The one thing I do have hope in for DAI's sense of "continuity" (whether you romance or not) is that it'd be pretty lame if they tried to pull off the "mysterious disappearance" and/or death again. How many protagonists have to keep going out like this? Surely, not three times.

Or so I think.

It'll be harder this time. They will have to make an entire organization go through the wizard's hat xD

I didn't find it offensive or ignorant.

Rings different for me. When I was a kid I once saw a teenager a few years older than me dance (was it flamenco?) at some sort of public event. I was utterly embarrassed only by the thought of being in his place. Though I've gotten over my fear of other people's audiences, the idea of saying what those guys said over the Internet makes me want to bury my head in the sand.

Making bad, offensive, ignorant jokes in a public space? Yeah, that fits my definition of stupid. Though admittedly said definition is rather broad.

Plus, I was disappointed the joke wasn't smarter. I actually looked up Vitamin D hoping for a scientific double entendre. What a letdown. Idiots.

U just mad you couldn't figure out something so obv.

It is important in my real life, so I would like to see it represented since me and millions of others feel that way.  Kind of the same principle as people who are LGBT want to see LGTB representation.

It's ... different, I think. Not the not-having-to-have-sex-to-be-in-love stuff, that I totally get, it's the "I need to see myself get MARRIED rather than have it be an epilogue" part I find a little confusing. 'Cause lemme tell you. Getting married was awesome. I love my husband to itty bitty bits. My marriage is important to me. But if you were playing through our romance, that absolutely could've been in an epilogue slide without losing anything. (And post-married, as much as I enjoy it, would be hella boring in a game. :P)

I guess I was hoping for a little more elaboration beyond "it's important!" What is important? Why? I want to understand! Like I lose absolutely nothing by that getting added in (although if I feel like the proposal is too rushed, I would be annoyed if it ended the romance, although honestly, if someone rejected my proposal, it would end the romance), so I'm cool with that getting tossed in somewhere, but I am genuinely curious why "epilogue slide" is not good enough, when I would think the emphasis on "sex is not a requirement to keep a relationship going pre-marriage" (which WAS present in DA:O) would be the most important aspect.

Yeah, that too  Though in my defense, as a writer I wish there were better sounding names for the genitals.

I'm sure all the words/root words/etymology somehow came from sailors a long time ago. What can you expect? :)

Some folks, like her, want to see it in game played out.  If there had been an actual wedding scene at the end rather than just a mention in a slide, then I would feel it would be represented well in game.  The best reason I can figure why they didn't put in a wedding between a Cousland and Alistair/Anora was because it would be a fair amount of content for a rather small portion of the playerbase.  There is an excellent mod for the PC that does give that wedding scene though.

I'm guessing my main stumbling block is that for me, marriage is an epilogue slide. I am currently living out my epilogue with my husband. I enjoy the hell out of my epilogue, but man. No one needs to play that. The exciting, dramatic parts are before that. :P

I think we've had different lives.  ;)  The "he said/she said" drama has quieted down, but there have been some really exciting and dramatic parts to my marriage.  Some for better, some for worse.  I'm one of those that thinks that marriage is the beginning, another step, not the end to being adventurous and while being monogamous.

Still, in order for that to really be shown in Dragon Age games, they'd have to probably sacrifice some of the word budget. Curse you word budget!!   While I love the romances in the more recent BW games, that's not my primary reason for playing (not trying to imply it's anyone else's main reason either, other than those that have said as such.)

Man, I hate epilogues. They just give such a vibe that the story is, like, over. I very much prefer neverending stories.

Which relates to my Carpe Diem comment earlier.

I'm not really into this myself (although I do encourage having a protagonist with a future... somehow), but I think skyrim handled this well. It wasn't about marriage, but building a house. Futzing around, doing little projects. That's part of settling down, I guess..but also can be made to be a decent gaming experience as well.

Finally gotten over the whole "no heteromance with Sera" thing. Still mildly disappointed, but I've stopped stewing over it like the first few hours. :)

I'd like to thank Netherrealm Studios for the catharsis factor of E3 Mortal Kombat X footage that made this possible. :P

I, for once, recently discovered my first Inquisitor (who I've realized I am almost as excited for as the writers for their own characters xD) is likely to die alone. Literally, too! That would make him the... third so far? Gotta keep up the tradition of one per game!

I'm happy for other Sera fans, but I admit, it does put a dent in some of my plans. I wanted to be a Dalish mage for a change.. and she seemed like a cool character. I already felt odd since Solas kind of takes over the male elf mage (with a deep connection to the Fade) thing, but no other elf romance options to boot. Two things going against me here. So I've thrown that concept out.

My namesake (I may have switched letters around a little) made his son a bride out of flowers so... there's always that as a backup plan for both of our characters. Of course, she turned out a treacherous, conniving schemer, but hey, details.

It's funny.. I might just end up the standard human warrior champion/templar type. The most popular class combo of DAO, I think. Which I avoided.

It's something I should try though. I've done all kinds of rogues and mages.

Never had much he said/she said drama in our relationship in general, truth be told. Our drama was less about us and more about ~circumstances~. (long distance relationships that begin on the internet before that's even close to an acceptable thing can be stressful) It's less that I think married life is dull and boring, and more that what it's the beginning of is going to be boring to the vast majority of people not me or my husband. We overcame our obstacles, we got married, now we're in the happily ever after part that absolutely can get handwaved away by the person writing the story because I am pretty sure no one wants to read about how we play SWTOR together or picked up kendo or anything. And that's cool, people don't have to care that I still think he has a cute butt and that we love doing stuff together, it's just ... really not that interesting from a story standpoint.

Although let's be real, I don't think anyone would be especially interested in the before marriage part either for us, so ... perhaps not the best example. ;)

Meh Viv and Cassandra Both Seem More intresting (and more attractive) then Discount Tallis.

Married people are so boring that I don't even hang around married friends anymore. ;)

No, just kidding. They do get boring though once kids come into the picture. It's cute and all, but I'd rather leave them all to their fun and Disneyland trips. And I'm sure they don't care what I think either.

Um, they've barely released anything on her.  She's an elf, an archer...and suddenly she's a Discount Tallis?   Aside from her lack of Qun connection, less of a direct purpose (Tallis was around for a direct and personal mission,) different styles of combat all together, not even looking the same...yeah, I can't see the comparison.  Sera already seems much more of a rounded character.  I personally don't hate Tallis (except for her Uncanny Valley character model,) but I'm very glad that Sera is looking very different so far from her.

Sera is cooler to me just for being a secular/urban thief type. Tallis might've been that at one point, but she's just a religious freak now.

And I make no apologies by saying that it's bad, in my eyes.

It's kind of like what Isabela says to Sebastian. "Why couldn't I have met you in the past...?"

I thought it was referenced she was part of the Friends of Red Jenny? or did I read that wrong?
