So, as far as I am concerned that is nowhere near confirmation, so everybody needs to calm down.

Race and gender restrictions? What is this, 1996 again with Baldur's Gate. Why have both? That is just plan silly to me. Having the gender restricted due to sexuality is one thing, but race as well? Or if it was racially restricted, it has to be by gender too? If this is trying to encourage replays, then it doesn't work for me.
That being said, I wouldn't take a "could be this way" comment as even strongly hinting at race restrictions at this point. It's best to not assume anything unless directly told otherwise by the DA team. No need to get upset over something DG might have been trying to hint at.
Actually, he states both race and gender restrictions are possible in the game. If you live expecting the worst, all your surprises will be pleasant ![]()
Man...this is shaping up to be BG2 again...
I hope the straight female Lis aren't all clawing at my mhumanQuisitor's pants. That'd be annoying as ****.
He didn´t say ihe was into dwarves, he said he was not into humans, not the same
..but then again, there is Bianca...
He hasn't seen her in over 10 years (not for real, anyhow) so the fixation on his crossbow has gone from endearing to a little creepy if the writers decided that he's still too attached to it.

I've found as I've gotten older that isn't a healthy way to live all the time. Instead, I'll assume nothing until told otherwise, then deal with it from there. Pessimism is draining after awhile. ![]()
I'm not sure I'm understanding you correctly. Are you talking about how certain races will get less options as opposed to humans because of these restrictions?
Yep. Considering in DAO humans made up more than 70% of the player base restricting LIs to not be receptive to humans would be pretty bold.

Only Cass will, she's only for qunaris now. semi confirmed rumor.

Devs have been known to **** with us for pure yolo factor alone.
Until we get official confirmation, eh.

I've never played BG2. How 'bad' was it?
Race restrictions.. that might make things quite hard. I hope not, I don't want to be stuck with only 1 romance choice for my characters so I would need to change up races of my characters if that's case.. sigh who I can romance with my qunari lady.
IF the race thing is real, i will have alot of uncomplete playthroughs when i look for what race and gender can romance who...mesh...
Calm the hell down. As far as we know, there could very well be NO race gating in DAI. And if there is, well, we will have to deal with it. That being said, I don't think there will be race gating.Do not try and stem my righteous fury at this possible outrage!

Only popular and tall races got romance options. Dwarfes, gnomes ect where sol.

I see.
I have to admit, I wasn't really expecting this myself. I do think it's a pretty bold move on their part. Considering it's the first time BioWare has done something like this (or is it?), it should be interesting to see how it pans out in the grand scheme of things.
True. Now we need choice restrictions.
Yes, but unlike gender and race restrictions, who should always allows for options, choice restrictions should shut down romances with no compensations.

The ladies had one option for a romance (which didn't have good response from the female playerbase, according to DG,) and there was no bisexual options (gay or lesbian options? forget it.) Straight men certainly won out, with three (elven/half-elven) ladies to choose from. So while I'm not afraid of getting the LI I don't want (LIs are nice, but not the reason why I play BW games,) nor am I afraid of the lack of choices, it's just the dual racial and gender locks that take me back in a bad way.
In all seriousness, even if true, there are better things to get worked up about. Like, for example, the lack of decent hair in the what has been shown of the game xD
Oh, it's begun.
I'm just at that point of anger where it's congealing in on itself into a slow burning calm.
I'm at that point where i'm thinking people put way too much time and energy fixating on which selection of pixels they can bang.

Hey as long as she goes for FemQunari's I'll deal ![]()

I like the hair.

Then why go into romance threads? And many could care less if they "bang" these companions, by the way. ![]()

Just roll with either a human straight male with Cass, a human/elf female with Cullen or a human/elf female with Sera as your first playthrough; by the time you'll finish, every romance will be dissected and it's succesful path uncoverd.

True.
are you playing anything other than an elf, human or half elf? Probably no LI for you! (and Viconia didn't go for elves but she did for Orcs...I think? Not sure).
And the romances seem to want to start as soon as they meet you...and my first male was a half elf...you can see where I'm going with this.
Minutes ago? We work fast.
Apparently fater than I can keep up with. I tried looking myself n'all.
You there, peasant, point me in the right direction!
