No one is strong enough to protect themselves from the world being swallowed up.
IF that is really the case. There's a whole group working towards the breach, you think they want to randomly die? Are they as mindless as darkspawn?

Because I played DA2 and ME3 and had my character spew out enough random emotional crap that I would never want them to say.
da2 was basically selections for emotions. 3 emotions but emotions none the less.

Just a little bit too emotional and worked up in my opinion and in some cases without alternatives.
Why are we arguing with KainD? He has his opinion, let him be. No need to argue with him, he said nothing wrong nor anything that needs to be corrected. Simple fact is, no matter what Bioware does some people will be disappointed. Now back on topic.
Happy Dance, because that trailer is smexy!
True, but freedom of expression and assumption.
Only if the statement has validation will it be respected.

That sounds perfect.

Is it just me or is Iron Bull's head comically small?
I thought the same thing.
Because a veil tear to me personally is a very ambiguous thing unlike the darkspawn for example. But hey even if it's clear of the bat that the veil tears are nothing but danger and death and absolutely must be stopped in order for the world to survive ( which is fair enough ), can I at least be calm about it?
Everything we've seen so far suggests that if left alone, the breech will destroy the world. I would say that's threatening enough and demands that it be stopped for the world to survive(being destroyed tends to be bad for survival).
In a video game you're very rarely going to be able to play the exact character that you want to play, voiced character or not. There are just technological limitations than pen and paper doesn't have. Even in Origins I couldn't pick the response that I personally would have done in that situation every time.

How? It was never over the top and you had the freedom to select which emotion.
It's strange. My remembrance of the 'information drought' encompassing this game feels vivid, almost like yesterday, & yet so much time has passed since then. Now there's trailers, confirmation on release, & the reveal of the full character roster. It's surreal. My mind can't comprehend what's happening.

I agree. Though personally Origins was miles better than DA2 or ME series simply because there was no voice acting.

It was over the top, but that's just my opinion, don't think too much about it.

You have to realize that the person speaking always has some sort of validation for themselves, otherwise they would be silent.

While there was no voice acting, a lot of the responses to your dialogue were done as though the dialogue you picked had a very specific tone to it anyway which kind of dampens the freedom of Origins.
Damn, Leliana looks great ![]()
Right. Here's my main disappointment - I like to roleplay myself as the character, thinking what I personally would do in all situations and it was just confirmed that I will not be able to do this. Now I do still enjoy roleplaying out of character, roleplaying someone else, but I enjoy it less. There.
I feel like maybe this just isn't the game to expect that from. If you want to role play a character that you have 100% control over, do it the old fashioned way, with pen and paper. Bioware games balance player control with creator storytelling, which means that at the end of the day, we just can't control every aspect of the characters that we play.
But anyway, we still don't know what all the voice actors sound like with all three emotional options, so maybe wait and see.

I get that, that's why I also said that it's cliche. It just gets a little boring after a while, why save the world over and over again? You have such an interesting setting why not make a few different protagonists with their own stories? A game about playing a Qunari and conquering new lands for the Qun, a game playing a Tevinter magister that expands the empire with new slaves and wealth, a game about some Orleans noble and political intrigue etc, etc.
But hey, like I said I still enjoy the DA setting and I'll probably enjoy inquisition anyway.
Don't mind me anyway, I didn't like the trailer and I am now overly pissy and whinny. lol
I just want to point out that Cassandra states the obvious a lot.

Captain Cassandra.
Trailer looks great and some of those environments are very lovely. Not going to lie, I definitley felt giddy watching that. I'm glad to see Varric still has his cheesy humor.

Well, she's basically narrating the story for the benefit of the audience. And it sounds like some of the dialogue is her actually explaining the situation to the Inquisitor, who we know has no memory of what happened when the veil tore.
Is it just me, or the blondy rogue is ugly?
Still looks better than the bald elf.
I suddenly I have impulse to play DA2.
What is that tusked, troll-like creature in the trailer? Have we seen it before?
everything is perfect and nothing hurts!
