But rightly so; this makes it more likely that there will be a companion romance of each sexuality.

 

EDIT: Adjusting my predictions in light of the announcement:

 

Straight: Solas, Scribbles

Bisexual: Cullen, Cassandra

Gay: Dorian, Sera

 

OR

 

Straight: Solas, Cassandra

Bisexual: Cullen, Scribbles

I mentioned this before, but I wouldn't be surprised if Varric was a fling/flirty option.  A full romance?  That would surprise me.

 

Yeah, I feel like a small side-romance or just a few flirty options (something like a Samara, Javik/Vega in the Citadel DLC, Kelly Chambers, Diana Allers, or Aveline type deal) would be most plausible. Love your avatar, btw, Deviija! Captain Marvel is awesome; one of my favorite superheroes!

Wow!  I can't believe that they revealed Sera as a lesbian on Heroes of Cosplay. 

 

I was just about to move on and do something else and now I have to watch my DVR'd episode of Cosplay to see what they say about Sera.

 

So there's three LI's:

 

Cassandra (unknown)

Cullen (unknown - likely straight or bisexual)

Sera (lesbian)

 

Now we just need to know the rest of them!  Only 3-5 more to go!

ETA:  Yep, words of Mark:  "Sera is a romance character for female Inquisitors only, actually."

It's funny, I was kinda gunning for Solas to be the gay companion (because I like him, whatever, shuddup). But my disappointment isn't as strong as my glee that they've confirmed Sera as being gay. I'm half gleeful because she seems like an awesome character to romance and may be fun for when I get around to making a female inquisitor, and I'm half gleeful because I'm remembering some people complaining that they were probably going to make the lesbian option an advisor because of dumb reasons.

 

And I like being right .

Yep, that is exactly in the vein that I am thinking.  There was a dev quote that responded to a question of whether Varric will be romanceable.  It was cagey.  But it is one of the reasons why I think it'll be a fling, as a kind of bone thrown to the fandom.  I'll welcome being wrong, though.

 

And thanks!  Captain Marvel is my favorite hero.  Carol Corps forever!

So I have mixed thoughts about Sera being f/f:

 

1.)  I'm happy because I think that they might not have Solas be gay now (both elves being gay seems odd if there aren't multiple gay characters), which makes it more likely that Dorian is the gay one!

but

2.)  This means that Vivienne is definitely not going to be f/f only, so unless she's the bisexual option (which I suspect will actually be Cassandra), it means that I might not have a f/f romance for my female inquisitor playthrough (not really feeling Sera).....
