Since there shouldn't be ME3 style autodialogue, from what we've been told, I don't think you can draw to many conclusions about what sort of character you can play from the trailer - that's probably the "noble" option, the "direct" or "smart" options may be less caring. Particularly since there's 2 voice actors per gender.
The trailer is very generic fantasy-y, I agree with that. Though I don't find that inherently a terrible thing.

I would personally care about my sibling more than about world going into chaos, but hey maybe it's different people speaking, you can't please everyone.

Perhaps the second voice might have a more easy going attitude in it, and I would like that. That is a good point.

This is one of the reasons I hate voiced protagonist. What if I don't care about all the dead people? What if I just want to investigate the veils and see if it really a threat or if there can be something useful gained from breaching the veil? What if I don't like emotional people and don't want to play one? What if I want to roleplay a little closer to home? A lot of things you know.
And then the trailer just comes and says: ''Nah, you DO care, you are this and this, and you sound like this ( not even just the voice but the expression the manner. )
Just rubs me the wrong way.
They can make selections that everyone wants. That the limit to all video game rpgs. It matters not if it's voices or not.

That's like not caring that the island you live in is on fire. If the world goes, you go with it.

See, I pray for no auto dialogue, but trailer doesn't keep the inquisitor silent which is basically like auto dialogue. It just shows that inquisitor has an inbuilt attitude that is not controlled by the player.

Not necessary, for example I may be say a strong enough individual to deal with any personal threats coming my way while others can't defend themselves like I can. But we don't know enough yet.

Presumably there will be more neutral dialogue options available.

Well, this makes twice in one day.
I really think folks are reading more into that picture than what is there. It's a great high resolution wide-angle shot of all the companions/ named plot important NPCs we'll be meeting in our journey and giving us a direct hand. Nothing more, nothing less.
Agreed. People need to stop putting their hate of religion into everything. It's just as bad as religious people putting their religion into everything,

Not sure how that would help you if the world is destroyed...

If I can stop the whole world from being destroyed, how hard is it to protect just myself before I just observe the whole situation to figure out if the threat is a threat in the first place?

The PC's words in the trailer might be from dialogues we choose ourselves in the game.See, I pray for no auto dialogue, but trailer doesn't keep the inquisitor silent which is basically like auto dialogue. It just shows that inquisitor has an inbuilt attitude that is not controlled by the player.

I made an error in my statement.

I really have no idea what it even is you're asking for here. You want the Inquisitor to do nothing for a long time? And to not care about the world around him, just being apathetic while the world burns? How is that a video game? When has a video game EVER allowed you such "freedom"? And how could your Inquisitor not take a massive explosion that kills thousands and pours demons into the living world as a threat?

I don't see why you are assuming that your Inquisitor will say those lines, in a game that has both a dialogue and reaction wheel.

Because it's a baseless objection statement. Their is no ground to support the theory. Added, religion is not the only thing that has self sacrifice for other in it.
I can easily say that ME3 is bad for having the same themes of tales of two cities in it and have as much ground as you have saying the ending is religious.
Heck, I would have more ground saying that the control ending is the reuse of Baldur's Gate:ToB's God hood ending.

Because a veil tear to me personally is a very ambiguous thing unlike the darkspawn for example. But hey even if it's clear of the bat that the veil tears are nothing but danger and death and absolutely must be stopped in order for the world to survive ( which is fair enough ), can I at least be calm about it?

Because I played DA2 and ME3 and had my character spew out enough random emotional crap that I would never want them to say.

True, but freedom of expression and assumption.
