Just sayin.

"Mommy?"

Have you seen the size of Iron Bull? ...or na?

I have seen buff men in showers with tiny dicks...body size means nothing...

Wrong. A patron is someone who specifically commissions a piece of art for their own benefit. They own the art, the artist does not. A customer base is a broader selection of people that buy the art on speculation, not commission. An audience is whoever is enjoying that art at a particular point in time.

And if you do not have an audience, patron or customer base, and are producing art, you are still an artist.

Congratulations: you get points for literal definitions to words.  My point still stands.  "Art" in a vacuum isn't art.  Art has two ends - the creation end and the "consumption, appreciation, whatever" end.  A novel in your closet is no different than your stamp collection until someone else reads it.  You may pour your heart and soul into it, but that doesn't make it art.

True but the have Anora be queen instead route wasn't.

Yes, but they didn't predict being dumped.  I didn't have it happen to me because I read spoilers ahead of time before playing, but I can see how it would come as surprise.

This is still ridiculous.  As I theorized way back, Qunari have a roughly 17% size increase over normal human beings.  So unless all Qunari are RIDICULOUSLY ENDOWED, we're looking at well within human boundaries for the average Qunari. The difference between 6 inches and 7 inches.  *eyeroll*

"But i want to be a purty Queen!!" :P that was my first reaction lol, then he became a grey warden commander faster then the speed of light...

HA.

I had my PC become mistress, then I had to do the DR...and lately that soured me on the whole romance. Too many damn hoops to jump through for too little reward. Rather romance hardened Leliana, harden Alistair marry him to Anora, recruit Loghain and laugh at Morrigna's "glory" arguement, have Loghain kill himself by archdemon, get his lands and call it a a day. Complete golden ending and my PC got to thumb her nose at sacrificing herself or being played for a sucker by Morrigan. Least those hoops had me feel it was worth it in the end.

Cool.

Then have all of them sit together at a table and figure out how to make things work without restrictions.

The name of the series is Dragon Age, not Theodoric Age.

I have seen buff men in showers with tiny dicks...body size means nothing...

I've been talking about this since DA:O first came out. The fetish brigade will not listen.

Ok, so how did you think the characters were objectified in DA2? Merely because they were 4 bisexual romances?

To me it seems like Bioware was trying to appease everyone, which, in my opinion, shouldn't have been done.

Two straight and two bi I guess, but to have everyone like that, just seemed like they were gunning for fans to stick with them.

Actually, yes it does.

Art is not dependent on its sale.

Oh, and by the way, it is impossible to create art in a vacuum.

Do you create anything?

Is that really how you see yourself?

When I play my guitar, it's art. It doesn't matter if anyone hears it. I guess I could call it "therapy" as well, but it's still me being creative.

I have.  But 5'10" (average human male size) over 7', approximate Qunari average height, is 17% difference.

Is this lore?

No. Because they were playersexual. Had they said openly, or at least hinted in the slightest, that they were bisexual characters then that would have been just fine. The problem arose when BioWare tried to have their cake and eat it to.

Isabela was openly bisexual.

Fenris and Merrill are shy introverts, and openly discussing something as personal as their sexuality would have gone against character.

A character does not need to shout their sexuality from the rooftops during the game.

In regard to the advisability of riding the Bull:

1. We don't know anything about qunari reproductive anatomy. They could be built like gorillas, for all we know.

2. Look, without getting myself banned: people have sex in all kinds of different ways. Some of those ways are far more likely to cause injury if done incorrectly than a simple roll in the hay with a certain one-eyed giant. (For example, I refer your attention to that concept art of Sera telling a joke ...) And others don't involve penetration at all.

And while we're on the subject, I don't know why so many people assume that dwarves are the race that Iron Bull will avoid because he's worried he'll break them. Dwarves are sturdy. Surely it's elves we should be concerned about?

So, let me get this clear: Racial gating has been confirmed.  Okay, first...what is this, 1996 and Baldur's Gate again, with the racial gating?   I'm glad for LGBT inclusion, something that would have never happened in 1996, so don't misunderstand me there.  However, playing BG2 as anything but a human locked me out of most of the LI content.  Human or elf, that's just peachy though.  Everyone loves 'dem sexy elves, right?

Secondly, the whole, "Would you prefer less romances?" question that keeps coming up.  I'm not going to speak for anyone but myself, but since you guys keep asking...

Yes.  Yes I would like fewer romances if less restrictions were involved.  The question itself always seems to come off as a vague threat.   I have accepted the gender gating for the sake of a better story, but the party should be the one place were racism isn't a factor.

I didn't have my LI really planned out at all, but I also figured that one gating for the sake of characters being "fleshed out" was plenty.  There is no good reason for the party members to be racist against the PC at all.   We don't need to be rejected based upon race.

Just reroll, huh?  I can see something like this happening:  "Oh, you rolled a straight dwarven woman.  Well, only Varric is hot for your bod.  Don't like it? Too bad, you choose poorly.  Go back and reroll as the proper race and gender."  "Oh, you liked being a bisexual Qunari?  Only Iron Bull will romance you.  Don't like it?  Keep rerolling and we'll let you know which combinations are okay."

So, 6-8 (or more?) romances, with all sorts of weird racial restrictions in place.  Wouldn't that make the writing harder to deal with?  If race is an issue, then wouldn't it get awkward to start diving up race/gender?  For example:

Vivienne

Bisexual

Race restrictions: Elves and humans only

Solas

Gay

Race restrictions: Dwarf, Elf, human

Sera

Lesbian

Race restrictions: Qunari (for the lady Qunari only,) Elf, Human

And so on.  Isn't that a lot more work?

It feels like massive amount of restrictions came into place the sake of because DA2 was available to all.   It's starting to feel like a backlash by the DA team.  It's gone from, "Available to all players, unambiguous sexualites for two of the LIs!" to "For the sake of representation, some romances will only available to some players."  Which was fine, but then I found it's "Only available to some players, and you have to roll the right race."

It's their sandbox I'm playing in after all. I'll just sit down and shut up about this from here on out, and let other folks enjoy.  I need some fresh air anyways.

Is this lore?

According to World of Thedas "a foot or more" in terms of average human height to average Qunari height.  And considering human proportions are roughly equivalent to people of our height, I'd presume 5'10" applies.

I'd also really like to see a complete list of LIs and their preferences before I start playing.  I like to know what my options are.

I wish I could go into the game completely blind and play "organically", as Mr. Gaider says, but personally that just doesn't work for me.  I'm always worried about the choices I could have made, but didn't.  I'm the kind of person who bookmarks every choice in a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book, so I can go back and read every single possibility.

For me, an RPG like this is more about playing out a particular version of a story than "experiencing" it.
