I'll go with my gut on this one, it has served me well in the past.

 

Dorian - gay LI

Blackwall - Straight LI

Solas - Not LI (I don't get that vibe from him)

Cassandra - Straight LI

Vivienne - Bi LI

Iron Bull - Bi (can have sex) but not LI (due to Qun views on love differing completely from lust)

Varric - not LI (bianca's the only one for him)

Cullen - Straight LI, mayyyybe BI

You should record it and put it up on a live stream.  You haven't lived until you play a fem Shepard in Mass Effect, as an example.

Plus, as I was told by my (straight) husband, trying out the romances as a hetero person of the opposite can be fun.  My male Hawke was straight and I had a damned fine time with it.  Yet, as you and I talked about a month or two back, it isn't always easy to do.

Nice reference.  Much of the current DA team worked on the first Neverwinter Nights game.  And DG wrote his romance as well.  Too bad the character is just that forgettable.

tbh, Isabela always struck me as coming from somewhere in northern Africa or the Middle East if we're looking for a real world analogy. I know a couple of Syrians with similar facial features and tan skin.

People get emotional, and it's clear a lot of people really like our games and the romance content is a part of that.  I appreciate your comments and hopefully your impressions of the other characters can be challenged in a positive way and make you go "hey this person's pretty awesome too."

I do not know.  I suspect they will, since some have already been released.  If not *ALL* of them, I'd wager most of them (like maybe at least one for each representation).  But I'm just guessing, I don't know for certain.

this is what my gut tells me.

I can see males having 2 straight options but I don't see straight females having more option. DA2 is an exception I guess, but I always see Sebastian as a way for Bioware to "fix" the playersexual complain. I don't think he was supposed to be a LI. If Cullen and Blackwall are both romanceable, one is likely to be straight while the other is bi.

You should definitely try playing the Mass Effect games as femshep, because shutting sexist idiots down with Renegade interrupts never gets old. So so satisfying everytime.

I was just saying that.  Even as a Paragon shep, shutting down the few sexist idiots in the games never ever overstays its welcome.

I doubt Allan is at a liberty to share that information. Pretty sure you can find some at the brothel, but I doubt straight males will have any non-humans LI as we already know all the companions. We may have a fling though with NPC like with DAO, maybe. Females may have Ironbull and Qunari. Most of the non-humans companions are males afterall.

Mate, you're preaching to the choir here, I'm firmly team playersexual, too. But Bioware has made their stance on it clear and we just have to accept that they value representation over the accessability of LI, and tbh, that is something I can absolutely appreciate, especially as someone who's part of the LGBTQ+ community, because they're at least coming from a well-meaning place.
It is what it is. The game's not going to change. So what you can do instead is make the best out of it. And one of the ways to do that is to see it as an adventure in perspectives. I prefer playing a female inquisitor, too. But if I have to play a male one to romance Cassandra I'm going to give it a try, because why the heck not.

I REALLY REALLY hope not, because the interview stated that he would sleep with anyone, and we don't need more slutty bisexual characters like Zevran and Isabella for people to reinforce the old stereotype that bisexuals are all promiscuous, so they're understandably bisexual. Someone doesn't need a reason to be bisexual.

It's strongly implied that he became bi because he was groomed that way by the Crows.  Some of what he describes could even be called child abuse. It never felt to me like he was born that way, rather became that way because he was forced to.  Your Mileage May Vary of course, and I know there is fans that would be quick to dispute that.  I respect their views, but it always bugged me some.

 

That isn't even getting into the "bisexuals are promiscuous" aspect.
