So what kind of romance scenes do you think they will put in? Aren't they supposed to be like ME?
I think they said it would be something like ME3 (Liara's scene to be exact)

This is always the most ridiculous argument to me.
Its not exactly hard to find a fantasy game that is equal to or greater then Dragon Age in terms of gameplay. Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Dragons Dogma, Skyrim, Kingdoms of Amalur, Bound By Flame, etc.
The reason Bioware games are set apart is because of the romance options! Gating them is essentially removing reasons for me to play the game.
You should not have expected to be the game to be like DA2. Every game they do is different and now its even more with the new game engine.
I will play Inquisitors of All races and BOTH genders and will do ALL the romances. I don't expect things handed to me.
Yeah that is a good point. I usually play all the romances and so the fact that there are more than previous games is still a very good thing even if there are restrictions. I can't say I would be happy if my main two Quizzy's didn't have suitable romance options for them though.
He was replying to my ridiculous exaggerations.
Anyways, what if no one finds dwarves attractive? I really, really hope Cassandra likes dwarves
You'll just have to wait and see. Though I doubt that this whole race restriction is going to be even remotely as severe as some of the people panicking here thinks.
(Theoretically it could something as simple as Varric only liking Dwarven women, and then there would be race restriction romance in the game)
I also wanted to say that, "You'll have one LI for sure," does not make me a happy camper. $10 says that if I roll a straight human male, I'll have my choice of any straight or bi lady LIs to choose from.
I'm afraid that the straight human male players will get a variety to choose from, while anyone that isn't a straight human male is told, "You've got your one LI. Oh, you don't like them? Well sorry, I guess you picked the wrong race. What's that? You didn't know about that until you're an hour into the game and you don't want to reroll your first character? Well, sucks to be you."

I haven't seen anything specific, but I haven't been following E3 like a hawk, either.
Um there is more to this game than the romances. You know. And the game is NOT even out yet. How about playing it before making assumptions?
Uh... yeah... that's pretty much what the point of my comment was, besides the making assumptions part, I did make assumptions. I assumed that I wouldn't be spending all that much time on the romantic portion of my game compared to the game's other content. Seems a safe bet considering it's been the case for just about every game Bioware's released.

Yea, and every game they create tends to have more romance with more variety than the last one. Romance has continually increased in complexity, variety, arguably quality with every game they've made. It doesn't seem unreasonable to expect that trend to continue.
Im not expecting Dragon Age 2, im expecting to be able to have a large amount of romance options available to me regardless of my player characters race.
Not gender, not orientation, Race.
Locking off romance options because of that is sheer insanity.
It adds a unique touch in my opinion, not everyone would fall for a dwarf or even qunari character. People have different preferences.
You seriously consider Bound by Flame equal or greater then any of the DA games?
I am merely listing the fact that there are a lot of options for a fantasy game.
Not a lot for romance options.
Yea, but I also think the reason the metrics say that is because they primarily market with human dudes *and* they provide more content for humans. As an example, my canon Warden is human primarily because it's the only way to be queen and really *keep* Alistair so to speak. As a related example, I felt pushed into playing a mage in DA2 because nothing else seemed to really make sense. If romances are *only* available to humans and elves, it's just going to spur people to play those more. I *really* like romances and I *really* like playing as non human races. I don't want me choosing to play a human to get a romance to be interpreted as "oh, she likes to play humans best."
True but I also think it's people playing what's familiar to them.
Eh you could really keep Alistair by throwing the crown at anora and running off to travel.
Though I'm with you in DA2. I wonder what the class numbers are?
True that would suck. I'm sure elves will have as many LIs as humans if anything though (since the whole being slightly slimmer shorter humans thing and them being the second most played species after humans).
So what kind of romance scenes do you think they will put in? Aren't they supposed to be like ME?
They said they would be more "classy"...so dry humping with Prada clothes? XD imo though i liked th ME sex scenes, i even liked the fade to black, so i don´t really care that much just as long i as i get some kind of reaction to it ( and no not that kind of reaction!).

That sounds good to me, hopefully the before and after scenes have tender moments.

As long as it won't be like Origins, I'm fine. That was pretty awkward lol.

But it's alright if Cassandra's just handed to a human inquisitor and Varric's just handed to a dwarf inquisitor and Iron Bull's just handed to an elf inquisitor? Since apparently playing as different races is the sum total of the effort that requires.

This.
Only way it's possible for that not to occur really is for one of the female humans not to be interested in humans. While that'd be interesting I'm really not seeing that as likely.
It adds a unique touch in my opinion, not everyone would fall for a dwarf or even qunari character. People have different preferences.
Its a video game! Its meant to be fun and cool and empowering! Its meant to let me role play in a fantastical world!
Theres no reason a turian should find a human attractive, but you can have a turian love interest. If it was good enough for Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age 2, and Mass Effect, it should be good enough for Dragon Age Inquisition.
I think all need to chill and look at this:

AKA, it´s there but we don´t see it just yet XD
This.

Or, the straight human female could get an equivalent amount of options.

Every time I replay the game the romance scenes get skipped. That weird making out in under garments thing never made sense to me.

& if that happened, i bet there'd still be some straight male gamers hating on Inquisition just cos the couldn't get Sera too ![]()
I think it's fine to simply say that you find it preferable. A lot of justification isn't really necessary beyond that, IMO.
It works better for you and feels better. Sometimes that's all it takes and I think that that's okay. I think it works because the impression I get is that you prefer it this way because the feeling that romanceable characters are always available to the player character feels off.
I just want to be able work for it. I just don't want things easily handed to me. When I buy a game I want my moneys worth.
I have about 800 hours in Origins and 300 in DA2. When I play games....I play them. And I plan to do the same with Inquisition.
I probably should have worded myself better and for that I am sorry.

Yes, but hardened Alistair actually *wants* to be king, and I always thought not hardening Alistair was borderline cruel. I did do what you are saying in some of my other playthroughs, but generally I went for Zevran as an elf, and my dwarf was male.
Or, the straight human female could get an equivalent amount of options.
That doesn't make it balanced with non human males or females.
I mean...really what does 4 human females not being liable to not be attracted to humans have to do with what you just said?
(Also human females getting all three male LIs (that we don't even know yet other than Cullen that may not even all be human and thus liable to be race restricted?)
