It's obviously dwarf
Nuh uh, it's obviously a dragon.
The Inquisitor is a dragon.
Oops, sorry for the spoilers!!!

I like that the cover features a lot of the aspects of Inquisition as well. First and most obvious to me, is the Inquisitor overlooking a vast open area which to me signals the change in world building from Enclosed corridors to large areas. You've got the Fade Tear and what I assume is the Inquisitor's relationship to it encapulsated with the energy and mark(?) on the right hand. The Dragon that put the Dragon in Dragon Age of course, Party members hidden way off to the side, and the overal apocalypted feel of everything.
Like I said, an impressive piece for marketing material. Not as daring as showing Nothing like the Elder Scrolls games, and not as unique and memorable as Dark Souls resting Faraam Knight, but still good nevertheless.

I like that they're calling in dragon age: INQUISITION.
Implies its mostly on its own versus a continuation of a story.
I also like how it paints the demons as the big enemy.

Also if they called it Dragon Age 3 it would remind people of Dragon Age 2.

I was about to say that the negative image would have made quality box art in it's own right! It looks awesome!

DAO's cover was dull IMO, this one makes me excited
This cover art is traditional, reminds me of the movie posters of the 80's which were very literal and packed with detail. That doesn't fly these days. DA:O's cover was bold and simple, great for catching the eye from a distance. In regard to the inquisitor I suppose we don't know the gender but if Bioware wanted to play it bold they could have just used a female, facing the viewer.

Had to put on my lollerskates and board the roflcopter for that one.

Someone seemed upset at only seeing the back of the character. Why should we see the front? We're supposed to be able to look at an ambiguous character and picture ourselves (or our desired PC) in the role. That's the beauty of these games. I don't care who anyone else wants that person to be, I want to be able to look at the picture and imagine myself there. And I can, so well done

Also, the armor itself is bulky but the hand and actual limbs we can see under it are neither large nor small. Looks wonderful ![]()

Also if they called it Dragon Age 3 it would remind people of Dragon Age 2.
And it makes people think they have to play Origins and 2 because a lot of stories are naturally trilogies.
A friend of mine didn't bother playing Mass Effect 2 because he couldn't get himself through Mass Effect 1's aged-very-poorly mechanics.
I know other friends who've been put off series because of that. I haven't got to the Witcher 2 yet because I refuse to start it before finishing one and blargh that games controls sometimes.

I love how "dark fantasy" this cover looks.

Hopefully this means the end of the blood dragon marketing.
Anyway, it's all right, I guess. I think I was still hoping for something more stylized, and I'm definitely tired of "man on box, looking serious doing serious things", but the art here sure is pretty enough.

The art does remind me a little bit of Dark Souls 2. Those of you who Pre-ordered don't know what I'm talking about though, since we got the much better Steelbook.

Now that you've mentioned that, it does look a bit similar to Star Trek 2's poster - figure standing in middle, being powerful.
Still like it though. ![]()

I was so excited that I jumped like a little kid when I saw the cover on facebook.
The dragon silhouette, the way it is more obvious when you look at it from afar, is brilliant.
The Inquisitor looks rather manly to me. There is of course the context of expectations colouring ones perception, but the back, the broad looking shoulds and hands look rather manly to me heavy armour or no.

Anyone else only just now notice the Dragon Silhouette? xd

Someone over on NeoGaf created a negative of the image to make it easier to see the dragon, and then someone else recoloured it red (sorry if already posted) - thought it looked pretty cool. I LOVE the boxart, definitely my favourite of the series, kudos and thanks to the artists/designers. And to me, the Inquisitor looks female
Love it. Almost every variation of this art is also great.
Nice signature btw.

The figure actually jumped out as "GIRL" to me when I saw it. I'm happy it's not overtly masculine, anyways.
Yeah, even the angle of the shoulders help disguise their width. The Inquisitor overall was so cleverly done, I wish I could give the artists a hug and thank them.
