Why you/we can't romance Leliana is because she’s a high-ranking member of the Inquisition with a great deal of responsibility, and she has to present herself a certain way for the Inquisition’s sake. However, if you prove that you're trustworthy, and that you understand where she's come from, she might let her guard down a little.

 

The Inquisition is Leliana’s priority. She knows that infighting will doom it to a quick and messy end, so she’s often willing to put aside her own personal feelings to do what’s best for the organization.

 

But you already knew that...right?

 

Somehow, someway...yet, there has to be a way to get Leliana. If I find it i'll let you all know

I can't get over how gorgeous she is in this game.

 

My Warden didn't romance her though... maybe I should do that, just to see what her story is like that way.

Her romance is awesome! Be prepared for some major bugs though. If you play on PC, find a fix or something. She's a tricky little vixen.

Oh, I played it a long time ago. Just moved platforms, never kept the save.. never really settled on that Warden's story, so to speak.

Me neither. I narrowed it down to two that I liked: A male human noble who was a total douche who romanced Morrigan and a female city elf who saved everyone and romanced Leliana. I prefer the latter, but the former was fun to play with. Alistair hated him.

Anyone saw this question from the Raptr Q&A?

Q: Are the "Advisers of the Inquisition" companions? I had asked this about Leliana (as she is my favorite character in the Dragon Age series) and was met with the response that she will be an NPC from a fellow fan; however, as Cullen is also an Adviser to the Inquisition AND a romance option, I am unsure as to their role in the game. Any answers would be greatly appreciated, as I am ridiculously excited for the return of Leliana; follower or no. Thanks!
 

A: they are LIs, but not companions.

A: Advisors will not travel in your party but you do interact with them at youir base (MD)

 

The question specifically mentioned Leliana and Cullen, so is Leliana a LI now?

No, she is not an LI. This has been confirmed.

Cullen and Josephine are advisers and they are love interests. Cullen is straight and Josphine is bisexual.
