I see what you mean but I think she's tougher now and more pragmatic. I do think she's still sweet and depending on how the inquisitor interacts with her, we will see her sweet side again.

I did like seeing the darker side of her though in that mission, was pretty bamf. She has changed some over the last few years for many reasons, I'm not complaining though, makes her more interesting.

Of course I love her! I'm just concerned about her having lost her zest for life. Part of her charm was her optimism. It's sad to see it gone.

I didn't know optimism was available for a limited time only. :P

Mage necromancer...

I'm so playing that (just to have everyone but Nevarrans queasy at me).

Cassandra will probably love it :P

Mmh... Not sure I get it... She didn't come across as very optimistic in DAI...

I suppose I'll say that I'm optimistic that she's optimistic.

She's doing a 180 if this is the case. I always saw her as soft on mages. Just like Alistair. Leliana and Alistair will even brush aside blood magic if it means protecting innocents.

I don't think Alistair was soft on mages...I remember when we were in The Circle Tower and one blood mage (I forget it her name) pleaded  to let her live. Leliana said everybody deserves a second chance, but Alistair scoffed and said sooner put an arrow through her heart.

I let her live.

He didn't say that he was arguing about chantry "mercy" with leliana.

Leliana needs an intervention.

I'm just saying because she seems less hopeful for one part of the game it doesn't mean that all we will see is this, or that we will even see this after the fact.

I do give the impression that she's less open to those around her now, and expresses her feelings less however.

Oh, I get it now. It's true that the sample we got may not be the best benchmark for her attitude. Oh well, we'll see.

I will do everything I can to keep Leliana alive right to the end...to the very end. I hope.

Didn't they already say that you can finish the game with everyone alive?

I think so... They also said you can alienate everyone except one companion.

It makes me think of Liara. She changed a lot over the years too and I think she became a more interesting character. Though many people would disagree with me, I'm sure!

Not me, I'm also a big Liara fan. :D  And I much preferred ME3 Liara to the Liara of the earlier titles, she was a nice mix of sweet and tough. Oddly enough when I first saw the Leliana scene at Redcliffe castle and how badass she was I thought yunno this sorta reminds me of seeing Liara on Mars for the first time. How cold and precise she was in dispatching her enemies, wow she has really changed since the last time we spoke!

I like it! :D

I'm guessing you didn't take Oghran to the sacred ashes. He tells you it's the largest and richest deposit of lyrium he's even encountered.

The only other time we see anyone work with lyrium on that magnitude is Caradin at the Anvil of the Void. He wasn't a mage.

Edit: It would be funny if Sandel caused the Breach.

*with a silly grin on his face* Not Enchantment!

The minute she runs into the warden and Isabela she'll start singing again, which will lead to the Inquisitor to say "who is diz woman".

Do you guys think Leliana would call Morrigan a friend and vise versa?

she is bald too. When she said that line lol, gurl pls.

As for not everyone making it out alive in this game, goddamn it's like the suicide mission on steroids! The end is nigh truly.

Acquaintance, maybe.

Though I'd be interested to see how Morrigan deals with Leliana's development in DA:I...

I think Leliana would, Morrigan wouldn't.  Because Morrigan is grouchy and Leliana wants to be friends with everyone.

A lot could change over the course of 10 years I suppose, but I'd be surprised if either of them referred to the other as a friend. As of DA:O at least they were not friends, and potentially rivals. The banter between them in DA:O generally ranged from snarky to downright hostile.

On the other hand it wouldn't be the first time Bioware took two characters who didn't particularly like one another in one game, and had them develop a friendship in the sequel. In Mass Effect 1 Garrus is fairly mean to Tali in those elevator conversations and doesn't seem to particularly like Quarians. Over the course of ME2 and ME3 however they develop a close friendship, and potentially (if neither is romanced by Shepard) end up as friends with benefits in the final game.
