You don't need to be human-like to be considered attractive in media. Hence all romance stories about dragons, werewolves, big cats etc

Turians were given rather attractive features by modern human standards: they're fit, yet not robust, their faces have these cat-like features and lines which make them resemble some types of dinosaurs, dragons and dragons

Their beauty is sort of animalistic but it surely was made to be appealing and not ugly (like vorcha are, for example)

Again, I'm not disputing any of that.  Been a fantasy fan for a day or three.  

 

That being said, why does Solas (for example) get so much hate?  He looks fine to me, just bald.  Frankly, from what I've seen in the DA games, elves can rock the bald look.  If Garrus is considered physically attractive, then what's so wrong with Solas?

 

He's alien enough to not be judged on human standards

Elves aren't human, and they've changed up the design to look less human, so I'm not sure what the issue is...

Isn't it odd that the second a character is confirmed to be romancable, then that become the sole important aspect of the character for the BSN?

 

Just look at Sera. People are busy whining or celebrating that she is a f/f romance. They completely ignore the fact that she is a former Friend of Red Jenny, or that she seems to a "Robin Hood" for the little guy in Thedas.

 

Oh no, let us instead focus on the least interresting aspect of ANY character..... ::Sigh::

Not everyone is interested in every character, some seem really really really really really uninteresting to certain people..like really Uninteresting.

He's very slender, very thin yet not in a fit way. Unless one is really young and really yaoi usually people don't like slim guys.

Yeah, being bald nowadays is not populair. Shaved - yus, bald? Nope. It kind of makes him visually resemble Zathrian

His face looks tired. Also lack of details like tattos or hair.

Due to this he appears to look quite old.

To each their own I suppose.  I think it's just too soon to judge.  

 

I figure that, well, who knows?  Some of the more unconventional looking companions could have the greatest personalities and make us feel silly for judging them on looks alone.  

 

Back to the wait and see game.

Hey, I'm not arguing with you in the slightest.  I tend to get amused by the level of scrutiny some of the new companions looks have gotten.  That's all.

I can't speak. Once I saw the picture of his face in detail, and not the horrble pics of the video, I was almost shoked he had such a good looking face. I may be strange, but I really like his facial features. And I'm usually attracted by long haired guys (Lords of the Rings is something akin to paradise for me)

 

The baldness (but I believe he shave his head, and is not really bald...he have eyebrows) make me think as if something done on purpouse. Like Sera's haircut. a not popular feature that is compensed by the character himself, just like Garrus's alieness is overcome by his character

Still kind of hoping we get the 2/4/2 model, but I can live with 2/2/2 (which is what I originally predicted anyway).

 

Straight: Cullen, Scribbles

Bisexual: Cassandra, Iron Bull

Gay: Dorian, Sera

 

Definitely pinning my hopes on 2-4-2 model as i view NPC romances as substandard.

Can't see Cassandra being anything other than Hetro-sexual after Sera announcement.

Hm alright, I get your point, he's indeed a bit more bland like other companions such as Dorian or Iron Bull, but that's kind of what makes me more interested in him. But hey everyone has their own opinions and preferences and I'm glad if some of us will atleast get a romance they want in the final product. Unfortunatly we can't all be pleased

Poor Solas, whether males or females, people avoid him like plague. I like him in National Treasure though.

Cullen is already confirmed as a LI, and Scribble girl is very likely as a result. I have a strong feeling that Solas is the straight options. I don't think they would make 2 elves gay, it would give certain impressions regarding elves.

True, that we don't any any dwarf romance, and unless Iron Bull is a LI, we won't have one for Qunari either. I don't think we wouldn't able to make a fair distribution for LIs in regard to race. We also haven't had a straight elf either, so it would break stereotype more by having a straight elf and a gay elf.

There are many other interesting aspects to Sera.  However, a lesbian LI is substantially interesting in and of itself, considering how *rare* it is to have a lesbian hero/starring cast in gaming (and in our media in general).
