Solas......?

Solas......?
NO
I think that's going to change. Hearing info that makes me think Dorian is gay. Which annoys me greatly. Not because of any issue with m/m as I love Alix Wilton Regan and it's looking like my options are a guy I'm meh on and an ox.
What info? Aww ![]()
So I have Cullen or Ox dude...yay.
Please don't let Solas be m/f exclusive. Bi? Fine. But I'd rather have Cullen be m/f exclusive...
I was actually thinking of modding the hair of companions, not the PC's xD
Ooooh. XD I mostly use it on my PC.
Though I did use Maricstair and the Dragon Age Redesigned Leliana.
NO
I don't want him either though ![]()
Can't he be bi and we share ![]()
People speculate that Dorian is the S/S romance right now on the twitter thread here is why i guess:

I think they should make Dorian bi. Everybody wants to twirl dat stache.
I can't help, but throw this out there. Isn't it as off putting that so many call Isabella a sexpot just because of her appearance and openness with really enjoying a roll in the sheets? If she were a he, she would have been a "stud" by most accounts (not all), but have a female not afraid to show her curves and enjoy some carnal delights and she is a sexpot or worse? Just as it is disturbing that Aveline wasn't "feminine" enough for some and Merrill was too "childlike" because of her small, less curvy frame... isn't it just a little disturbing that Isabella is seen as a sexpot? Isn't it wrong to attribute her behavior to her sexuality or style of dress? Unfortunately, if the romances for DA:I are only those shown around the Inquisitor table, we don't have anyone in a similar attire to see if that was part of the perception of Isabella. I am already seeing some similar perceptions being placed on Cassandra that were placed on Aveline, so it makes me a bit sad that women have to look or act a certain way still in order to not be boxed in to one of 3 categories. We should know that the LIs for DA:I will have much more to who they are than their outward appearances... if we take the time to get to know them. There could be various levels of romance from casual to passionate. It shouldn't make a female character "bad" if she happens to be more into a casual thing anymore than one who wants a commitment before sex would make her a "prude". It should be the same for her as it would be for a Male LI who is the same way. If the Iron Bull is bisexual and a romance who is more interested in casual relationships, would he be perceived as poorly as Isabella (who in fact does want something more judging by the sad expression when she leaves in Act 2, but is afraid) and be held up as an example of bad representation of bisexuals the way Isabella is or would he be immune from the intense scrutiny because he is male?
It's just a texture replacement though. I doubt that's going to be impossible to mod. It's the more intricate mods like adding content such as additional quests, additional lands that's gonna become downright impossible to do.
Also skin tone being harder to mod also comes in the players adding more tones variety. So if you don't like BW's default skin tones? Want a darker skin tone than BW has available or a lighter one? Welp you're outta luck.
But yes it's a YMMV situation.
I also wanted to state that this could prevent some other iffy mods from happening in any short timeframe. Another one is the "Romance Bethany" mod were you turn a companion (I believe Merrill) into a clone of Bethany's appearance. I can understand that she's pretty, but my gods, that was another disturbing find.
The folks that are willing to take a shot at modding Frostbite aren't probably most of the crowd that did the huge appearance change (no, smaller ones that change your companions clothes don't really count imho) and romance mods. I'm hoping the more dedicated modders can help us down the road.
Still, I don't see what the big deal a lack of mods would be, other than ones that fix bugs (looks over at Awakening.) Console players largely have to do that anyhow and it hasn't stopped them from loving or hating the games as much as any PC gamer would.
Wow, I think I'm starting to completely fly off topic here. Sorry about that.

The thing is, of course individual people being individually promiscious is not at all a problem and in fact I encourage everyone to do whatever they like in the bedroom. But unfortunately characters don't exist in a vacuum, and the cultural context for Isabela is not only that women in video games are often oversexualised but also that women of colour are often incredibly oversexualised and that bisexual characters in media are very often seen as promiscious. It's an incredibly unfortunate combination of stereotypes.
I don't have anything against Isabela the character. I love her and I'm not judging her in any way for what she enjoys. But Isabela doesn't have agency the way a real person does because she's a fictional character written by actual people, who are very much capable of perpetrating harmful stereotypes, even if they do it accidentally.
And yeah, I would roll my eyes at promiscious bi Iron Bull, too.
I just wanted to point out something. It isn't serious, but just a fun fact.
So far in Bioware games, every exclusively gay LI has a name that starts with the letter S: Samantha, Sera, Steve.
Umm.. Solas? Is that our gay option then? XD

I ended up judging Zevran the same as Isabela, and I believe he isn't a great representation of bisexual men in particular. So in this case, gender makes zero difference to me on how sick I am of the "all rogue bisexuals are promiscous trope (with Leliana being a blessed exception to this.) While it was pointed out to me earlier that not all of the confirmed bisexual characters are horndogs, most of the bisexual rogues so far have seemed to be. I think that's a trend that just changed though, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds.
Umm.. Solas? Is that our gay option then? XD
Semi-confirmed, you heard it here folks. ![]()

I wish everyone was bi/playersexual again...
So you guys think they are going to do a 2/4/2 [Homosexual - Bisexual - Heterosexual] split or a 2/2/2 splint on romance? Or something else?

Initially, I would have said 2/2/2/, but for some reason, Iron Bull's character profile shook up all my speculations...

Isabella reminds me of Jack in ME2, though on the outside but very sensitive insides.
Isabella is care free spirit, and that's the only reason people assume she is slutty. This assumption of cause is one pushed upon by the media (TV shows especially)

I think that 2/2/2 is most likely. It's still more romances that there has been in BW games and I think 8 is scretch. Of cource the more the merrier but I don't believe they are writing that many for us.

My money is on 2/2/2...and that is with the NPC characters. IF they split it like this no one knows but it seems somewhat logical ![]()

I get what you are saying, but I am trying to think of another example of this stereotype in media and I am honestly drawing a blank and was looking for some guidance as I have only seen Isabella cited and it always seemed more to me that she was being pointed to more because she is a woman than if she had been a male. I say this because, Zevran is far less cited than Isabella and he is very similar with his openness. I am just wondering why Isabella is thrown front and center as either a bad representation or some idiotic idea that all bisexual women are into threesomes. Both perceptions make me raise a brow and go "Huh?"
Just going to drop something Mr. Gaider said over in the Cassandra thread.
As for the "rage" regarding people discovering that a character on whom they'd already pinned their romantic hopes suddenly isn't available to them (either by way of gender or race, which are both possibilities in DAI) -- them's the breaks. One can either deal with their disappointment in an in-game manner (nothing like actually interacting with a character rather than thinking about them solely in the abstract), they can play as a different PC (if romancing that one character is the most important thing to their game), or they can come to the forums and complain about how them not getting that option in the game is somehow a violation of their rights or part of a larger socio-political conspiracy. It won't get them anywhere, but so long as they do it politely and are considerate of other posters, they are certainly free to vent their frustrations.

I do think the fact that she's not a dude plays into it with some, but I also think it's the fact that it's three oversexualised "minorities" (not really in the case of women but you get what I mean) put together.
As for more examples, oh boy, peruse to your liking. Alternatively this one.
Apparently DAI's romances will include race restrictions. Interesting.
It's like the devs loved wallowing in some fans' outrage ![]()
I could be wrong, of course.
Edit: Ninja'd. It's two of us now, so no ![]()

I personally think it's problematic that both Zevran and Isabela are held up by some as "model" bisexuals, because they fit the preconceived notions of how bisexuals are supposed to be. It's not shaming Isabela to say she's promiscuous...like Zevran, she enjoys sex, and isn't ashamed of it, so I don't see it as an automatic negative to bring it up in discussions of sexuality of characters. It is stereotyping, however, to say that all bisexuals are like Zevran and Isabela in their outlooks on sex, which is why I bring them up (together, I don't hold Isabela to a different standard than Zevran) in these cases.
I really don't mind female characters who enjoy sex and are happy to talk about it...I don't relate to that, but it's not a bad thing in itself. It's when we see the trope of the promiscuous bisexual repeated, and trotted out as example of how to "realistically" portray bisexuals, that I'm skeptical. The choices that the writers make don't exist in a void, and we should be able to examine them even when we enjoy the individual characters.

Iffy mods are only a small percentage of mods released. Feels like trying to cut your nose off to spite your face.
LOL you'd be surprised.
That's fair enough I find it plenty of a bum move. As for fixing bugs you say that like it's a minor feature. Also yeah Console players who often can resell their games and buy their consoles cheaper than a PC gamer buys a video card.
But yeah agree to disagree and all that.
