Um, they've barely released anything on her.  She's an elf, an archer...and suddenly she's a Discount Tallis?   Aside from her lack of Qun connection, less of a direct purpose (Tallis was around for a direct and personal mission,) different styles of combat all together, not even looking the same...yeah, I can't see the comparison.  Sera already seems much more of a rounded character.  I personally don't hate Tallis (except for her Uncanny Valley character model,) but I'm very glad that Sera is looking very different so far from her.

There both qt Elf rogues with a complicated  pasts and Street smarts.

You're right. I wouldn't be surprised if she was actually their leader, or one of the leaders.

Great points and it makes her a neat character, but I guess I don't see that being a "Discount Tallis." Maybe it's because I think Tallis was either lying to Hawke or herself about the Qun.   To each their own, but I still think it's too soon to just slap that label on Sera.  Plus, Tallis only seemed passionate about the one friend she talked about, if only to kill him and redeem him (as well as herself) for the Qun.  That's something I could never see Sera doing.

 

Poor thing.  She's already been called a Zevran clone, an Isabela clone even before they revealed her sexuality, and suddenly she's now a Tallis clone....

The quote floating around about the Iron Bull is that he'll bed anything that he doesn't have to worry about breaking. I don't know the source or context for it though.

If it's legit though, I'm surprised more people haven't latched onto it.

Is it just that fewer people find him attractive than Blackwall, Cullen, and Dorian, so they don't want the Bull to take a romance slot?

Bull is strongly hinted BI.

Fixed that for you.  There was a comment from E3 about how IB will "hop into bed with anyone he can't break," so the fans strongly suspect that he is bi.  It isn't 100% confirmed though.

 

The Iron Bull really loves life outside the demands of the Qun, now that he’s gotten used to it, and he does everything big. He overeats, drinks himself sick, and will hop into bed with anyone he’s reasonably sure he won’t break. He’s been close to death enough times to appreciate life whenever he has the chance.

I don't see the problem in making every character Bi. It worked fairly well in DA2, as each gender got a "taste" of everyone.

Tallis is anti-authority?

 

She joined a group that tells you what your identity "truly is". An anti-authoritarian would tell themselves. Hell, I'm not sure an anti-authoritarian would even visit a career guidance counselor. Let alone the Qun.

I know right?  She did something even she says is technically within the Qun ("They didn't tell me not to do it,",) so I'm not feeling the inner rebel coming from her.

 

Unlike Sera, whom I think would learn cuss words in as many languages as she can just to taunt people.

I'd advise stating anything about that as concrete though.  It's strongly hinted, but unless a member of the DA team confirms it, I won't be 100% convinced.

 

...That being said, I hope he's available as a bisexual romance.  While he isn't to my taste, he is a nice change from some of the other male LIs.  He's got some real muscle and size to him, something that I haven't seen for a homosexual or bisexual romance in Dragon Age yet.   The character Cortez was a m/m relationship, but he's an NPC.  Some posters have varying opinions on how much more a companion romance means versus a NPC one.

 

 

Blackwall went up my list, simply because Sheryl is writing him. I don't even like the Wardens, but there isn't one character of hers I don't like.

You know how many people want Blackwall for a romance, even if it's implied his story is tragic?  Or even more so because of it?

Agreed.  I think that the speculation is strong in the IB thread.  I'm not sure if it means that he will actually be an Li, but I think it's safe to say that he will bisexual even if he's not romanceable.

No, I mean.. I won't delve into the romance in-game probably. Still a straight guy here. I have faith he'll be a great character though.

I know straight guys that enjoy having m/m relationships in the ME and DA games.   My husband enjoyed being a female Trooper and experiencing the straight romance in ToR.  It's all just role playing.  

 

I'm not trying to give you a hard time though. I can understand just personal preference, as I don't do the m/m relationships in those games as well.  Just not for me, although I think I can safely say both you and I are very happy that the option is there for our fellow gamers.
