She's anti-asshat mage (the resolutionists).
Sister Nightingale: Leliana in DA:I Appreciation&Discussion (Nope, still not romanceable)

Leliana's just sore from all the torture, that's all.
I'd rather this lead to a long-lasting alteration of character for her.
If you really want to avoid her becoming so jarred, you can just not send her to spy on the Venatori.

Oh, you have no idea.
David Gaider himself had to step in and tell the ones most upset by it that no, she wasn't anti-mage and he had no idea where they had gotten that idea from.
........I can't even...

I think she knows the Warden well enough to not harbour any sore feelings towards him/her if they are a mage. She didn't seem too overly hostile to the Inquisitor and Dorian.

Tea and jam? Pff! That is so last season.
Vivienne is the outrageous, cutting edge one. Josephine is the elegant traditionalist.

Some people were saying she was extremely antagonistic to Dorian. So woe to those who try to server her marmalade instead.

I'd say Isabela had alot more dirty jokes though, but she was written by Sheryl as well
Makes me wonder if Blackwall will have even more dirty jokes.
Hold up, she wrote both of my waifus?? Awesome!

That was my impression. She was just touchy about the fact that Dorian was trying to coax her into telling him what happened, not because she suddenly hates him or the like.

The resolutionists in DA2 openly and willingly advocated terrorism. They went a step beyond the Libertarians, who already sound alarms when they want to remove all connections to the Chantry.. but the resolutionists were even crazier than Anders (and Anders in basically crazy in his own right). It doesn't mean she hates all mages. Not all mages associate with anything like that.

People complained? She had what, a total of maybe 10 lines in the entire game?
You know how some pro-mages get

Maybe you can make a templar out of her
In DA 2, they had templars who were rogues. I have a feeling we'll never have a conversation with one, have that available as a rogue specialization, or learn anything about how the Templar order trains the light armor, dagger wielding, stealthy types.

Well, I'm still hoping for beign able to "upgrade" the soldiers with templar abilities. So maybe we can bring those duel wielding rogue templars back?

I'm so looking forward to upgrading our Soldiers, traders, and Assassins/Spies/Agents

Templar Hunters... they sound incredibly useful. At least if you want to kill an apostate (not capture). Stalking around for apostates, like you would wild game.

Right, the Templar hunters. I had always imagined those guys were some of the elite Templars sent to track down escaped mages.

Yea, their names gave me that feeling too
The Templar Rogues track down mages probably with some warrior Templars while the rest of the Warrior Templars stay at the Circles

I am unsure I would do so, even if given the option. Templars need a steady supply of lyrium, which is addictive and causes long-term mental degradation.

Yes, though I'm not sure if they exist in the lore or were just a gameplay element. You never see one in cutscenes or wandering around the world. All of the Templars we've interacted with are the heavy armor types.

It's actually speculated that a lot of Templar abilities are not dependent on lyrium. A lot of them simply boil down to techniques that disrupt spellcasting. In TME, Michel De Chevin even mentions Chevaliers lean Templar moves for fighting mages.

ISn't it pretty much said that the Lyrium at best simply makes Templar abilities more powerful and at worst, does nothing but give the chantry a method of controlling it's Templars?
Either way, making use of Templar training could prove useful.

The implication that you'll deliberately have Leliana tortured for the sake of getting another ally in your planned slaughterhouse has been noted.

I think the trouble mostly came about when she strongly implied disdain for the Libertarians.
