Probably trying to farm credits with fewest consumable investment. *shrug*
Everyone probably has their own idea of what will net them the most credits.

Okay then maybe you can answer the question. Why Gold? Were these guys a bunch of bronze level noobies looking to cash in? Were they trying camp Gold without having to use consumables? Were they only using Lvl 1/2 consumables? How long did your match take?
I wish I knew why, but I have seen a lot of Giant players on Gold now. It's bad enough on Platinum but Gold is just silly.
It's because Giant is obviously the best map.
For Tuchanka!

They had a mixture of level I, II, and III stuff, although not in every slot, and modest N7 and CP scores, so they weren't all that green. It literally looked like a typical pug lobby.
The early waves were quite quick (albeit messy), but the later waves were slow and unpleasant, to say the least. I think the game lasted just shy of half an hour altogether, but I can't be sure.
Put simply, I have no bloody clue what on earth their reasoning was, a normal U/U/G would have been quicker and easier, not to mention less stressful for me!
All of mine have been GIPs so far but they definitely had equipment on (I could see the ammo mod icons on their guns). THe one that I whined about in that post above was pretty funny since they had ammo mods on but literally never once shot their weapons. THe Jugg HMed and the Slayer wallbanged. That was all they did. Managed to trick the slayer into detonating my tech bursts on the demogirl, though. And in that specific instance both were team oriented in the sense of reviving when safe, doing objectives, trying to watch each other's backs.
My sense from playing with them is that they were likely bronze or maybe silver players who were trying to step up to gold for more credits. And hey, no harm no foul; FBWGG is how I learned to gold when I was too green. It just wasn't very fun and took forever, even with me running around to get other spawns and kite so they didn't get overwhelmed in the hallway. I do think those specific two players will be great teammates when they get better with the game mechanics. They had very nice MP manners they just don't know what they're doing yet.
Sounds like it's time to write a "How To Camp" thread.
I am glad I am not missing out on PUGging. What a freakin' chore that must be to camp there on Glacier. I would have quit on the first wave.

seems to be an appropriate response for that sort of behavior.

Giant has always been a nice map for people who want to claim they're not "camping" while really camping. The majority of the player base considers gold hard.
I dunno, I always saw lots of pre-set Giant when pugging back in the day. Who knows, maybe it's worse now.

I was kind of hoping they'd wander out a bit with me when they realized I was all over the map. And a fourth never dropped in with us so I did have to drop back to them from time to time if I took on more heat than I could handle. I don't suck at this game anymore but I'm not all that or anything.
Dunvi, I still see a lot of Giant on gold but I don't always see people camping it. I generally mind camping on that map less than others though because it doesn't feels more like "hold the line" than "camping" which probably sounds like a distinction without a difference but I see a subtle shade there. I think it's just generally an easy map (whether you camp it or not) so a lot of people preset it.

Oh I agree it's just generally an easy map. I would just argue that it is so because it naturally devolves into a camping map - perhaps with the camped zone extending quite far, and with more than one place that is good to camp, but nevertheless I find gameplay on it is less circular and more wander away, run back.
OH SNAP!
I'll just post it in your profile page so that you can remove it if you want ![]()
What is this? Is 70s retro fashion coming back in style?
