I guess I'll just have to wait and see what the options are. I really don't want to pick Cullen, if he's even available for m/m, but I only like Dorian from the male companions. I can't say what I'm going to pick until we have an idea what sort of options we're looking at.

I'll be honest, though, if Dorian is available, I'm not going to bother with the other choice. It was the same with DA2 and ME3, always Anders and Kaidan, respectively. I wonder at this point if a game will ever motivate me enough to play through with a second romance choice. lol

I usually try to do all the romances at least once.

I usually end up heavily disliking all but 2 though. XD

I give them all at least one playthough until I pick a favorite.  I didn't trust Morrigan until I got to know her, didn't know Isabella was in DA2 until I decided Merril wasn't worth her keeper's life, and tend to like the irony of Fenris romancing a mage.

My interest in romancing Cullen is an extension of the last one.  Cullen always seems to be in the middle of mage weirdness.

It's Lazy to make all the characters Player Sexual, The Characters in the story should not be GI Joes for your Sandbox, and they should be People, with their own problems, their own morales, their own issues with the Inquisitors Choices, and Their Own Sexualities.

I find it amusing that people are equating mid 30's with "middle aged"!  I've never felt older!

Well, considering that an average lifespan is around 70, you can say that 35 is in the middle  ;)

I would recommend it. I always end up finding myself surprised that my second choice often ends up being more interesting than my first choice.

Well, it's not that I don't talk to the others. I do. I expend as much conversation as I possibly can with every companions. I'm not interested in romances with females, so honestly, this boils down to only two possibilities I actually rejected. Fenris and Cortez. Not exactly a big spread. There's still hope for things to change. lol

It's actually more like 82+ in all the developed countries.

Yep because somehow Fenris didn't have issues with mages, Isabela wasn't selfish, Merrill wasn't a bloodmage who lost her family over it, and Anders wasn't completely loony toons. They didn't have issues with Hawke's choices no no they were just GI Joes for your sandbox.

People saying **** like that makes me wonder if they played the same game I did.

The average lifespan in the USA is 78 years.

My point is the Characters shouldnt be tailored to please everyone.

BioWare knows this is impossible. They can't even tailor one character to please everyone.

But can you say that defined sexuality would change any of, say DAII companion arcs? Would Anders felt less rebellious or wouldn't blow the Chantry, if he was straight or gay? Would Fenris felt less hatred for magic? Would Merrill resisted an urge to dabble in blood magic etc.

I don't feel that sexualities affect life choices as much, as you'd like to emphasize on it.

But the USA isn't exactly at the top of the list.

Gaider hates fans making any assumptions about the game other than that it will be good. As far as he's concerned, we're wrong to assume that the game will include dragons

Elaborate, because I don't get this impression at all.

Though with the friendship/rivalry system, you actually could romance them still, even if they hated everything you stood for. The only thing really gating the player from successfully romancing any of them is their own choice of whether or not to romance them.

You mean she wouldn't steal a book and run away with it, if she was straight/gay? Or she wouldn't be sold to her husband and become a pirate? Alright then.

Of course they can't say that.  Because Anders wouldn't have been a drastically different character if he straight.  The only thing that would have been different would be his sexuality.  It's just a silly argument, frankly.

Isabela not being bi would change her character.

Not really, she could be sexually indiscriminant with just males and it wouldn't have changed her personally at all with the exception of her s/s flirts.

She wouldn't make lewd comments about both men and women the entire game. Which is where most of her entertaining dialog came from.

I think I said "most", but I looked it up and my guess was skewed by the fact that women live longer than men, on average.

USA is 79.8, apparently.

But I think this is part of the "romances will be more complex" comment. It's entirely possible that choices such as this will have an effect on DA: I romances.

I'm really kind of hoping for a few random characters we can flirt with, outside of our romance choices.

A thing I really like to do whenever possible whether i'm playing male or female is to establish in the game that my character is only attracted to the same sex. I know that the game doesn't care, it's more just to make me feel a bit happier about it...and because I can. You know?

For example: In Origins, I always make my female character a human noble because then she gets the chance to sleep with a female before she even meets Leliana.

I don't know, it's hard to explain. Just a thing I like to do. It doesn't have to be someone for the character to sleep with, just some extra same sex flirt options, even if nothing ever comes of it :P
