The new cover art is amazing! It is actually so amazing that it deserves its own thread. BioWare have really outdone themselves this time.

While it's not bad, it's just nothing special in term of color contrast (Orange/blue). The demons look cool, I guess.

The game is about a tear in the veil. There's a tear on inquisitor's hand. 1+1 =?

Not really seeing the similarity. Green and dark blue/grey seem to be the predominant colors with orange in the mix.

No. Not really. Those look like generic movie posters.  This cover art--in my opinion--looks much cooler/more visually interesting than any of them.

I was so excited that I jumped like a little kid when I saw the cover on facebook.

The dragon silhouette, the way it is more obvious when you look at it from afar, is brilliant.

 

The Inquisitor looks rather manly to me. There is of course the context of expectations colouring ones perception, but the back, the broad looking shoulds and hands look rather manly to me heavy armour or no.

It just provides a bit of context, a glowing gash on the hand seems to me like this power is given rather than something natural to the PC, if so the theory of the PC being a spirit is less likely.

 

The next question is, who or what gave it to us and how as well as why.

I like that it is not gender specific. The Inquisitor on the cover could be male or female, though they are probably human.

As far as a piece of marketing goes, it could be much more offensive. It's actually quite good, if not daring. Again though, marketing is based on metrics, not risks.

Seeing how this is being hailed as "gender-neutral cover-art" on Gamespot, I just wish to one day wake up in a world where stuff like that about a game with a sort-of custom protagonist isn't news.
