Yes! That convo was awesome! I think he saw that Leliana would be too much for him to handle. 

 

Actually the Warden can have a foursome with Leliana, Isabela, and Zevran if so inclined and Leliana is hardened. So in least some peoples' playthroughs of DA:O, Zevran & Leliana have had sex.

Shale and Leliana also have a dialogue, though I don't know if that's gender-specific. The Wiki says it is, but I don't know if that's the case.

• Leliana: You never really leave the Maker. Not in your heart.
• Shale: That seems like an argument for infidelity.

Female Warden gets the hair conversation doe. I guess we can compensate for missing banter with that.

Yeah, the banter disparity is compensated elsewhere, though it's still odd.

 

In the case of the Alistair one maaaaaybe they're implying the female warden wasn't ogling Lels cuz she's more subtle... or that Alistair didn't get the hint that the hair compliments were more than just about hair.

 

With Shale I dunno, maybe Shale wanted to put the moves on a male warden and was trying to destable Leliana about the relationship?

I think my Warden totally was ogling her though. And I don't think she was subtle, given how bad she was with subtlety in later conversations.
