It was in examiner.com - here is the clip: "Finally, another fan also wanted to know if “Dragon Age Inquisition” will include a surprising romance options similar to Cauthrien in “Dragon Age Origins.” Mike Laidlaw responded by teasing that it wouldn’t be a surprise if he were to spoil it in advance, ending the short message with a wink. But...Cautherin wasn't a romance option so...wut.

 

 

I got the sense it meant that now Anders will tell you about his relationship with Karl all the time. 

 

Oh I'm all for that. :3 Stuff like Jack only mentioning her boyfriend that died for her if Shep was romancing her or Shep only being able to comfort a romanced Miranda was bs.

So there are two things I don't understand:

 

1.)  There was a Cauthrien romance in DA: O?

and

2.)  Isn't saying, "If I told you, it wouldn't be a secret.....<wink>", really just a joke usually?  I'm not sure if this means there's a secret companion.....

I don't think there's a secret companion. They said 9 and we've seen 9. If there's a secret romance, it's probably an NPC.

I'm going to guess they meant the Anora romance and confused the name of the characters.

No, I wouldn't take it to mean that there's a secret companion.
