I can only see Vivienne being an LI if they replace Sera, though I wouldn't mind

I like Sera too. I wouldn't mind either one, honestly.. both for very different reasons of course.

I don't understand how visiting them at camp is that different than visiting them at the castle, still. It's still totally outside of the actual quests. It's just the same thing with a different backdrop.

For me, it gives the illusion of traveling with a NPC and I'm happy with that. My hope is that the camp allows for area-specific banter to occur between the NPC and some of your party members, and for the NPC to have some immediate reactions to things you've done in the area. I'd need to know more about these camps before I could make up a full list of fun things to do with while a NPC LI is there. (TENTS ARE BACK MWAHAHAHA~!) I'm looking forward to it. Of course, I'm one of those weird people who's actually excited about an NPC LI, so.

I agree with this. It makes them pseudo-companions since they still travel with you, but just decide to bench themselves and hold down the camp.

It also allows for more variety in the interactions. If you can interact with them in the camp, they can discuss the questline for that region as it progresses and, depending on the story, possibly have a larger role by accompanying you at some point (not as a companion, more like a "they show up in the climatic scene/dialogue" kind of thing). Then, when you come back to the Keep, there could be an additional set of interactions.

Yes, this seems to imply 2/2/2. I agree that I really doubt that there would be more than 6, given earlier statements about having about the same resources for romances as in DA 2. I'm thinking 2 gay, 2 straight, and 2 bisexual. And the best part (for me at least), is that with Cullen being an NPC and almost certainly being either straight or bisexual, it's looking more and more likely that we'll finally get our first gay male companion! There's a silver lining in all this!
There's no reason to limit our-self to our friends list for npc romance, it could be like in origins with Dairren, Iona, Gorim, Isabela, Cammen, Gheyna, Bella, Kaitlyn, um...err..Teli and Mardy....oh yes and Desire demon. No need for 2/2/2 with a host of possibilities like this.
