So are we even able to discuss the changes anymore?

It seems odd that a thread designed for discussion of the removal of off-topic groups was locked because it was going off-topic, but whatever.

Is the company saying that we're not even allowed to discuss the matter though? Not like a warning was issued beforehand, just "off-topic, lock".

You know it! Don't talk to BioWare. Don't talk to anyone BioWare knows. Don't talk to yourself. Don't talk ever again.

If we were actually discussing the changes and not bickering like 5 year olds, maybe the thread would've stayed open, perhaps someone may have even taken us seriously when we kept asking for a Bioware employee to address it.

Please actually talking to us wasn't even the point of that thread, it was literally there so we wouldn't start threads in other areas of the forum. There were several very reasonable posts, and like 3 who people who kept bickering, could just tell those people to knock it of or ban them and then and talk to the rest of us instead of staying silent for days and then locking the topic. But I guess that'd be work.

From experience, no they won't listen to you no matter what you say. BioWare constantly makes decisions that they'll stick by no matter what and only open discussion for a semblance of actually listening, when in fact they are just waiting for the one person to come and bicker, thus giving them an excuse to lock the thread. If BioWare were actually interested in discussing this, they would have talked to us before just dumbing the news on us. Instead, they've basically said they were going to do it, and we would have to deal with it. This long before BSN went read only. This change was hinted at months ago, the time for talking is done on this issue. Long before it began.

That's real talk. Not everyone was doing it; I guess I'm more disappointed that like Br3ad said, it wasn't up for discussion in the first place. That, and a lot of us that expressed displeasure with the decision embrace the idea of having more meaningful relationships with fellow forumites beyond our gameplay experiences. It's weird to me that not everyone feels this way, but I can't expect everyone to have the same feelings as me or what I perceive to be the majority of the community.

Yep, reminds me of a certain action done by Chris with the romance section.  Actions of a few, ruining it for the rest.

I just learned today about this. Does that mean groups like Doctor Who or my own British Detective Series are getting the axe? :(

Seems to be the case, they need to be bioware game related to be on topic.

Pity. I can understand the decision even if I don't particularly agree with it. I'll have to create a group on FB then. That'll be a laugh. :D

That thread is what the entirety of BSN will become once the groups are purged.

Just you wait.

Do you think it would do any good?

They aren't going to change their minds about it. I wouldn't mind knowing their reasoning behind the decision, but I don't think they will tell us.

Don't you guys get it? That thread was meant to gather feedback that the mods could ignore.

I was disappointed that some posters in that thread felt the need to de-rail the issue by fighting amongst themselves, it was childish and unnecessary. Alot of posters made some excellent points but due to bad moderation and silence from Bioware *surprise surprise* our points fell on deaf ears. Bioware won't read that thread, they don't seem to care but I am impressed by how easily they can think of new ways to irritate and alienate their loyal fans here.

Listen here, things are changing for the better.  Here's a video of what it takes to be here these days:

Trust it.  You'll be better off.  Remember, buy DLC.
