They're gonna re-release Mass Effect Redux Trilogy on next gen consoles, probably in the next year or so.
Then Mass Effect 4 will be a sequel to ME3 and will star Shepard.
Watch, it will happen, EA luvs to recycle, recycle, recycle old content and charge for it, and gamers eat it up. **Cough, Cough** Battlefield series, **cough, cough**.
Another direct case in point is Citadel DLC, widely regarded as the best DLC and most lucrative DLC for Mass Effect to date. Citadel was almost in it' entirety, cut content from Mass Effect 2.
Yeah.
BioWare is going to re-release the Trilogy on Next gen consoles. Mass Effect 4 will be PS4, XB1, and PC. But will use saves from PC, and will use the 'newest' version of saves from PS4 and XB1 users. There will also be a "Genesis" option for players that did not buy and import the re-release of ME1,2,3 on XB1/PS4, and obviously the same goes for PC player base. The "Genesis" option will incorporate the interactive comics for ME2 and ME3 new players-, but it also incorporate a New interactive comic about the decisions AND ENDING "CHOICE" from ME3.
Mass Effect 4 will begin in London, Circa 2186, in the night, by the "beam", under some rubble.
The above just reeks of EA business policy. That's why it's a strong possibility.
