Iron Bull being qunari only doesn't make sense with his character description. If qunari are the only things he's reasonably sure he won't break, then he doesn't get laid that much. But qunari inquisitors being limited to Iron Bull is something I see happening.

 

And while I hate to start trying to present straight males as being opressed; straight male qunari? Sh*t out of luck. Straight male dwarf? Sh*t out of luck. On the flip side; Lesbian qunari? Sh*t out of luck. Lesbian dwarf? Sh*t out of luck.

 

We'll see how the divide comes down, though.

That bugged me sooooo much. I had romanced him before so I knew what it meant, but going through it again with another LI and him just leaving it there was aggravating.

DA series has all been much better at letting you be besties with non Lis than ME.

ME1&2 were downright awful in that department, though they fixed it in ME3.

I doubt that will be the case. I know that fan tears sustain the writers and everything but if they were really that malnourished then they'd probably drop romances altogether.

His words seemed clear to me ' no guarantee that a particular race/gender will have as many prospects'.
If that's not setting up some options for only one option I'll be amazed but hey maybe I've been hit by so many horrible hammer blows in a row and can't see the wood for the trees.

Man, I am going to be on edge about this until we get more solid information. On the one hand: more hope that my female dwarf might have a shot at Varric! On the other hand: for the first time, I'm concerned she might get stuck without any choice at all.

 

Like, say for the sake of argument that the bi male is Iron Bull and the straight guy is Cullen, and Iron Bull doesn't go for dwarves. That would be awful .

 

(No offence to the Cullen fans, but the only way I'm gonna romance him is with a mage.)

The issue with that is Sera isn't going to be an option for male human players even as another race because of the gender restriction. And I'm pretty sure male m/f players don't care about IB not being interested (or Solas for that matter).

 

But yeah I rather each race had an equal amount of restrictions and not the special let's have all the female player LIs be the cheaters/dying people/wangst equal across both genders and across each race. Again something I don't feel possible with six LIs.

Honestly, this is probably my BIGGEST annoyance right now.

 

Telling us still like this while we still don't even KNOW who's romancable in the first place!
