As long as it won't be like Origins, I'm fine. That was pretty awkward lol.
Every time I replay the game the romance scenes get skipped. That weird making out in under garments thing never made sense to me.

I also wanted to say that, "You'll have one LI for sure," does not make me a happy camper. $10 says that if I roll a straight human male, I'll have my choice of any straight or bi lady LIs to choose from.
I'm afraid that the straight human male players will get a variety to choose from, while anyone that isn't a straight human male is told, "You've got your one LI. Oh, you don't like them? Well sorry, I guess you picked the wrong race. What's that? You didn't know about that until you're an hour into the game and you don't want to reroll your first character? Well, sucks to be you."
& if that happened, i bet there'd still be some straight male gamers hating on Inquisition just cos the couldn't get Sera too ![]()
I think it's fine to simply say that you find it preferable. A lot of justification isn't really necessary beyond that, IMO.
It works better for you and feels better. Sometimes that's all it takes and I think that that's okay. I think it works because the impression I get is that you prefer it this way because the feeling that romanceable characters are always available to the player character feels off.
I just want to be able work for it. I just don't want things easily handed to me. When I buy a game I want my moneys worth.
I have about 800 hours in Origins and 300 in DA2. When I play games....I play them. And I plan to do the same with Inquisition.
I probably should have worded myself better and for that I am sorry.

Eh you could really keep Alistair by throwing the crown at anora and running off to travel.
Yes, but hardened Alistair actually *wants* to be king, and I always thought not hardening Alistair was borderline cruel. I did do what you are saying in some of my other playthroughs, but generally I went for Zevran as an elf, and my dwarf was male.
Or, the straight human female could get an equivalent amount of options.
That doesn't make it balanced with non human males or females.
I mean...really what does 4 human females not being liable to not be attracted to humans have to do with what you just said?
(Also human females getting all three male LIs (that we don't even know yet other than Cullen that may not even all be human and thus liable to be race restricted?)

The one time that nude mods actually manage to make a game less awkward and creepy.
Its a video game! Its meant to be fun and cool and empowering! Its meant to let me role play in a fantastical world!
Theres no reason a turian should find a human attractive, but you can have a turian love interest. If it was good enough for Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age 2, and Mass Effect, it should be good enough for Dragon Age Inquisition.
Even in a video game characters have preferences, for example in DA's world most people don't date others from different races. The main exception would be humans and elves but you rarely hear of dwarven or qunari/human relationships.
So what kind of romance scenes do you think they will put in? Aren't they supposed to be like ME?

Yeah, between the blank faces/underwear/music it was just... never again

But why this thing that romance has to be hard to obtain? Restrictions is not hard, it´s cheap.

Sadly I only play on console so mods are out of my grasp, it sucks.....![]()
I expect they'll be like DA II with more skin.
I can't remember the Liara-mance so I don't remember how much skin was showed or what they even looked like, but I'm pretty ready for Sera's scene
just saying

I think I had a nightmare about it once....don't know why though.

Yep difficult romances?
Have them react to choices your character makes, how he/she treats other people (and not just you can be a complete d-bag to everyone in sight but the second you're mean to me you've gone too far!), his/her personality, how manipulative or honest they are in situations.
But you're species X you can't romance X or you're gender is wrong you can't romance Y isn't difficulty.

I dont feel like thats a valid excuse.
I mean, its not exactly out of the ordinary for a human to look at a qunari and say "Oh man, i want a piece of that!" Hell, i think female qunari are stunning.
Surely there are some humans, elves, or dwarves in the Dragon Age universe willing to take the bull by the horns.

just saying
The Liara scene was basically all nude but done at different angles and stuff so it doesn't show anything

For what reason should it be "balanced" anyway?
Your complain was that you feared the human straight male would be pandered to. I gave an option in which case it would be "balanced" out.

She also didnt have nipples.

It did show side blewb.

I believe 'some' would be the key word there.

Those too lol

Because I would prefer it. Why shouldn't it be?
Except that's exactly what it wouldn't be. Especially since the males of the Inquisition (unlike the females) aren't mostly human save 1. Varric, Iron Bull and Solas are all non humans and might just not be attracted to humans and if any of them are LIs that means there might not be balance between male and female humans.
I dont feel like thats a valid excuse.

Well there was Saemus. I suspect that the average Thedas citizen doesn't run into many of the horned folk unless their village is being attacked by mercenaries. Doesn't give a whole lot of opportunity for those relationships to form.

Those are in the minority though .Human, elven, qunari, and dwarven societies aren't so peachy about cross racial relationships.

You know, you did remind me of something. I feel racial restrictions are extremely detrimental and don't add any sort of replay for me. Now, if I had just been told that a players actions are a gating mechanism, then I would have been fine with that.
It made no sense that you could be a blood mage and Fenris to still agree to be with you. Or be very anti-mage, yet you can still have the romance with Anders. Having a companion accept or reject my advances based upon my actions in the game would have made perfect sense.
To be honest, that was the only gating I would have liked. Gating by sexuality wasn't something I really wanted, but I have no few issues with it now.
So, Varric might not be attracted to an elf, but in theory he could hook up with a very cruel necromancer that doesn't give a toss about anyone's life. That would break my immersion far more than him finding a human attractive. Unless they've already romances that gated by action, and added in the racial gating "because it helps create more of an organic character."
