yeah but that defeats the purpose of having majority be bisexual lol
Well, you could have 6 bisexuals and 4 to even everything out. Why not keep going? lol

I mean they have a lot of time to do it. >.<
a girl can dream, right D:
ME3 had less dev time, and they still had so many damn romances.
That would call for much rejoicing

Exaaactly.
No doubt, I'll also be pleased if we get a bunch more romances than expected. ![]()
I think the absolute most we'll see is the 6 companion/2 NPC lineup some people have suggested. But I'm going to be no fun and say 4/2 is more likely. lol
I really don't think only 4 LIs will happen, though. Can't see how they could add the full spread of sexualities they've already said they'd add over 4 LIs. I'll be shocked if there are less than 6 total LIs.
Have you watched storylines of non-straight female characters in TV shows or movies? There have been overall many more female bisexual than lesbian characters (while for men, it seems that bisexuals don't exist and contrary to popular thinking, as even GLAAD annual reports show, there are many more gay male characters in TV than bisexual women and lesbians combined).
Having all of that in mind, suggesting that wanting to have a lesbian character is a sign of narrow views and prejudice against bisexual women is really far-fetched assumption.
Bioware changed my mind with Mass Effect 3. Originally I was of the mindset make all love interests available to any character- after all sexuality does not preclude any personality or physical trait, but having Traynor and Cortez as openly and unapologetically gay- and having this established early on, added to their characters, and by contrast made the sexuality of other characters matter more. I also really like that in DA2 not everyone was available for romance.
If my Hawke or Shepherd did not find romance it was not because no gays or lesbians existed in the universe. If there was someone my character found attractive but was unavailable- that was OK too and added to the story. This doesn't even add in the fact I found Traynor and Cortez well written and admirable. They were not combatants, but the had important roles and personality. Maybe too, it felt weird that during missions my paramour did not in any way acknowledge our relationship.
I really hope that relationships are established earlier on, and not just a mild sex scene pre-climax climax. I'm also looking forward to developing friendships with the characters I do not pursue romantically.
I know all of this.
Having all that in mind, when you talk about bisexual women as inherently not as good when it comes to romance because straight men get them too, you're being bigoted. You can come up with lots of elaborate reasons for said bigotry but it's still there, it's still ugly, and it's the exact same crap lesbians give bisexual women in the real world.
There's nothing wrong with saying 'I want positive portrayals of gay women in Dragon Age.' I've done that myself many times. That's not the same as discussing female love interests.
I'm sorry, but did I give you any reason for accusing me of "talking about bisexual women as inherently not as good when it comes to romance because straight men get the too"? If you think that's what I meant by assumption that "all women are bisexual", which in reality leads to "all women need to be sexually accessible for men, then I thought it's clear enough that I'm not talking about bisexual women themselves, but about practic of erasing lesbians and perpetuating homophobic myths about them, which is often hidden under fake enlightened catchphrases that "everyone/all women are bisexual".
In regard to that mentioned NBC Dracula situation, here you have example of how this fake open minded argument could be used to defend homophobia: https://twitter.com/...539094547726336
Sorry, but it appears to me that you attack people simply because of their stated preference for having lesbian character, and you automatically assume that people who want that are bigoted against bisexual women. I never made such generalizations like you just did about lesbians, even though I know bisexual women who disrespect lesbian sexuality, don't believe we can really not be attracted to men, and argue all the time that in fact we are all bisexual. But I don't say that it's "the exact same crap bisexual women give lesbians in the real world", because I know that such oversimplications are not true as they are many bisexual women who can put themselves in other people's shoes too, and because it only leads to further antagonizing.
Don't turn this thread into lesbian vs bisexual debate, plzplz
I think i already did that earlier...maybe..or it was worse. eatherway 6 and 4 would be cool.
Hopefully the 4 exclusives would be NPCs. ![]()

What, and all the companion LIs be bisexual?
What, and all the companion LIs be bisexual?
Yeah. ![]()
Yeah.
Are we now speculating on 4 NPC romances and 4 companion ones? haha...oh boy
Honestly though, Mass Effect tried expanding the number in ME2 and it didn't go so great. I mean, the LI's were largely awesome characters but the actual one-on-one interaction felt much more limited then its ever felt in a Dragon Age game imo. (maybe its as simple as the squad not really having background banter? idk)
So even though itd be fun to have more options/variety and such, I really just want to see 6. 2 bi NPC's, plus Cass, Sera and...uh...2 guys...(I've given up on taking guesses on that one, there are just too many
)
Cause, not only will we have more romances then ever in this case BUT with the Inquisitor having 4 voice actors, all 4 would haveta record for the bi NPC's and you would still need two of the Inquisitor VA's for every other LI as well. That's seems like a LOT of work.
Screw it, everyone but Cole, Leliana, Morrigan, and Alistair are LI's.
Well, I don't think it's going to happen, but if I'm being honest.. I'd take slightly less developed LIs over only one companion choice. It's not the choice I'd like the most, but that's already off the table, so. Yeah. Especially if the NPCs were the ones mostly getting shorted, it's the better of two lesser options, in my view. ![]()
All i want is sera help a guy out.
Why do you want Sera?
Why not?
If I were going to romance a female, I'd probably want to go with Sera, from what we've seen. She's super cute and she seems like she has a good sense of humor. Obviously not working from too much here, though.

Of all companions, I want to know about her the most.
