Personally I'm a big fan of the primal school of magic, and (assuming mages will have these same or similar powers) I'm really excited to see what things like fireball, tempest, stonefist etc will look like.  I'm hoping even basic mage attacks will be cool.

What would you be excited to see?

Virulent Walking Bomb.. with friendly fire on....

Also.. if it made a return then freaking storm of the century!!! Oh the good old days of killing your entire squad with a single cast!

Force Field, and the spell combinations involving the paralysis glyph /crushing prison/repulsion glyph spells. With those and the paralysis spells, you could have some intense crowd control. Force Field was a great tactical spell, it was sad when they removed it in DA2.

I would like to see some more done with the 'force' tree of mage skills. That was a lot of fun in DA2.

Force mage with built in physics. I want to throw my enemies off cliffs for once.

Walking Bomb <3

That crushing prison spell animation Hawke used in the trailer. I know it was used in DA2, but the spell lighting and effects were really underwhelming.

it's all too shiny. only primal school should have any visual effects. other schools should only trigger enhanced body explosion animations.

flashes of pretty blue light kind of take away the moment when you're painting walls with blood of your enemies. tearing ppl asunder shouldn't be acommpanied by pink glow.

Chain Lightning, Inferno(or Firestorm) and Blizzard. It'll be interesting to see how earthquake turns out.

Virulent Walking Bomb for sure.

Also shapeshifting is considered to be useless but I want to see how those spells look like.

From what we've seen already, the spells are looking amazing.

I'd like to see the Primal tree enhanced more, like opening up the earth under foes or throwing up rock like Dragon's Dogma. Actually, I'd love if Dragon age took some visual inspiration from the spells in that game, the high level sorcerer powers were crazy ( maelstrom is particularly amazing/scary)

Shatter, virulent walking bomb, anything that causes a chain reaction (explosion's esp) I really would love to have a meteor shower spell or fire rain/ice rain.

Looking forward to the Primal Tree, but also, the Force Mage tree because those had the coolest animations for Hawke in Dragon Age II.

I'm not sure if it's meteors, but we definitely have a firestorm which looks pretty similar to me

Primal and spirit magic, I also want to see elemental magic effects as well,I think Vivienne's fire storm was pretty impressive in the demo and also some improved forms for shape shifters if the specialization returns(please!)

Paralyze spell... nuff said...  revamp the lightning and fire animations, i dont want random fireballs forming from the sky randomly and make the lightning animations similar to how they were in origins, they just seemed to lack the powerful look in da2

What I like to see is a finishing move for a mage. If an enemy is within reach of the mage on the ground, he/she uses a downward thrust of his/her staff (like a spear)that kills the enemy. I doubt this will happen or ever happen in future DA games.

I like to see the walking bomb spell. I always like that spell. The crushing prison spell. Make it where you use it against more than 1 enemy.

Add hailstorm spell. Like firestorm spell except hail falls from the sky onto the enemy

I'm looking forward to the fire animations. They did a really good job with them in DAII.

Lightning spells and stuff from the Spirit tree, too. And Crushing Prison, as always.

I'd love to see how the new fireball looks, cause the one in DA2 was kind of underwhelming. I expected more....oompf out of it.

I'd like to see some of the Force Mage spells being updated as well.

I'd like to see all spells have a localized indicator of stresses on the Veil. A slight warping around the caster, perhaps, or a sickly light spilling out of micro-tears at the point the spell takes effect.

Primal, because the abilities looked awesome in DA2, such as the revamped Rock Armour and Chain Lightning.

And Mind Blast would look amazing if it became a proper shockwave and shattered the ground beneath us a little bit. Give it some punch!

I'd like to see an earthquake spell where the earth tears and buckles. More localized with cracks opening and peaks shooting out of the ground.

My all time favorite mage move is cone of cold and then stone fist.  Not sure why, but I love watching my enemy shatter.  I'd be a happy mage if I can do this in DA:I

I'm a sucker for effects though. :P

Ooooooh I would be over the moon if they had something like maelstrom. That was probably one of the coolest and most powerful spells I've ever seen. Though I was not a fan of the huge charge time.

Yes for finishing move!! I'd also like to see a cool basic attack animation, like they had in DA2 for mages. Something to make me feel like I can reasonably kick butt while my spells are on cooldown.

I'd love to see all the Entropy spells in the new engine. I loved how they looked in DA2, all smokey and stuff.
