I'm now at Beggar nest and trying to figure a way to earn extra experience. I heard there are places where you can harvest more experience than usual? Is that place somewhere in Beggar nest? I know about Snow globe xp harvesting, but where are the others. As I understand, you can spoil the story in this subforum, but I already played the game.

Could you tell me where I can harvest experience. You can pm me, if spoilers are not allowed.

There is no point in xp harvesting in official campaigns.

What Shadooow said.

1. You can't take your campaign characters into online worlds anyway

2. If your XP is too low for another campaign they'll usually automatically level you up

3. You can always type

##DebugMode 1

##GiveXP A

##DebugMode 0

where A is the amount of XP you want if you find yourself needing more experience -- just as legitimate as "farming" XP in a campaign.

I thought I remembered a thread that discussed this topic recently, but I can't find it.

I don't know all the places where you can harvest XP, but besides the snow globe in chapter 3, there is one I know about in chapter 2. In the woods, there is an obelisk. You are supposed to answer it with 3 words that make a sentence. If you answer correctly, the obelisk tuens into a portal, but if you answer wrong, 2 skeleton warriors appear. You can answer wrong on purpose over and over until you level up. After you level up, the experience you get from the skeletons is too small to be worth continuing.

Here is one I accidently stumbled upon in the Aielund Saga, but I don't know if there is any place in the OC where it will work. If you take an object from a sarcophagus and a mummy appears, after you kill the mummy, try putting that object back into the sarcophagus, and maybe the mummy will appear again. If this works, just keep taking and replacing that object until you have had your fill of XP.

I know that there are more, but I don't know what they are.

If you still love XP harvesting after the tips given to you by the other posts then I'll show some.

If you are in the "beggars' nest" the better place is the coffin located in the warrens of the damned. By putting something inside and or taking it away you can make the mummy spawn (the more items you put and take the more mummies will pour out). If your cleric has a very strong "turning undead" you can arrange the spawning of, let's say, 10 mummies to blow away with a single turning (other means can apply, i.e. fireballs, wall of fire, traps etc.).

Another "spawning point" is the "gauntlet arena". If you get out the arena before resting is allowed (soon after you kill your opponent) you'll be forced to fight against the same enemy (let's assume you fought Hrusk you'll face him again even if already beaten) or simply get rid of the badge you just earned.

A slight change on the matter could be the firing on the pires (3 in the Peninsula, 2 in the Beggars Nest and 3 in the Docks): after you light them with a torch you can keep on hitting them with some fire weapon gaining 25XPs per succesful shot. The least fire you put per shot the more hits the pire can get before "expiring".

In the 2nd chapter there is the spawning of the two skeleton warriors next to the "totem" in the "haunted forest" just outside Charwood (keep on using the wrong sequence of words).

3rd floor in the Arcane Brotherhood Tower, wait for the Imps and Mephits to spawn from the pools.

Portal in Kurth's hideout or altar in Baram's one between the two Yuan Ti.

Others are available but by then you will be higher on levels and those spawns will be almost useless since every kill could grant you from 2 to 4 XPs.

Time is yours to spend as you like ;-)

Hope I answered to you.

The beggar's nest mummies are so much fun to combo with spells.  You can kill 60 of em at once, at level 5 or 6, with the right kit.  It's not even for power leveling, it's for science.  The trick is to spawn them while you are invisible.

Practically the best feature of the OC, in my opinion.

In the 1st chapter, note that you can kill the priests of 'Tyr' without going evil: just make sure the guards don't see you. Darkness spells are your friend here.

You can also kill henchmen. I always kill Grimnaw (hey, he wants it) and pick the pocket of Tomi, who will then attack (hypocrite). Make sure you've got their items first (and remember that you can duplicate the rings in Diving Pool, and they stack).

If you attack Grimnaw in the mercenary barracks, the mercs will attack you as well. Don't attack Tomi, at least not in the temple, as the dying patients will become hostile - I watched in horror once as my summoned monster went on a rampage killing them all and doing horrible things to my alignment! Let him start it.

I had problems with the mummy spawning technique as I'd get a free Attack of Opportunity on a mummy going past, making me visible - locking/unlocking the coffin kept my PC busy while I was moving things in/out of the coffin.

A fun one in Luskan is at Host Tower Level Four - the golem rods are unique items, so if you drop them, the Divining Pool in the temple will create a duplicate. Each Replication Rod produces a Helm Horror and you will be rewarded with 50 experience points; sending 20+ Helm Horrors into battle really changes things :) Alternately, you can create the Helm Horrors without using the control rod, and destroy them, but obviously it is easier to drop down to the 3rd level - rather than fighting all of the critters there, I recommend destroying one brazier and then putting a summoned Hound Archon in front of the other. Sit behind an invisibility spell, and go and get a cuppa :P

Wizards and sorcerers eventually don't even need encounters at all; a summoned Balor will attack you if you don't have a protection from evil spell up - and in addition to xp, they regularly drop tiny amounts of loot.

[edit] Oh, two other Divining Pool tricks - at Jhareg's Castle you get a unique key and are expected to chose between 3 doors; by duplicating the key you can open all 3. While back in Chapter 1, when you get notes from the thugs who ambush you after you recover a reagent, you can take it to Fenthick for  50 experience points and 300 gold pieces (+50 gold pieces with a successful persuasion check) - the notes are also unique and so can be duplicated. I recommend doing this at least once for the surreal situation of having Desther being the good guy, trying to warn Fenthick against the scoundrel who is robbing him!

I don't know of any exploits in the original campaign, but in HotU you can keep farming vampires in the 2nd Chapter endlessly (each of them respawns after a couple of minutes). Regular vampires don't give much XP, but elite female vampires can help you get 5-6 levels up in just a couple of hours. They are quite tough though (on Very Difficult, at least).

Oh, here is a tricky one. You must have animal empathy feat. Let your enemy spellcasters summon their animals and make them friendly but soon after have them removed from your party. Killing them after that will reward you with xps. The more they summon the more the xps. Obviously kill the spellcasters when he dors not summon help anymore

For druid toons do first forest druid test just drop ring and do same test over forever dropping ring or til you get sick of stupid farm then start to keep rings.  After all tests done, be evil and kill all druids for XP and good loot but king will never fight so will not crash spirit quest.

Yes, that is true, never miss to kill em for the loot. All thr druids drop armor and weapons, sickles and one heavy flail. No change in alignement except for the sleeping man nearby which will turn hostile. Keep the distance in order to avoid that

No. This only copy once.  If want 3, must spawn m2q3h_riddlekey.  Only side doors get any XP so only 2 key for farm.
