Well... They did have Alistair.. That went over well... Can you imagine the uproar if they created another character that dumped our asses?

Nope that was you were mean to me syndrome if you're referring to Loghain.

I could that doesn't mean it shouldn't be done.

I dig it.

If you want your Inquisitor split open, that's your beef i guess.

Side note:

In Dragon Age, you don't dig The Bull. The Bull dig you.

And if we were their patrons, that'd be true.

We are not. We are their customers, and that's an entirely different kettle of fish.

Actually, you have this backwards.  Commercial artists have more obligation to their audience, not less.  They are specifically producing art for their patrons to consume and enjoy.  Non commercial artists are often just making statements and they may *want* people to be shocked or uncomfortable with what they produce.

Artists with no patrons (audience) aren't artists.  They are wannebe artists.  Art is a process.  It's not property.

Wrong. A patron is someone who specifically commissions a piece of art for their own benefit. They own the art, the artist does not. A customer base is a broader selection of people that buy the art on speculation, not commission. An audience is whoever is enjoying that art at a particular point in time.

And if you do not have an audience, patron or customer base, and are producing art, you are still an artist.

Why are you so bothered by the way other people play their games?

Worry about your own playthrough.

It isn't about how they play their games. It is about how they want the game that I play to be developed. That affects me aswell. I didn't complain about the romances in DA2, even though I found them objectifying of the characters. But I do complain whenever someone wants DA:I to follow the same path, because it is a path I disagree with.

I was more referring to him dumping you after he is crowned king. That broke some fragile hearts out there.

Its a game, if it turns out you enjoy it so much are you going to constantly replay it over an over doing the same choices, picking the same race, picking the same gender, have the same ending, wear the same armour, have the same class etc etc

Dont limit yourselves with a game just because of your life preference's, by all means explore all that content first but maker play the game, see the game an most of all experience the game from all angles

Ok, so how did you think the characters were objectified in DA2? Merely because they were 4 bisexual romances?

And?

Only giving credit to the writers devalues the work of everyone else who helps bring the character to life.

Yeah, but that's not what I've been talking about. Me wanting info on content that has already been developed in order to help me plan and fine-tune a playthrough beforehand is what I'm talking about.

Just sayin.

This is still ridiculous.  As I theorized way back, Qunari have a roughly 17% size increase over normal human beings.  So unless all Qunari are RIDICULOUSLY ENDOWED, we're looking at well within human boundaries for the average Qunari. The difference between 6 inches and 7 inches.  *eyeroll*

Cool.

Then have all of them sit together at a table and figure out how to make things work without restrictions.

Except when that audience is split (as they are now) what are they to do? Do they take a side? Try to find a compromise?

What i've seen is individuals asking for them to make the game how they want it, an individual isn't representative of the whole audience.

No. Because they were playersexual. Had they said openly, or at least hinted in the slightest, that they were bisexual characters then that would have been just fine. The problem arose when BioWare tried to have their cake and eat it to.

They seem the same size as the average wrestler or pro linebacker.

I have.  But 5'10" (average human male size) over 7', approximate Qunari average height, is 17% difference.  Assuming everything is proportionate, we're talking 17% overall when it comes to his business.  Yes, he is muscular, and very strong, but that's implying he would have absolutely no self control.

Exactly.

Um, no.

We are not their patrons, we did not commission the art. A patron, in the ancient Roman world, was someone who took care of a commoner (represented them in the Senate, helped them out with debt, etc.) in exchange for services rendered. Such as being said patron's merchant. This evolved in the artistic world to mean someone who commissioned the art. The Church, for example was a major patron of the arts.

We are customers. We buy on speculation. We do not know what we are going to get in a particular movie/game/book/whatever, until we actually buy it. EA could be said to be BW's patrons, given that they own BW and commission their work (albiet, they do it on speculation of a wider mass market), but we are not and can never be.

Unless one of us becomes disgustinly rich and buys BW out.
