotype come from? There have been the same amount of bisexual elf companions in DA games as bisexual humans.

Yes but there's never been a non-Bisexual elf LI, while there's been two gender exclusive humans so far.

It's not a very strong trend when you take into account that DA2 had everybody who wasn't DLC being Bi.  So it basically amounts to Zevran.

Not it's not a strong trend at all, but it's enough to create the stereotype, and if both Solas and Sera are bi or gay, there will be a very definite trend of queer elves.
