They are just fans like the rest of us.  Pretty much like most folks in the world, some end up lacking common sense and good priorities over others.   It doesn't make it any less eye rolling, but I try to ignore them for the most part.

You're too kind.

When I hear things like this, I just get flashbacks of my military dad, forcing me to get crew cuts when I was young.

WHAT. D: These people clearly have absolutely no taste. You can't go wrong with pixie cuts and bangs.

It was really ridiculous in her fan thread for a bit.  Over a hair cut.   I think it's cute too, as well as practical for an archer.  Then her sexuality announcement hit and suddenly posters were all over that.  However, getting folks to discuss her Red Jenny connection has helped shift some of the focus off of her sexuality.

Set sexualities: Causing fan threads to derail daily!

Okay, that was a little uncalled for.  I'm a little bitter, but I'll get over it.

How so?  I hope it isn't over the hair thing.  I had a brief period of mourning when my husband had to cut his hair that was to his mid-back short.  He has thick hair and got tired of it wrapping around his throat while he slept.

To be fair, the majority was talking about the quality of the hairs, not the haircut.

Her hair was bad in the reveal picture.  Which is only reinforced by how much better it looks now, after they've clearly given it a few tweaks

No.. it's just when people criticize stuff like this... they remind me of my dad a bit. Not to get too personal.. I love my dad, but he's just very square, very military.. thinks he knows what's "normal" or not.

And to really derail this, it's why I hate the Qunari so much. It's a whole culture of squares, hellbent on "normalizing" everything, as they see it. :D

I read that as well, and it was understandable.  I wasn't much better when the very first trailer was revealed and I saw Varric.  I did, however, read some posts that were complaining that her hair wasn't long anymore.

We'll avoid the derail, but suffice to see we agree here.

Anyone complaining about her hair is sheltered in the middle of Kansas or something.

Ah, that's understandable. I tend not to worry about texture quality as I play on a PC and someone will probably release a texture mod sooner or later anyway, but it sucks for console gamers when it looks terrible.

I think the game is still in very early beta (from the Tweets I've seen,) so I expect things to still look a little rough.  There is still 4 months to continue smoothing out bugs and textures.

Well, see, now with this new system, some characters will be locked off to you for arbitrary reasons. Now only some people win.

It's about as new as Origins, I guess. Only real difference is that there's at least one that is strictly same sex this time around.

I use the term "everyone wins" because it is an actual term referring to a situation in which everyone has a satisfactory resolution.

I don't view women or men as a "prize" if that's what you are implying.

My apologies. It's actually pretty late where I am, so my tired mind probably read too much into the individual words.

I've also gotta ask: Am I the only one that is a little skeptical of the romances in DA being this high being...well, of a potential loss in quality?  I'm concerned that with 6 or more LIs that the friendship arcs would suffer.  I'm not using any ME references because while I'm sure the two teams talk, they aren't the same and have different approaches with their storytelling.

Don't get me wrong, as I know I'm going to enjoy the game.  I'm just a little leery that's all.

tbh, I'm thinking in the exact opposite direction. As in, the romances will basically be friendships with added smooches and not actually that much special content, because that's easier than writing both romances and friendships. Maybe I'm just cynical though.

Some extra lines of dialogue and a cutscene (or two). Don't think romance will matter to the plot and they may have already said as much in the interviews.

Fair enough.  The ME team did it very well with the character Garrus, so I'm hoping some of that writing style was also used by the DA team for Inquisition.  I haven't done the Garrus romance yet, but the friendship was outstanding.  I didn't feel like I was missing out even though I didn't choose his romance.  I have a bit of a fear that if I don't/can't romance a particular character in Inquisition, then any friendship arc is going to be shallow.  It's not really what I think is going to happen, but it is a concern of mine.

Eh, I dunno. If the quality of the writing is good and there is at least something for everyone, then I think it's fine. What concerns me more is how friendship progresses.

I don't expect them to go over the moon with variations in dialogue, but it only really needs to vary with a couple of lines to make a difference. In any case, friendship and romance don't really need to differ too much anyhow, since presumably, someone you're romantically involved with is also your friend. Just having a flirty line here or there that serves as a reminder would be sufficient.

The whole turian thing will always be too weird to me, but I agree about the way it's written. I understand why some people dislike the auto-bro thing that Garrus has with Shepard, but I for one embraced his camaraderie with my femShep.

Putting this here as it's romance related.  Just a general note to please not taunt people because they are not able to romance a character they were looking forward to romancing (whatever that reason may be).

Thanks!

You'd think so, but there are cousins of mine that show otherwise...

I think most of us are sick of the trolling about romance choices at this point.  There's been a piece of fan art that was pretty tasteless, but mainly it's been quiet on the home front.

Yeah, I can see why that would be a concern but they've done pretty well in the other games IMO. At least I always felt like I had meaningful relationships with the characters, romance or not, especially in DA2. So I don't think you'll have to worry much!
