I really enjoyed playing DA2 as an "evil" character - the faces of Isabella handed over to the Arishok and Fenris given back to Danarius were priceless ^_^

But I couldn't kill Anders anyway. It was just so... unclean. A stab in the back and all. Maybe I'm just too attached to his character)

I could never give Fenris back to Danarius, even in my evil playthroughs. Betray the escaped slave whose trust you've earned by handing him back to his old master who will wipe his memory and return him to slavery? Can't do it.

I've given Isabella to the Qunari once, I think. I felt bad about it, but not nearly as bad as I would about handing Fenris over.

I said MISS THEM OR kill them outright. And I linked it: leliana and zeveran, miss them or kill them outright. K?

Yeah, I guess I just didnt realize which buildings I could go into...or I couldn't tell all the non descript buildings apart, or maybe I was so excited I just kinda ran through since its all optional content. *shrug* Hey,just b/c you didn't do it doesn't mean its not a valid way to play.

This is what you said and you did no such thing as link them in some way (where's the link?), "And Leliana and Zev can both not be recruited, either by missing them or by killing them outright." You cannot kill Leliana (part of them) outright by not recrutiting her and look up the definition of "outright". You can kill her during a certain quest though and that isn't "outright", that is later on after recruiting her. Also, you cannot miss Zevran, you either take him in your group, or you kill him, but you absolutely cannot avoid him or miss him.

Now, am I arguing semantics or challenging the words that you posted?

I did it once. God I felt so dirty I nuked that Hawke from my harddrive. Plus Danarius gives you five sovereigns. At that point in the game that's peasant's change. Even with my evil PC's Fenris is a far more valuable asset as a guard dog than Danarius' cheap ass.

Doesn't she get away anyway? I wouldn't do it myself because betraying her when she decides to be somewhat decent is a uber jerk move to me.

Linked, like, latter/former. Not like hyperlink. Them can be singular. You can't miss Zeveran so using logic who in that statement can you miss? Prolly Leliana.

I'm done with this now.

...You could hand Fenris over to Danarius. Someone who's up to that point has only helped you and is no threat to you at all and you can tell him to leave at least twice to that point but stabbing Anders who's demon possessed and insane who just blew up a Chantry is unclean?

My PC was a mage extremist so he hated Fenris from the start. And he was BFF with Anders =)

I personally don't justify neither murder nor slavery, per say.

PS: But, I got a letter from Danarius where he was inviting my Hawke to visit Minrathous, is was hilarious)

You...don't have to recruit Fenris.

heck you can tell him to bounce right after you finish his recruitment mission. I just...I don't get it. Also that letter was creepy.

True BW games do let you be a jerk.

Well my Hawke decided that he would use Fenris until he seizes to be useful. And when Danarius came, he figured it to be useful to make friends with a magister rather than fight for his pet slave.

Yeah, Hawke was totally a jerk. But it's not head canon, so who cares? I played him just for a different perspective and for fun, that's all.

Yeah my confusion is you have no issue doing that but killing an abomination is unclean.

Its funny, the difference between Bioware letting you engage in the content/characters you want and all the 'well I just totally missed that character' stuff that happens.

I'm so excited for all the romances but it seems pretty likely I'll just miss the characters on my first run through anyway.

Actually, in my first playthrough I didn't even recruit Fenris. Only did that initial quest with him and then told him to shove off. I didn't like they way he looked :P Or his attitude about magic, considering my Hawke was a mage.

He's grown on me, though, now I romance him in most of my playthoughs.

I failed at romances too in that first playthough. Accidentally rivalmanced Merrill when I actually wanted to jump Anders' bones.

It seems I also suck at Bioware games.

XD lucky for me I'm a spoiler junkie or I would've missed Sten my first runthrough D: And Wrex...

Heh. I hope they're in pretty obvious spots. I don't mind knowing spoilers to find them but they should at least be easy to find for those who want to play blind <3

Fenris pretty much got me when he spoke. But I decided to romance Anders first. Got to that trainwreck of an ending (friendship mance this was I think) went rivalry, got THAT trainwreck of an ending romanced Fenris friendship or rivalry he's

Them is not singular, no matter how much you want it to be. :/

They can be killed outright, correct by your claims? No, they cannot, yet you say that is how the link works. Look, if you haven't played the game that much, that's cool, but you made assertions that are simply untrue in the game. I consider myself a rookie at the storyline of the game compared to some iI know who can quote word for word the whole of the game. I've literally played the game more than 15 times.

Again, you cannot miss Zevran, that's a fact to the original script, the script to encounter him is set in-stone, it is an imperative. Unless you have some mod that alters the game state, you have no basis on your claim.

Maybe it's because I'm not so emotionally attached to them as to Anders, or maybe it's because I know Isabela will escape either way, and Fenris won't be killed, he'll have his memory erased. Or maybe it's something else. But I just couldn't make my Hawke kill Anders (and his BFF) in the end.

Oh...Wrex ...I was SOO far into the game before he ambushed me. I had no idea what he was even talking about by then "I killed some dude you wanted to kill? Should I apologize to you? You're coming with me? What?"

Also I recruited Liara so late I think she had to mind meld with me twice in a row. She went from hallucinating to being all 'I can translate ALL this random crap stuck in your head'. She did not seem anywhere near stable enough to do it. (Talk about an info dump though dang).

LOL

Ugh I tend to recruit Liara last now. Only one brain splooge scene that way. Plus her having to rest everytime she did it got annoying quick.

Have his memory erased and back into being a slave for Danarius. Killing him would've been kinder.

On the note of romances and companions. Hopefully certain companions won't be willing to go along with you selling someone into slavery. (You'd think Aveline if no one else would've attempted to put a stop to that).

Maybe, but the game doesn't offer this option. Again, in my headcanon I would never betray my followers, ever. Even if I am basically a rival to Fenris every time I play.

It probably would have been annoying except I didn't know what was going on.

Yes it does. Side with the mages and have him at low rivalry/friendship. You can kill him. Failing that you can tell him to leave.

Your character did betray him. You (talking about your character with this you not you you) went there after he asked you for help and you threw him under the bus. That was a betrayal. Even during Fenris rivalry you help him. You just disagree with how he goes about things. If you ever decide not to help him (particularly with Hadriana) after a while of you NOT helping Fenris will bounce. You can get him to leave that way if you don't want to complete act 2 first and didn't want to do it after recruiting him.

You don't give Isabela to the Arishok or Fenris to Danarius and say your PC doesn't betray his/her followers. That doesn't work. Rival doesn't mean sworn enemy it means someone they disagree with but still has their back.

I'm the complete opposite, can't bring myself to betray isabela or fenris and i almost always kill anders at the end, i think Because i like anders and i was friends with him is the reason i kill him, at the end my hawke believes the person at the end is not anders, not anymore. throughout the arcs he changed from an upbeat anders to a more serious and obsessed justice/vengeance.  And what he did, murdering innocents and elthina in that explosion, i find unforgivable (and i play my hawke as a mage and side with mages).

I don't think you need to be evil to kill Anders.

You could either see it as an act of justice or of mercy.

My first world is so doomed.

I had to kill Fenris in the finale the first time I made it to act 3. And I killed Anders b/c ...Sebastian...with the yelling, threats, and the angry voice.

Does this mean that Merrill is the only one who 1) you have to recruit AND who can only die/leave b/c of the the friendship/rivalry score at the end? (Fenris and Isabela can both go away earlier, Anders obviously has plot armor but I don't see why Merrill would have it) Or is there another way to get rid of her (If one wanted to, I don't but its curious).

Agreed. It's more a mercy kill than anything to me.

Hehehe so is mine. Evil FemQunari mage Necromancer is gonna see it burn.

Yeah Merrill's the only forced recruit that can die at the end. It's pretty weird you're forced to recruit her to begin with. I think Aveline's supposed to be able to leave Hawke but I've never been able to do it. Probably bugged.

Varric as well.

Varric doesn't leave/die because of rivalry/friendship score though. He always sides with Hawke.

I finally got around to creating a forever-alone jerkass Hawke that pretty much makes everyone his rival. It sure was rough. I could never do that with my "canon" Hawke.
