The abominations coming out of the sky have pretty bones, 10/10 just for that reason.

I think it's a cool cover.
The inquisitor is definitely human though. They're too thick to be elf, too small to be qunari, too tall to be dwarf. The composition of the poster looks generic. I'm not saying it's bad, but it's just not something we haven't seen before.
The elves being skinny was a DA2 thing DA:I is clearly moving away from; I don't think we can tell anything from that. There's no figure for perspective so the Inquisitor could be human or elven, male or female. Obviously isn't a Qunari male or a dwarf of any sort.

Yeah this has me slightly confused. I know people far more experienced and knowledgeable than I are working on this project and probably know what they're doing. But it seems odd that they're moving so far away from such distinctive brand recognition.
Though it's a very clever piece of art, it looks distinctive and at the very least doesn't include a grizzled white guy glaring at the camera. I'd definitely take a look at it if I were just browsing through games.
DAI will be a reboot of the DA franchise; that's why they're discarding the blood motif imagery!

Beautiful. Bravo to everyone involved on the cover!

You guys are still on about the gender of the Inquisitor, I see.
The narrow waste to me makes it seem like a woman. Thickness of the legs might suggest man. But at the end of the day it's hard to tell because of all that armor.
Point is, I think they did a brilliant job with the ambiguity. Like, really good.
So let people see what they want to see, for crying out loud!

Blood Dragon was boring in my opinion. I like the Negative Fade Dragon more.
Love it or hate it, I think we can all agree that it's at least not Mass Effect 2's Box Art. (Non CE)

Maybe they want to move away from the old brand recognition, after the supposed 'disaster' of da2. If you see a very strong resemblance to a product you didn't like, than you will skip over it without much thought. But if the product looks quite different from the original, your more likely to pause and think about purchasing it or w/e.

It looks like a bulky man is wearing bulk armour. Not a woman wearing bulky armour.
Thats because of your own conception, not the actual armor itself.

It's one of the few covers Bioware has done that I believe would genuinely catch my eye in the store if I had no knowledge of the company. I tend to just completely disregard "grizzled white guy posing with gun/sword" game covers instantaneously, but the Inquisitor here appeared female to me the first time I saw it. I could very well see myself going "hmm is that a man or a woman?" in the store, picking up the game, reading the back and then seeing that it was a single-player RPG where you can choose your gender and race, which would make it an instant buy for me (as I love those kind of games in general). Very cleverly done, and kudos to the person (or people) who came up with it.
I have a feeling it's reveal means that we'll be seeing a release date soon. Probably by the end of the month.

I think that Cassandra, Aveline, and Meredith would all have similar silhouettes from the back, too.So, yeah, I don't see it as definitively as one or the other.

I like the whole flameing sword but why would the Inquisitor be reaching for tear in the veil unless he has some power to seal them?

The cover is reminiscent of some of the box art we used to have in the 90's. Great stuff... ![]()

Including the title for DA:I. It used to strongly resemble the title for Dragon Age II, but now it is closer to the style used in DA:O.
They really don't want anybody to think "Dragon Age II", when they see the cover. Good idea too.

(this is the old title from 2012)

*facepalm* we DO know that. That's why they said quote unquote, "They say only the Inquisitor has the power to stop it...", its also in previous concept art, and now on the box cover

I like that the main character has a badass pose, but it's not cool&indifferent, they are reaching in a dramatic pose to a "sky" filled with demons.

No dragons I see and the boxart looks like it was inspired by Dark Souls overall -- Could have fooled me.
There is a dragon, just a fade mist type dragon instead of a literal one :3
