In regard to the advisability of riding the Bull:

1. We don't know anything about qunari reproductive anatomy. They could be build like gorillas, for all we know.

2. Look, without getting myself banned: people have sex in all kinds of different ways. Some of those ways are far more likely to cause injury if done incorrectly than a simple roll in the hay with a certain one-eyed giant. (For example, I refer your attention to that concept art of Sera telling a joke ...) And others don't involve penetration at all.

And while we're on the subject, I don't know why so many people assume that dwarves are the race that Iron Bull will avoid because he's worried he'll break them. Dwarves are sturdy. Surely it's elves we should be concerned about?

Possibly. Our games aren't really intended to be played by way of "I'll pick the character I want to romance before the game even begins," but rather discovered organically. That said, we know there is a subset of fans who do want to do that, so it very well may happen. Whether it does or not isn't up to me, however. If it doesn't, I'm sure the information will be readily available after release, if that's what you really want to do.

Unmarked goodies on the overworld are "discovered organically." Picturesque locations to stare out at the beautifully crafted world are "discovered organically." Very specific romantic limitations are NOT "discovered organically", especially when you specifically point out that such limitations are in place! If I wanted to "organically discover" romances, I'd rather you NOT have romances in place and just let players form their own emotional bonds, letting fanfiction and headcanon run its course instead.

Except when that audience is split (as they are now) what are they to do? Do they take a side? Try to find a compromise?

What i've seen is individuals asking for them to make the game how they want it, an individual isn't representative of the whole audience.

I never said they had to do *everything* we said.  But pretending that artists exist in some kind of holy art creation sanctum with no influence or obligation is just silly.  My whole point is that nobody "owns" the story (except in some overly legalistic copyright definition of the term).  Nobody owns the *meaning* of the story.  I don't get to dictate to the artists what the story does or doesn't mean to them.  And they don't get to dictate to it to me.  Meaning making - which is what art is really about - is a process. Not property.

So, let me get this clear: Racial gating has been confirmed.  Okay, first...what is this, 1996 and Baldur's Gate again, with the racial gating?   I'm glad for LGBT inclusion, something that would have never happened in 1996, so don't misunderstand me there.  However, playing BG2 as anything but a human locked me out of most of the LI content.  Human or elf, that's just peachy though.  Everyone loves 'dem sexy elves, right?

Secondly, the whole, "Would you prefer less romances?" question that keeps coming up.  I'm not going to speak for anyone but myself, but since you guys keep asking...

Yes.  Yes I would like fewer romances if less restrictions were involved.  The question itself always seems to come off as a vague threat.   I have accepted the gender gating for the sake of a better story, but the party should be the one place were racism isn't a factor.

I didn't have my LI really planned out at all, but I also figured that one gating for the sake of characters being "fleshed out" was plenty.  There is no good reason for the party members to be racist against the PC at all.   We don't need to be rejected based upon race.

Just reroll, huh?  I can see something like this happening:  "Oh, you rolled a straight dwarven woman.  Well, only Varric is hot for your bod.  Don't like it? Too bad, you choose poorly.  Go back and reroll as the proper race and gender."  "Oh, you liked being a bisexual Qunari?  Only Iron Bull will romance you.  Don't like it?  Keep rerolling and we'll let you know which combinations are okay."

So, 6-8 (or more?) romances, with all sorts of weird racial restrictions in place.  Wouldn't that make the writing harder to deal with?  If race is an issue, then wouldn't it get awkward to start diving up race/gender?  For example:

Vivienne

Bisexual

Race restrictions: Elves and humans only

Solas

Gay

Race restrictions: Dwarf, Elf, human

Sera

Lesbian

Race restrictions: Qunari (for the lady Qunari only,) Elf, Human

And so on.  Isn't that a lot more work?

It feels like massive amount of restrictions came into place the sake of because DA2 was available to all.   It's starting to feel like a backlash by the DA team.  It's gone from, "Available to all players, unambiguous sexualites for two of the LIs!" to "For the sake of representation, some romances will only available to some players."  Which was fine, but then I found it's "Only available to some players, and you have to roll the right race."

It's their sandbox I'm playing in after all. I'll just sit down and shut up about this from here on out, and let other folks enjoy.  I need some fresh air anyways.

Once again, racial restrictions have not actually been confirmed.

For those of you who don't understand the reference, a male gorilla is 300 to 400 pounds, and has an average penis size of 1.25 inches (3 cm.)

So, let me get this clear: Racial gating has been confirmed.

No.

According to World of Thedas "a foot or more" in terms of average human height to average Qunari height.  And considering human proportions are roughly equivalent to people of our height, I'd presume 5'10" applies.

so it's just a presumption, gotcha.

Then show me your expertise on the matter, and prove that Qunari have Mega manhoods cause of their body size...lol :)

it's common sense to expect something larger than what a human has, so no expertise needed there. Just a brain. No one knows if Sten was joking or not, maybe he was, but qunari are not called 'oxmen' for nothing. Comparing them to a gorilla is ridiculous considering this is a fantasy game.

As for the restriction thing, didn't Varric himself state he only prefers Dwarven women?

This is still ridiculous.  As I theorized way back, Qunari have a roughly 17% size increase over normal human beings.  So unless all Qunari are RIDICULOUSLY ENDOWED, we're looking at well within human boundaries for the average Qunari. The difference between 6 inches and 7 inches.  *eyeroll*

Stop trying to use math and logic on the BSN.  You'll confuse people!

Have you seen the size of Iron Bull? ...or na?

It has not been my experience that you can use height and weight to extrapolate anything that would make that train/tunnel gif make sense.......

No. Because they were playersexual. Had they said openly, or at least hinted in the slightest, that they were bisexual characters then that would have been just fine. The problem arose when BioWare tried to have their cake and eat it to.

They were not all playersexual.  Isabela and Sebastian are confirmed in game with their sexualities.  Anders has been confirmed by devs.  You have no more evidence to support that Merrill and Fenris were playersexual as I do that they were bisexual.  Those two (only) might have been playersexual.  But they also might not have been.  Your opinion =/= fact; same as mine.  Unfortunately for you, unless it comes up elsewhere, you simply don't have enough evidence to say that they were playersexual objectively.

I'll do math again.  Average junk, 6 inches.  Though I've heard it's five and some change, we'll round to six.  We'll assume, for a moment, that all humans are two feet tall, and Qunaris are thusly 3 feet tall.  That's a 50% change.  So, even at these ridiculous proportions and scaling, average Qunari would be 9 inches, which is still within human range.

Okay, first I read it wasn't.  Then I read it was.  Then I read DG's comments and now I'm all sorts of confused.  I would like to know if there are going to restrict by race or not.  I don't give a crap who the LIs are, but I would please like this confirmed one way or the other.

As for the restriction thing, didn't Varric himself state he only prefers Dwarven women?

In an easily missed conversation that I didn't even know existed until recently.  I thought he was putting him/her into the friend-zone, so any romantic relationship wouldn't hurt their friendship.

Isabela was openly bisexual.

Fenris and Merrill are shy introverts, and openly discussing something as personal as their sexuality would have gone against character.

A character does not need to shout their sexuality from the rooftops during the game.

Isabela by herself was an objectification, but that fit compeltely into her character (she wanted men and women to objectify her).

Anders not telling a female Hawke about his close relationship with Karl, and just why he mattered so much to Anders? Bullsh!t.

Fenris not telling a female Hawke how Danarius used him as a body slave? Even more from the same truckload.

The only feasibly reasonable is Merrill, because she is basically mentally an overgrown child.

But still not even a HINT from any of the characters (Isabela barred). Nothing. Nada. Less than zero.

Isabela is ironically the one I am okay with, because BioWare were honest with their intentions for her.

To me it seems like Bioware was trying to appease everyone, which, in my opinion, shouldn't have been done.

Two straight and two bi I guess, but to have everyone like that, just seemed like they were gunning for fans to stick with them.

And what would you have done if it was flipped and we got 2 gay and 2 bi options instead?

I'm still trying to understand why both Fenris and Merrill would even have to say that they liked both men and women to become more "believable" and "realistic" bisexual characters.

Does the phrase 'strawman' mean anything to you? Or are we changing goalposts, here?

'Cause I sure as hell don't remember saying anything about 'meaning' in any of my posts. Nor do I recall you saying any such thing in your previous posts.

In fact, my first post on this topic was a reply to someone claiming we were owed content, actual, objective content, because he thought we were BioWare's patrons.

...He doesn't tell MHawke either. And maybe just maybe one isn't so eager to share their history of sexual abuse.

The most you get is the body guard bits and how he was ordered to pour wine and "prop the furniture if he (Danarius) was so inclined."
