Leliana's emotional state was enough to sell me on how bad her torture was. I don't need to see every grisly detail.

She's wearing lip gloss.
Not having her wear make up, not having her in full armor, and giving her a few bruises is not 'grisly details.'

I can't imagine any torture by magic in Dragon Age that wouldn't also damage one's appearance. There's no psionics where you just cause stabbing pains in their brain but leave their body intact.
What about that blood boiling spell? The marks would be inside, not outside...

Couldn't bloodmagic mess with her blood (and I assume the vessels and organs and such?).
Or something like Fenris lyrium ghost ability where he messed around with the guys insides and didn't leave an outwardly mark.

They do and it is horrifying they think it is necessary to see someone suffering so they can enjoy a gameNo one is asking to see urine, feces, rape, horrific mutilation, or other content that might be graphic or disturbing.
People are requesting she not be in full armor and her face/body show some sign of injury.
Then, there're people who sold Fenris to his former master and killed both Mordin and Wrex
Some people are just terrible like that

It's not necessary for enjoyment. It just makes the moment seem like it actually happened with the visuals matching the dialogue.

She will look like that even if she'll personally behead a dragoness and swim in her blood. It is not flawless, she travels in this costume. It is just standard
Plus her emotional state was more than enough convincing

You do know that choices like killing Mordin and Wrex are most of the time for RP reasons? Like maybe someone didn't want to cure the krogan because of pragmatic reasons.
That doesn't automatically mean they did it for the lulz.

Alright! Let's drop the subject of torture/realism/horrible people right here. The argument is going in circles, no one is going to change their mind about it and there is nothing we can do about the game content. Let's quit this before feelings get hurt. Please.

I can't say I've taken a single evil option in a Dragon Age or Mass Effect game*, but I don't think people who do so are terrible in any way.
There may be some posters who desire Leliana's torture to be graphic or unsavory because they find the spectacle enjoyable. If developers include that sort of content, I agree they need to handle it in a thoughtful way that doesn't simply appeal to some people's baser natures.
Video games are visual though. If someone has been hurt, it's good to show them as being hurt. Having them look relatively unharmed undermines the scene.
* Unless you count the Dark Ritual, and I don't.

I assume boiling someone's blood or messing with their internal organs would cause someone to look different. If nothing else, you'd have a lot of broken capillaries, which would give you blotches/bruises.
True but the bruises could easily be under her armor.
I have doubts they tortured her physically and then put armor on her. That makes no sense.
It did happen and it was bad enough the torture actually happened
Yes it did but the visuals don't match the dialogue and for some people that's a disconnect.

Well, pragmatism isn't most of the time something you do out of the kindness of your heart but more for the greater good anyway.

agree apart for doing it for the "lulz" there is no good reason to betray Wrex or not cure the genophage
pragmatic reasons my ass
its like killing your companions in DA:O sure you can do that just because but there is no good reason to kill Wynne, Alistair ...
