I would probably laugh hysterically for hours, and then my laugh would gradually turn into cries.

I like her character. I just wonder why they changed her look from DAO to what we see in DA2.
In DA:O, she had a generic NPC body, face, and hair. In DA II, all the companions had unique looks.

Her skin and face are fine. Its her body. Was there a reasom to make her chest bigger than what we saw in DAO? And from the looks of it made her butt standout a lot more.
I like big boats. I cannot lie.

Apparently she was actually pretty dark skinned in DAO, it was the lighting in the Pearl that made her look pale. Beyond that, they wanted to make her more distinctive. I don't mind, I just wish they hadn't gone the no pants route.
What on earth are you talking about? Isabela is a pirate that likes brawling, booze, and sex. Like any other pirate, except she female. Shes introduced to us in the pearl in the middle of a duel and immediately afterwards you can convince her to have some sexy time with your warden. Doesn't even take that much convincing.
How exactly is this any different then how she acts in DA2?

Is this a serious question?
Why don't you fill me in on why they did? I only asked more out of curiosity than anything.
I like big boats. I cannot lie.
I have no problem with large ones since my lady friend has fairly large ones herself.

i doubt it, the only mention i could see is if the warden romanced her... and possibly about her death in the sacred ashes quest... thats about it though.... at least pertaining to her anyway

I'm going to guess they were going for diversity in body types for the companions as they wanted visual differences.
Merrill = short and skinny
Isabela = curvy
Aveline = square and muscular
Hee hee. Don't feel bad, Maria.
There's a lot more space here so I'll explain some of my reasons for being reticent. By the time the game is out, a character like Leliana will have had a huge ton of work poured into her, from several different departments—art, cinematics, level design, to name a few. Of course there is writing, but much of her character also comes across in how she looks, how she moves, the expressions on her face, and of course, her VO. There's so much that goes into fleshing out a character that it makes me a little uncomfortable how much people seem to obsess over just the writing.
Apart from that, people seem to believe they can predict whether they'll like a character going by who has written them. For instance: "Sheryl wrote Isabela, and Isabela was a worthless **** so I'm sure I'll hate whoever else Sheryl wrote." (This is an exaggerated and hugely simplified example. I don't think anyone has actually said this thing.) Setting aside the obvious problems of disliking people because of their perceived "sluttiness" or whatever, it also seems to imply that writers can only write one thing, or that their writing in the past is indicative of their writing in the future. Writers can grow too, you know. And sometimes we like to write things that are (gasp!) different from things we've previously written.
Anyway, those are my reasons for not wanting to answer Maria's question. I understand being totally excited about the character/game and grasping at every shred of information. I just feel that "who wrote what" can be misleading, and would prefer if people played the game without these preconceived ideas in place.
Okee! Carry on speculating. More shoe talk plzkthx.

I think it was probably the comic that was being referred to, where [spoily thing] is revealed that many people felt made her pretty irredeemable
Oh, the reveal that a pirate actually did some bad things?
How out of character for a sea-going brigand!

It's one thing to be a brigand who did "bad things". But the comic more made her into a monster. Which is something else, and absolutely made her seem a very different character than in the game. And the game didn't even hint at her doing something that bad, even when it had the opportunity to do so when Fenris asked her why she freed the slaves Castillion had her transport.

Dragon Age: Origins Leliana came off as sweet, girly, and friendly. I struggled to imagine her seducing and murdering people... which I suppose was the point. I'm sure her victims never saw it coming.
Dragon Age: Inquisition Leliana might have a bit more of an edge to her. She looks a bit more serious and haunted.
This makes me wonder if a possible Ultimate Sacrifice in DA:O alters her in some way. The old Epiloge made it so tragic.

When Isabela tells me that she's a pirate, am I to assume that she's an adventurous rogue, or should I assume she's murdered dozens of innocent people for their money?
Imagine that you learned that a friend or a family member was driving home, got carjacked, and was murdered for the cash in their wallet. Would you consider the killer a 'free-spirited scallywag?' Because historically speaking, pirates weren't good people; pirates were more like this.
But DA doesn't present her as a hardened criminal GTA style*, she's just a puckish rogue Saints Row style. Then we have the comics where she's something other than a puckish rogue. Where being a pirate maybe, might involve doing things most people would find wrong.
This makes me wonder if a possible Ultimate Sacrifice in DA:O alters her in some way. The old Epiloge made it so tragic
I'm glad she didn't kill herself.
*GTA also tries to tell 'serious' stories in an environment where you can drive along the sidewalk, mowing down hundreds of people for the lulz. I don't consider it better than DA when it comes to tone.
