Socks with sandals?

Leliana would greatly disapprove of my usual choice of feet fashion, I know.

I wonder if elves have developed hobbit feet.

Isabela will sleep with anything that is alive and willing, period. Leliana is a little pickier. :)

Not sure how I feel about this characterization.

I just realized something disturbing. To my knowledge, one can play MotA and see Leliana there as an agent of the Divine in Act 1. Which means that Leliana has been at this for about ten years... and given the way the timeline works, it seems almost certain that her trip away during Awakening led to her promotion. And that makes me wonder if she was lying to the Warden about the purpose of her departure, or if her love was ever important to her at all; her claim that the Warden is "dear to her heart" rings a bit hollow.

In Awakenings, Leliana sends you a letter that says she's going to meet the Grand Cleric. She can't be an agent for the Divine then because the old Divine is still around. She probably start working directly for Dorthea at that point.

That said, Leliana can work for the Divine and love the Warden, just like people can serve in the army and intelligence agencies while having a spouse and children.

It's possible that she was acting as an agent of Dorothea before she was the Divine, in that case. Either way, she appears to have outright abandoned the Warden shockingly early.

All your LIs have 'abandoned' you by Awakenings.

I don't know. The Chantry is either the jailor of one of my Wardens or the enemy who wants to destroy the religion of my other Warden. Reconciling all that might be difficult.

I myself like thighs.

Actually, friends of mine say so. Because I've been going on about Leliana snapping a guy's neck with her thighs.

You have the same thighs as every other woman in the game Leliana. Stop being so hard on yourself.

That would so not cheer her up.

Leliana: And how do you know what all other women's thighs look like?

Warden: Uuhhh... Oh, darkspawn! *runs away*

In some cases:

"Well, I looked at mine."

...wouldn't work for an elf, but...

But... why did she go off and become an assassin for the Divine in the first place? Could we not be happy together in Ferelden?

If Leliana were the type to just stay together and be happy in Ferelden when the Divine needed her, she wouldn't have been to type to come up to the Warden and say 'I'm here to help you fight darkspawn.'

She didn't join your group because she loved you. She joined because the Maker sent her a vision about a terrible darkness that needed fighting. She's a religious warrior moved by dreams she has.

But she was also a highly independent religious warrior whose ties to the Chantry weren't particularly strong. She was an out-and-out heretic and never took any actual vows, and had serious issues with the way the Chantry was run, in addition to never bothering to prop up the Chantry's dogma in places like the Circle. I liked her more than most other Andrastians because she was faithful without dogma and realized you didn't need divinity explained by some political institution.

She had been living as a lay sister of the Chantry for years, And regarded Revered Mother Dorothea, the current Divine Justinia V as a friend and mentor..

Leliana is not a dogmatic hard-liner, but is still very much a devout Andrastrian.

But we never learned anything about Dorothea in the romance in DAO.

Leliana had a bad dream and decided this meant god wanted her to fight the darkspawn.

Maybe she had a bad dream and talked about it with her best buddy Dorthea who convinced her it meant she was meant to serve as an agent of the Chantry. If it makes you feel better, the Reverend Mother/Divine would probably screw with Leliana's head in a heartbeat. Leliana tends to be vulnerable to those types of manipulations.

No, but she is a critical character in Leliana's Song.

And in any case, despite her views on certain aspects of the Chantry, she still clearly believes in the institution as a whole.  She clearly thinks it's worth saving.  Especially is Justinia is at the helm.

Well, I'm open to learning more in the next game, certainly.

Judging by Leliana's Song and Asunder, Justinia's a better person than that.

Not enough to lift a finger to help any of the elves in TME... or nearly enough to help the mages in Asunder.

Somehow I doubt she'll leave the warden because she got another woman pregnant.

There we go-

Dorthea: You know how we had sex several years ago after I rescued you?
Leliana: Yes, Reverend Mother, but that was a mistake...
Dorthea: There's something I need to show you. *brings out little girl* This is your daughter.
Leliana: Are you feeling well Reverend Mother? Maybe you need to rest a bit? That's not my child.
Dorthea: It is. The Maker blessed our union.
Leliana: ...wow.
Dorthea: This child must be kept a secret from those who would harm her. Also, there will be no slacking off on your paternal duties. In order to keep her safe and happy, you must become one of my agents.
Leliana: This is all happening so fast! I'll need time to think this over.
Dorthea: You can have time to think about it after you assassinate this minor noble who's been speaking against me. Now say goodbye to your father, Matilda.
Little Girl: My name is Brittina.
Dorthea: Whatever.

The elves were Celene's department.  It was an Orlesian matter.  I doubt the Chantry had the authority to do more than say "Hey Celene, handle it"

As for the mages, Justinia  Actively promoted research into an alternative to the Rite of Tranquility  And then sent Leliana to help the mages escape the Templars and personally distracte3d Lambert in the process.

As far as mentors go, Leliana could do a lot worse.  In fact, the two are a  lot alike.

I imagine seeing Dorthea stroking a persian cat all the while she says that.
