I don't see how they can make Cullen a military advisor, really not understanding that.  Leliana I sort of get, not Cullen.

Sadly, they wanted Loghain, but he'd lost his head.

Yup I totally don't get Cullen as an NCP and an LI to boot. I wonder if the other advisors are LI's too.

I understand that Cullen would have great insight into Mages and Templars, and would be a useful companion to have to fight Abominations and any rogue mages. But why an NCP again? Flemith, Bodhan and Sandal, Herron, I get... but why Cullen? I would love to understand the rationale to making Cullen a recurring NCP... always a bridesmaid and never a bride....poor me

As a Cullen fan I actually wanted him as a companion not an NCP. I am pretty bummed about it. Having said that - you think fan service is why? Well didnt service this fan for sure LOL

Considering how small his role is in the previous games, i think you should be grateful he's even in this, and in a pretty big role it seems.

Well, you might be right, but I feel like a bone was thrown to me as a Cullen fan, and that doesnt feel too terrific. I figured unless he is a companion dont bother.

If it turns out his role is rich and interesting and completes his story then perhaps then I will be grateful. Until then, not so much.

She's been comfirmed a companion..... and we've seen her in so many gameplay parts....

Leliana, no since they've said anyone who was a LI will not be again. 

Scribbles, probably to be the female NPC LI to balance Cullen.

I know she's a companion my meaning was that she could also be the military advisor for the Inquisition but like I said just a thought.

The companions are not just there to maybe follow the PC into battles, they are part of the inner circle of the Inquisition. They are part of the leadership. Iron Bull, GreyWarden Dude and Cassandra all look to have more military/war experience than Cullen.
